It is time for me to sleep.
Actually it was time for me to sleep hours ago…
I just got really interested in reading about some dumb topic and lost track of time.

I’ve been doing it more recently and I need to fix it, I need human sleep schedule to return this month because I am busy next month.

I got very distracted doing some other work and neglected doing this.
Then got a migraine… talk about timing.
It took me so many hours to finish this editing.

I blame Satisfactory… even though I stopped playing early to get this done… it was a rather unrewarding decision in hindsight.
I should have kept playing until the migraine started. What a great regret.

One of my friends was sick so I spent most of the time checking in on them.

The scifi redesign for my character is finally finally finally reaching the end.
Kind of amazing to think about, it took forever.
We went through several design iterations.

We’ve ended on something vaguely dragon/dinosaur themed with a tail attachment, but now we need to finalise the weapon design.
Then the smaller details need to be settled on. We have too many ideas for them all so it’s a mix-and-match type situation for which ones work best together.

One thing about this site that you may not know is that each publisher has exclusive access to the portion of the site that they publish for, aside from the admins and owners of course.
This causes me annoyance… for a petty reason.
We get notifications as a site-wide thing… so I can currently see that there are 2 comments in need of approval…
But those two comments are on stories I do not publish for, so I cannot clear the notifications by dealing with the comments.
This brings me annoyance.

I said it was petty.

The full version of Satisfactory released a few days ago but I still haven’t had a chance to play it…
Actually I haven’t had a chance to play anything at all recently, been busy with other stuff.
That includes my ongoing X4 playthrough, to my annoyance.

And then on top of that I still have to get round to buying and playing Baldurs Gate…
I will. Eventually.

Hello everyone, it’s your favourite science fiction nerd to give you another update on the art progress of his current original characters scifi redesign!
We started over again!
Yeah… nobody saw it coming, I know… but we suddenly got a burst of inspiration from Honkai of all places.

Originally we were leaning heavily on the Phantasy Star Online 2 kind of aesthetic, but we were struggling to create two coherent versions of the main outfit, since my friend wants to cosplay it so we needed a cosplay appropriate version. Yes, I have friends, yes they cosplay, yes this one is female too.

I had an interesting world building discussion today on making a science fiction setting using fantasy tropes.
It was kind of interesting trying to create the feeling of a fantasy adventure setting using scifi.
I know stuff like Phantasy Star exists which also does it, fairly well too.

Oh and I don’t mean like Warhammer, sure that pigeon holes fantasy tropes into a scifi shaped package but it’s more like science fantasy than scifi using fantasy tropes…
If that even makes sense.

So apparently earlier this week there was a grand global purge of pretty much every majorly significant anime piracy site, which you know, fair enough…
But the anime archivists are now in tears trying to work out which shows have been lost into the chasm between “too old” and “formerly legal” to obtain.

And you don’t even have to go far back for this problem to start occurring either…
GATE, one of my favourite anime, has been removed from Crunchyroll for a long time since their license expired, and the dvds/bluray were a limited run and went out of sale years before that.
In other words, the only way to watch this anime at all right now is to pirate it, and it’s not even ten years old!
This is what happens when one company has the entire licensing market…

I got a spontaneous craving to go watch Astra Lost in Space.
Well, I kind of know why.
In my X4 playthrough I managed to get an ancient several centuries old exploration cruiser to retrofit as a destroyer, and given it was an old style ship designed for exploration while thinking of what to name it I ended up on “Astra”.
For the record, I built a copy of it afterwards and named that one Edelweiss, it has a pure white paintjob, it currently serves as my personal flagship.

I like it because it has a spinning artificial gravity section, but it also has double the radar range of any other ship in the game owing to its exploration background, which is amazing with the percentage boost upgrades to radar range you can also apply to make that go even further pushing it towards triple the range of other ships.

I have been progressing through the latest event story for Neural Cloud.
The scale is… extreme…
It’s going full scifi space opera with its content and it feels out of place when placed next to the other chapters of the game.

I could understand the earlier ones, like the one that was simulating the construction of a futuristic power generator that defied physics, or the one that was simulating an entire aquatic ecosystem for analysis and so forth, but the one that’s simulating an entire solar system? Sure it sounds fine on paper… until it goes as far as simulating things like space battleships and a ringworld with orbital elevators and everything else.
It’s just a completely different sense of scale, it means that if you applied the technology and resources in this one simulation alone to the other chapters in the game you could steamroll them!

Did this novel always have menu status descriptions for items?
I can’t remember.
My migraine might be half of that, but honestly menu status appraisal is so generically common now it’s hard to remember it distinctively.

Speaking of which, I’ve been reading that Academy Survival some more lately, but not much more, and not now… because aforementioned migraine…
