Mika and I bought entry tickets with unlimited passes for all attractions¹, and then entered the park. As expected, there were many people here on Sunday. Everything from families to couples.

Some such couples, who looked serious at first glance, were making out without even trying to hide it. In other words, Mika and I could flirt and make out as much as we wanted in the amusement park.

“So, what will we do first?”
“Let’s go with the merry-go-round.”

Couples coming to the amusement park often went to ride the carousel. It was also close to the entrance. We stood in line for the attraction, where around two groups worth of people were waiting for their turn.

“Come to think, don’t they say that you shouldn’t go on a date in the amusement park when there are too many people?” Mika mused, likely since the current round at the attraction had just started and we’d be waiting several minutes.
“It’s true, when you wait long in line, some people end up quarreling.”
“We don’t have to worry about that, do we? We already understand each other well enough.”
“You’re right. At this stage, we wouldn’t just end up fighting.”
“Yeah.”

I think the last fight we had was in Anazumu. After 14 years together, there weren’t many reasons left for us to argue. Though in the past, we often did. For example, when I overdid it with video games, or when I played too many games, or when I wouldn’t stop playing video games…

Huh, isn’t this more her getting angry at me than us fighting…?

“Ayumu! Get on!”
“Ah, right!”

Mika and I rode on a set of horses that were next to each other.

I haven’t used a carousel for quite some time.
To be honest, it wasn’t an attraction I’d ride if I came here by myself. You needed someone to flirt with for it.

The carousel started spinning, moving up and down as cheerful music played. Mika was grinning at me. I grinned back at her.
She looks happy.

“Eh-heh-heh~. I guess there’s not much meaning to it, but the merry-go-round is fun!”
“Ah-ha-ha, it is!”

Our conversation might have been a bit senseless. But it didn’t matter. It was such a moment.

A bit later, the carousel came to a stop. The ride ended in an instant, since I hadn’t paid the surrounding scenery any mind and just focused on Mika’s adorable face.

“What should we ride next?”
“The coffee-cups should work, right?”
“Let’s go with that.”

After getting off the carousel, we made our way to the coffee-cups at my suggestion. If you asked me, that was another good attraction for couples. Since the seats were right next to each other².

There was barely any line there, plus it was relatively close to the merry-go-round, so we could get on immediately.

“Please sit next to me!”
“Alright!”
“Could you take the wheel, Ayumu?”
“Sure!”

Together with jaunty music, the coffee cups soon started to rotate slightly. Several people riding the attraction spun the wheels as fast as they could, but I didn’t do that. With how much we both looked forward to the date, I knew better than to make us sick on our second ride. I turned it slowly, at a speed that wouldn’t cause nausea.

“Heh-heh. I love you~.”

Mika clung to my arm.
She hugs me quite often today… Each time she does, I feel how she’s grown up. It’s different from how it was in the past.

“Could I take the wheel?”
“Sure thing.”

When I handed over the wheel to her, she let go of my arm and grabbed it. Then… she spun it as hard as she could.

“Wha-!?”
“It wasn’t fast enough for me. Let’s go a bit quicker!”

With a grin, she kept turning the wheel. Accordingly, our cup started to spin at dizzying speeds. Shortly later, it stopped.

“Ah, that was fun!”
“I-It was.”
“Are you alright? Don’t tell me you got queasy?”
“I-I’m not, but it turned so fast, my eyes are still spinning.”

It didn’t use to be like that. Maybe I’m getting too old for this.

“Hmph, whatever! Next! Next!”

Mika, who seemed to genuinely have fun, took my hand and ran towards the next attraction she likely wanted to ride. I ran with her.
This feeling of having fun is great… I enjoy it.

“Then let’s go with this one next!”

While showing a delighted smile, Mika pointed at a building. It was… the haunted house. Moreover, this wasn’t one where you rode in a cart, it was a maze to walk through.

…Mika is the more active one today.

TL notes:
There was an author’s comment about them not having much time and thus sticking to the basics (i.e. nonstop sappy flirting). So, worst case, the next 12 chapters will just be but more of this.

2. What better thing for a relationship than to have one partner get sick and throw up on the other!
