    • The first Korean translator hired by Re:Library, a spunky and lively individual. Has a fair knowledge of the Korean language and adequate English writing skills. Easy to communicate with and his lively personality always brightens your day. For some reason, however, as though a gloomy cloud had covered the sun, his positive vibes took a complete 180 turn. He suddenly stopped participating in chat as much, gives off a negative vibes, and would ignore your messages.
    • Writing Skills (3/5):
      • He is able to properly convey the meaning of the text, but the sentences are sometimes awkwardly worded. He need to work on his grammar, vocabulary, and sentence structure.
    • Language Skills (4/5):
      • The translation is mostly accurate, I deducted one point because, though rarely, there are times where he misinterpreted the context.
    • Punctuality (2/5):
      • Always leaves work until the last minute and ultimately missed the deadline.
    • Communication (3/5):
      • During the first few months, he was easy to reach and chat with, but motivation dimmed quickly and now he even started ignoring my direct messages.

Mii

  • Review:
    • Mii has pretty decent language skills and her writing skill is not bad but could definitely still be improved. From what I’ve gathered, Mii is using Memsource to assist her to translate more efficiently, but that sometimes ended up screwing her English and the text will end up looking like edited machine translation. For the most part though, her translation is acceptable.
    • Writing Skills (4/5):
      • Could be improved but her writing skills is still slightly above average according to my standard. Although she rarely screwed up, she definitely need to pay more attention to the text spilled out by Memsource and rewrite them as necessary so the text don’t end up reading like edited machine translation.
    • Language Skills (4/5):
      • With at least a year of experience in translating and N2 qualification, Mii has proved herself to be one of the “better” translator. She still made a few mistakes in translation, but not so much as to be a big problem.
    • Punctuality (3/5):
      • Always manages her time properly and submits “right on time”. Will let you know in advance if she “might” be late.
    • Communication (4/5):
      • Easy to reach via Discord and always replied promptly.

imperfectluck

  • Review:
    • He is a great translator vouched for his translation skills and he definitely does a great job, as far as writing and language skills are concerned. It hadn’t been long since I hired him but I already noticed a problem, he procrastinates too much and leaves everything for the last minute, he can finish one chapter within 30 minutes but instead of finishing up everything early, he decides to leave them alone until I rushed him to submit the chapters. Then there’s also the communication problem, whenever you ask him a question, he only answered with the bare minimum words so it’s hard to strike up a conversation with him.
    • Writing Skills (4/5):
      • I do not see much problem with his writing skills, though he tends to stick to the same sentence structure as the raw so some wording can get a bit awkward. I’ve advised him that he could combine the sentences and mix them up a little so the writing will flow better, so I am hoping that this will improve in the future.
    • Language Skills (5/5):
      • I have yet to find any mistakes in translation, some of them could be worded better, but that’s mostly related to the writing skills.
    • Punctuality (2/5):
      • Can finish one chapter within 30 minutes but procrastinate too much and leave everything until the last minute. It’ll probably be a good idea to give him a weekly quota from now on so that he wouldn’t leave everything until the eleventh hour.
    • Communication (2/5):
      • Hard to communicate with him, he only replied with the minimal words so it’s hard to strike up a conversation and sometimes he just ignores you.

Musubii

  • Review:
    • This was probably one of the most considerate translator I’ve had the chance to hire. I would have continued hiring him if he hadn’t decided to stop translating due getting too busy in real life.
    • Writing Skills (4/5):
      • Great mastery of English writing skills, but due to getting too busy later on, some of the latest chapters he translated had more grammatical mistakes than usual.
    • Language Skills (4/5):
      • Commands great mastery of Japanese language skills and is able to convey the intent of the author.
    • Punctuality (5/5):
      • He is very considerate of his surroundings and made sure not to trouble those he works with. Always submits on time and will inform us well ahead of time if he’d be late.
    • Communication (4/5):
      • Never had a problem reaching out to him, though we never have had much of a friendly conversation so our relationship is mostly work-related colleagues.

Mab

  • Review:
    • Introduced to us by Yuki, has decent mastery in English and is very punctual. He can get a bit too literal sometimes and can definitely use a bit improvement.
    • Writing Skills (3/5):
      • His English Writing Skills still has much room to grow, but is decent enough to be easily understood and convey the meaning. Though, sometimes I feel that he tried too hard to use difficult words and end up making the sentence sound awkward instead.
    • Language Skills (3/5):
      • While it wasn’t really the translator’s fault so much as it was the author’s writing style which made it hard to understand, I still had to point out a few mistakes that he made, need to put double up the effort into making sure the translation is correct and get help where necessary.
    • Punctuality (5/5):
      • Always submits a few weeks in advance, so I never had to keep reminding him of the deadline. Capable of working independently.
    • Communication (5/5):
      • Easy to reach via Discord and always replied promptly.

Mui

  • Review:
    • Mui is one of the best translators I could hope to hire, not only does he commands perfect language and writing skills, he’s also very punctual and very easy to communicate, I’ll give him a perfect 5 out of 5.
    • Writing Skills (5/5):
      • Aside from a few typos due to auto-correction, there isn’t really much of an issue with Mui’s English writing skills.
    • Language Skills (5/5):
      • Commands high mastery of the Japanese language and is able to convey the author’s thoughts without any issues.
    • Punctuality (5/5):
      • Always delivered weeks ahead of the deadline. Very independent and doesn’t require frequent reminders.
    • Communication (5/5):
      • It is easy to reach out to him on Discord and a very friendly guy.

Immortal Dreamer

  • Review:
    • Immortal Dreamer is like a box of knowledge, they’re a curious person by nature and that naturally led them to learn of many things. Included in their skillset is the comprehensive English writing skills, extensive knowledge of Chinese and Japanese language, and now they’re even starting to delve into the Korean language. The only real problem with them is that they agree to do things much too easily and that ended up overwhelming them.
    • Writing Skills (5/5):
      • Their English writing skills is better than most, myself included, and I am learning much from them.
    • Language Skills (5/5):
      • Not only Chinese, they even know Japanese and some Korean language. And if there is something they don’t understand, they’ll do extensive research on their own.
    • Punctuality (0/5):
      • Always late, they definitely have the capacity to finish all the work on time but as stated above, they often took up too much work upon themselves and ended up failing to deliver on time.
    • Communication (5/5):
      • Very easy to reach out to them on Discord and they always replied immediately to any and all questions when they’re online.

Aurum

  • Review:
    • Aurum commands good mastery of English writing skills and decent Japanese language skills, but sometimes, though rarely, he would translate a bit too straightforward and made the reading a bit awkward for English native readers. The biggest problem with him is not his translation skills, however, but his time management skills.
    • Writing Skills (4/5):
      • I don’t have much complain with his writing skills aside being too straightforward at times.
    • Language Skills (4/5):
      • Very knowledgeable about the Japanese language, though there are still times when the translation doesn’t quite make sense, although very rarely.
    • Punctuality (0/5):
      • Always late. Had to keep reminding him to translate almost every single day and still failed to deliver on time.
    • Communication (5/5):
      • It is easy to reach out to him on Discord and he always talks about pizza or games.

FrozenFirez

  • Review:
    • FrozenFirez is a decent translator with average writing and language skills, the reading can be quite awkward at times but they can be easily understood and he made minimal mistakes in his translations, my biggest problem with him is in regards to communication.
    • Writing Skills (3/5):
      • The English can be awkward at times but they can still be easily understood, most of the time.
    • Language Skills (3/5):
      • His translation is mostly accurate but sometimes he made such a simple mistake I started to doubt whether he is a native Chinese.
    • Punctuality (3/5):
      • Always “just” in time. Had to remind him of the deadline occasionally.
    • Communication (1/5):
      • It is very hard to reach out to him on Discord, I can send him several messages over the span of several days and he never replied.

Snoring Dragon

  • Review:
    • At first, I wasn’t so sure about him, his writing skill was bad and he made lots of mistakes in translation, but at least he’s motivated. Too motivated, in fact, it gets on my nerves whenever he storms me with translation questions on Discord every other day, no matter how minor. After having a good talk with him, he finally learned to take the initiative to do some research on his own and only asks when there’s something he really doesn’t get. He’s showing considerable improvement since he first started working with us so I’ll at least rate his motivation a five out of five.
    • Writing Skills (3/5):
      • He’s been improving and is now able to write fully coherent English. Keep improving like this and one day he’ll surely get a whole lot better.
    • Language Skills (3/5):
      • Compared to the early days, he now doesn’t make as many mistake, which is a good sign. It seems that he always do a two-steps-process when he’s translating. First, a rough draft that’s basically a slightly better machine translation, then he rewrites them into a more coherent English.
    • Punctuality (5/5):
      • Always submits on time, never had to worry about him being late.
    • Communication (5/5):
      • Easy to reach via Discord and always replied promptly. More like, I was the one who ignores his messages instead.

Nomad

  • About Me:
    • Just a random dude doing random stuff online.
  • Review:
    • I don’t have much problems with his writing skills and language skills, and he always submits everything “on time”, though he likes to leave everything until the last minute. I’d say he should work on his time management a little.
    • Writing Skills (4/5):
      • Commands a great writing skill though there are occasionally sentences that’s been worded awkwardly and I had to take a second guess.
    • Language Skills (5/5):
      • I’ve never seen anything that’s been explicitly translated wrongly.
    • Punctuality (3/5):
      • Likes to leave everything until the last minutes, though he still barely manages to submit on time, if not a little late.
    • Communication (4/5):
      • Easy to reach via Discord but sometimes he won’t reply or forgot to reply.
