“Rir, are you ready?”
“Woof, I am!”

We had decided to go to the wedding, since Ayumu set up the venue. All the SSS-Rankers could apparently attend. In any case, I was super curious how it turned out, after Ayumu put so much effort into it.

“Shuu, does it suit me?”

Rir was wearing the perfect dress for going to a wedding, which my best friend had prepared. And with him as the crafter, there was no way it wouldn’t suit her. He said he made it while paying attention to details like not leaving the shoulders open or using white, which was reserved for the wedding dress. My tuxedo was the same.

“It looks good.”
“Eh-heh-heh… I’m never wearing dresses, so this feels new,” she commented, as she held the garment’s hem and made it flutter. Calling her cute… would be an understatement. “Nonetheless, this is my first time attending a wedding.”
“I’ve been at a few.”
“Woof, how were they?”

That’s hard to answer. I mean, they were how weddings are.

“Well, everythin’ looked super fancy… and the bride and groom made their debut, I guess.”
“They kiss and exchange rings, right? And if it was a Japanese wedding, there would be a big celebration.”
“Yup. The former happens durin’ the ceremony and the latter’s the celebration afterwards. I heard this one will have one of those, too.”

A celebration organized by Ayumu. I wonder how that’ll turn out.

“It sounds like a lot of work.”
“Sure does.”
“Still, weddings have a certain allure. Wearing the white dress… exchanging rings and kissing… I wonder how it feels to tie the know with your lover.”

For her, this “lover” should be me. Well, if it ain’t, I’m gonna cry some manly tears.

“Well, just a question of time until it’s our turn.”
“Huh?”

Damn. I went and said stuff that’s still far out. She didn’t show a promising reaction either. This was lame. Sayin’ it’s “just a question of time” makes it sound like it’s already sttled that we get married. Feels way too early to decide that, seein’ we’ve only been together for a couple of months.

“Ah… sorry ’bout that.”
“…Shuu… was this meant as a proposal?”
“Nah, it just slipped out. The real one will be better thought out.”
“I see… alright!”

Rir’s ears stood up straight and her tail under the dress went wild.
Does that mean she’s happy? I hope it does.

“We should be going, Shuu,” she commented after glancing at the clock.

She then hugged my arm with a radiant smile.

“H-How does it look?”

Sakura was showing to Kanata how she looked in her dress.

“It suits you well.”
“I… I guess.”

The two kids were each wearing the dress and tuxedo Alim had prepared for them.

“How many years has it been since we were at a wedding?”
“Hm~, I only remember one when we were in pre-school and some mutual acquaintances had theirs. I think that was the only one.”

Kanata’s memory was accurate in that regard. Pondering for a few seconds if there had been any other weddings, Sakura came the conclusion that the boy was correct.

“Might be… Weddings, huh. Big Sis and Ayu-nii will probably be the first among the three couples living here to tie the knot, right?”
“I’m not so sure… If the two of us wanted, we could get married in this world in two years.”

Sakura only shrugged at Kanata’s comment.

“Let’s not get married this early, alright? There should be time to get our feeling in order.”
“Ah-ha-ha-ha, I guess so.”

Likely since they both thought the same, they laughed in agreement. Neither of them had realized that, in their minds, their future wedding was already an unchangeable fact.

“Leaving that aside, this wedding is between SSS-Rankers of this country, isn’t it?” she asked.
“It is. It’s the first ever wedding between two of them.”
“Huh…”

While changing the topic somewhat, they did their remaining preparations.

“Alright, shall we be off?”
“Don’t we still have a lot of time left?”
“It feels as if it would be better in several way if we leave now. SSS-Rankers probably have tons of acquaintances, so we should get there before there’s a huge crowd. I also want to take my time to look at Big Bro’s handiwork.”
“If that’s what you think, then let’s do so.”

Fully prepared, the two kids left the mansion and made their way to the venue.

“…Wow. So many people. It’s good that we came here early as you said, Kanata.”

Sakura seemed shocked by the throng of people surrounding the venue.

“Well, the ones out here probably won’t go into the church… We are on the guest list, so no need to worry.”
“Yeah, you probably enter at the counter over there.”

The kids pushed through the crowed and entered the church after settling things at the counter.
