One of the things I like about the setting for Frieren is that the mages in it don’t sit about twiddling their thumbs when it comes to researching spells.
A spell that the 4 strongest people in the world were completely unable to defend against 80 years ago gets reduced to the level of generic attack magic after it’s researched, and countermeasures are developed and improved. There’s a sense of progress and development for magic instead of everyone just trying to reclaim past glory like you see in other settings.
This chapter is one of the first ones to really highlight how entrenched this novel is with the author’s other works and their RPG.
Beware, the wiki is a rabbit hole, and with spoilers.
The character design art on there though is absolute fire.
Some really great work from the artist.
Not that you should spoil yourself.
I did it as part of my job!
Hello everyone!
I’m a bit tired of repeating myself now but…
Christmas releases are here!
People who have already read this explanation can skip to the chapter.
People reading this for the first time, I’m currently posting a bunch of extra chapters for Christmas.
Well actually, just three for Alchemist right now (I almost typed Alchemist Code habitually there) and then I will be done.
I hope you all enjoy the three hours of extra work I have done for you all.
Someone suggest some manga, or webcomics, or web novels that involve spaceships.
I’m just… really craving some scifi lately.
I’ve been binge reading fantasy stuff so much I need my science!
With the advent of the Steam sale upon us I have to wonder if Baldur’s Gate will go on sale or not.
Obviously there’s a lot of pressure and reason to, but they’re also still in their golden time.
I wouldn’t fault them for not wanting to lose out on the money by staying full price…
But with the game awards people will want them to do a sale…
I guess they will compromise and do a very small discount?
The new Stellaris beta update has essentially lifted its entire core gameplay gimmick from a popular mod wholesale.
New beta update to the tech tree:
– Replaced basic research technologies such as Quantum Theory with Breakthrough Technologies. Breakthrough Technologies will only appear once you have researched enough techs of your current tier and are required to research to reach the next tier.
– Breakthrough Technologies become easier to research based on the number of other empires you have low Tech intel on that have already researched them.
– Enigmatic Engineering blocks your Breakthrough Technologies from spreading.
Popular mod Technology Ascendant:
– This adds thirteen breakthrough technologies, one for each specialization (particles, materials, biology, etc)
– Breakthroughs have a unique spread system, and depending on your relationship with your neighbors you are more or less likely to learn their secrets over time.
– The Enigmatic Engineering perk however will block breakthrough spread.
There are so many packets of empty biscuits on my desk… I really need to clear them all.
I also need to recycle my box of plastic bottles.
I also need to get my hair cut soon because it’s getting a little out of hand, my fringe gets in my eyes when I read!
I also need to stop just saying I need to do things and actually do them!
My parents hosted a relatively spontaneous christmas-ish party today.
I maaaay have stolen a lot of snacks.
However, in my defence I am usually quite tame with how many snacks I take, deciding to take them after everyone else has…
And then I end up with none!
I have learned from my mistakes, from now and into the future I will help myself generously.
I randomly got the urge to reach out to an old friend of mine today…
Well, I shot them a discord message anyway…
No idea if they still use that discord at all, but I sent it.
Hopefully they do… I don’t know why I randomly felt the urge to talk with them though.
I think I have two light novels meant to come this month.
Well it was meant to be one!
But for whatever reason Amazon decided to massively delay sending it to me until the end of this year!
Argh.
I could have got it faster if I had just cancelled my preorder and just reordered it.
But I am stubborn!
So today I learned that this novel uses the setting and lore of an official Tabletop RPG.
Which would be great, if I could get this RPG as well…
But also, this thing has a gigantic wiki.
Like a proper one.
And he uses it all.
Literally this would be like if someone wrote a Neverwinter or Baldur’s Gate novel…
Neural Cloud really trying to find ways to squeeze extra money out of people now.
The battle pass includes a skin as part of its paid track right…
Well this battle pass skin also comes with an optional extra payment to upgrade it to Live2D.
So you buy the battle pass, then buy the skin upgrade pass.
Talk about double dipping!
