The day before the much-awaited livestream celebrating 100,000 subscribers.
Today, I was looking over the list of participants for the battle royale tournament.
“There are some seriously amazing people just in the sign-ups…”
I can’t say for sure how many of these will actually participate, but it’s no surprise, given the game’s global popularity.
But then again, the prizes I, a solo streamer, can offer aren’t anything significant for pros, I guess. Most participants are probably my listeners…
As I was scanning the list, I noticed a few familiar names.
“Ah, there’s Hana-san, Kaoru-san, and Yura-san, too. I get why Hana-san is in, but I didn’t know Kaoru-san and Yura-san played battle royales… That’s kinda surprising.”
After quickly going through the list, my eyes started to feel tired.
All this text is really tough on the eyes…
Overall, a surprisingly large number of VTubers had signed up.
Maybe they’re planning to stream their participation in the tournament?
I’m totally cool with it, but I’m a bit nervous seeing some pretty famous names joining in.
Then, I used randomizing software to split the participants into groups.
With a thousand participants, I think I’ll divide them into ten groups. The top 10 from each group will advance to the main event.
Whether you lurk around to stay on top or go search and destroy to wipe out your enemies, all that matters is winning.
But of course, no cheating!
However, I’m currently really stressed out.
“There are too many people and not enough time…”
Yeah, no matter how much I’ve tried to make this easy, I’ve never planned or handled an event this huge.
It’s almost all manual.
There is some event management software out there, but I still have to manually assign teams, check them off, and email everyone their block number.
It simplifies things a bit, but I’m still looking at a minimum of a thousand clicks… I feel like I’ve already lost.
The lottery is a separate software, so there’s no integration. I’m glad I set an early deadline.
♢
I was up late last night sending out emails and almost overslept for the first time in a while.
I have a part-time job only in the morning today, so once I’m done, and back home, I’ll start the tournament.
Nothing special happened at the part-time job, and I made it back home safely.
All right, let’s do our best in today’s stream!
♢
{Hello, Lis-niis and Lis-nees! It’s me, Yuka Shirahime!}
{Wait, what?! What do you mean, 200k?!}
I quickly checked my channel, and there it was, indeed, over 200,000.
{Hold on, when I checked on Tuesday night, it was just over 100,000!}
this is just a guess, but its prolly cause of that GloryCute Tweet or inStarGram buzz, right?
Fashion stuff blows up on inStarGram, y’know!
hooo, we can’t keep up with this!
Instar’s that thing where you add hot water and it’s ready to eat, right?
that’s instant, dude.
{I-I don’t check Instar…}
i see, so peeps just followed the lead and liked what they saw
what an adorable voice for a guy…
A guy?
a trap!
What, that’s so cute!
I wanna try it too!
{Wait, a regular listener is getting brainwashed in the wrong direction!}
Were gonna drag you into this rabbit hole…
In a world with such cuties, I wouldn’t mind getting brainwashed…
Where do I go to meet someone like this…?
you dont really see these types in harajuku, do ya?
No idea what y’all talking about…
the fate of an otaku…
{Some of you look like you’re being dragged away! Please come back, onee-chans!}
A…
onee-chan…?
so cute…
guh…
She’s gone
shes definitely a goner…
I see, yuka-chan deals the final blow herself, eh
Classic Yuka-chan move
lol, we got casualties already
{Ahh! I didn’t mean for this to happen!}
Thank you, GloryCute… I’m gonna buy from your brand all my life…
Me too…
me three
looks like youre not too different from us otakus, huh?
Dont say it…
dont remind us…
otaku or whatever, im fine with anything at this point… I mean, how can you resist cuteness like that…
{You can’t fall into depravity like this!!!}
yuka-chan, it’s not falling if they’ve always been down there
Who are these people…
until yesterday, I wanted to slap my old self for wondering why so many vtuber fans are otakus
omg ikr!
Well, with cuties like her, no wonder they get hooked…
{These onee-chans are beyond saving…}
Yeah, sorry about that…
were kinda responsible for dragging them in, so sorry too…
My bad…
Yuru Kakizaki: Things have gotten pretty crazy all of a sudden…
Fuwari Ukigumo: Well, that’s yuka-chan for youuu
Why is it always either “that’s yuka-chan/fuwa-chan for you” when stuff goes down, lol
{U-Um, can I say one thing?!}
ok
sure
All good!
go ahead!
sup
{I wanna thank everyone for congratulating me!
I’ve been able to keep going because of you all.
So, whether it’s videos or streams, I’ll keep working hard to make content everyone can enjoy. Please keep supporting me!}
Just two months and you’ve already come this far
Its all cause of yuka-chans cuteness! We’ll keep supporting you!
Congrats again! But dont push yourself too hard, yuka-chan!
i cant tell if this is that amazing of an accomplishment in just 2 months, but congrats!
{Thank you, everyone! Let’s get to today’s main event!}
Here we gooooo!!!
the poison begins…
Time to count your sins, peeps!
what are we doing today?
I dunno…
me neither
{Today, we’re playing this game!
Player Searching Killing Ground!
More commonly known as PSKG!
It’s like the evolved form of that famous something-action and P.U.B.G. from back in the day!}
Oh I know this! The shoot ‘em up game, right?
PSKG? Heard there’s been no tourneys recently, so the participant count’s nuts, is that true?
wonder how many are playing
{We had a lot of entries, but I’m sorry, I had to cap it at 1000.}
That’s hella lot!!!
too many lol
yuka-chan’s gonna have a tough time managing lol
thats one zero too many!
wow, that’s a lot!
{The rules are simple: the top 10 from each block advance to the final block!
But this roulette spin will only allow 9 from the blocks it stops on, so tough luck for those groups, but do your best!
I’m rooting for all you!}
So one block is the Yuka-chan block
ah, so that’s the plan
{I’ve sent out the block assignments by email already, but if you can’t gather in time, we’ll start with whoever’s there.
Make sure to use the restroom before we start!}
okie-dokie!
Roger!
Understood!
ponyo!
copy that!
{Let’s start the matches for each block at 2:05!}
Fight on!!!!
victory is all that matters!
No cheating, ever
Just watching sounds fun!
but it might be a bit plain visually, so it’s fine for newbies to just casually watch
thanks for the heads up!
Thx!
And so, the bloody battle begins!
