After the classroom was filled with the girls’ excited screams, we decided what food to serve and who would go to the health department for permission.
We couldn’t really make complex dishes, so we thought about relatively simple stuff. We also considered things like curry rice, which takes some time to prepare but is easy to serve.
I remember our teacher telling us that curry needs to be cooked on the same day.
If there’s any leftover, we were told to eat it ourselves after the event.
Makes sense. Food poisoning would cause trouble for the whole school.
We also thought about desserts, like crepes.
When asked if there were any other good ideas, I decided to throw in my suggestion.
Just rice as the main dish felt a bit lonely!
“I think pasta would be a good idea. What do you all think?”
“Pasta, huh…”
“I’m not sure how to make the sauce…”
“I can boil noodles!!!”
My classmates were buzzing with different opinions and ideas.
“I can make the sauce if we have the ingredients.”
When I said that, the whole class agreed.
“Seriously?!”
“That’s awesome!”
“We’d love it if you could do that!”
“And maybe we can have the leftovers, if there are any…?”
While we were discussing this, the teacher spoke up.
“Ah, I forgot to mention, the school won’t collect the profits from this, so plan wisely.”
“Is that why the themed rooms are only for first-year students?”
One of my classmates asked.
“Yeah, if we allowed every class to make money, everyone would want to do it, right?
To keep it fair, the past seniors fought with the school, and that’s how it became like this.”
“So that’s why only second and third-year students can have food stalls!”
“Exactly!”
“But why only second and third years?”
“Well, if every class did it, it wouldn’t be a school festival anymore but a food festival, right?”
“TRUE…”
Everyone who had been questioning the teacher nodded in agreement.
“So, you’re free to earn as much as you can during the three days of the festival.
But no shady business or bad trades, okay?
And try to keep the cosplay exposure modest. I mean, race queens are a bit much…”
“Ah, I think the exposure isn’t as much as you’re thinking, teacher.”
“Is that so?”
“Yes, it was actually a winter version that got rejected for being too modest.”
“Did you make it yourself?”
“Yes, I like doing that kind of stuff.”
“Th-That’s quite impressive…”
“I was going to give it to someone I know, but it got rejected… I’ve been paid for the materials and other expenses, so it would be a waste to throw it away…”
“I see, so you’re the one who’ll provide it.”
“Something like that.”
One of the girls in my class turned out to be the costume provider.
Knowing how to make your own clothes is really cool.
“By the way, the school provides a budget of a hundred thousand yen.
This money is saved from everyone’s tuition fees.
There’s no charge for tables or using the cafeteria kitchen, so how much you spend on materials is up to you.
But if you go over the given budget, you need to figure out how to cover it.
I’m here for a consultation, but remember, it’s all about your efforts as students.
I’ll be watching your hard work.”
“YES!”
The whole class responded in unison.
You could feel the enthusiasm.
I’ll have to do my best too since I’m in charge of making the pasta sauce!

After the meeting, we went back to our regular classes.
It seems that our LHR time will regularly be used for festival planning from now on.
After class, I went home and decided to think about the content for the commemorative stream I’m planning for this weekend.
I want to do a usual stream, but I also want to make it something where I can express my gratitude to everyone.
I’m trying to come up with a good idea, but nothing’s coming to mind…
Maybe a viewer participation event would be interesting?
Playing a multiplayer game could be fun…
Maybe I’ll ask for suggestions on Tweeter.
That’s it!
Maybe I can play that super popular battle royale game with my viewers and fulfill the winner’s wish as much as possible!
That’ll definitely get everyone excited. I’ll make a tweet about it and see if anyone’s interested in joining!
After posting that on Tweeter, I was overwhelmed by the number of participants – but that’s a story for a little later.
