Project GB is an official initiative by Re:Library.

While Ciel is generally disinterested in other people, she can properly apologize when she makes a mistake. However, in this situation, Alcrei was at fault, not Ciel. Even if we consider different perspectives, it was Belltina’s responsibility to sense that someone was approaching and the rear guard’s responsibility to defeat the goblins before Alcrei came. As a whole, Ciel’s responsibility for what happened is minimal.

And yet Ciel thought to apologize. It’s evident why she did so.

「T-that’s right! We need to hurry up and find another goblin.」

Before things devolved into a self-reflection session, Palra tried to pull everyone back on track. It’s a bit forced, but being able to change gears is important. Unless you’re like us, you don’t really have the leisure to reassess your recent mistakes in the middle of monster territory; moreover, we also have a time limit to chase.

「That’s true. Bell will work hard to find goblins!」

Belltina followed Palra’s lead and began searching for the next monster. We don’t have much time left, so the next goblins we find will probably be our last chance.
If by chance we happen upon 5 of them, Ciel will probably end up having to defeat 2 before leaving the rest to Palra and Belltina.

『Is it better not to tell them that it’s alright even if we return now?』
『The two seem motivated, so it’s probably better that way. It seems like Belltina hasn’t noticed either.』
『It’s not bad for them to be able to defeat monsters, after all.』

As Ciel pointed out, what happened earlier was witnessed by a teacher. Or at least I think it’s a teacher, but I shouldn’t be wrong. Since there are battles happening all over the place, there are several teachers on standby to cover the area.
*Then why didn’t they stop Alcrei from attacking us?* You may ask, but they actually tried to do so.

However, before the teacher could move, Alcrei already cast the spell. People don’t normally fire off a thunderbolt at first sight. The teachers also want to respect student independence, so it must be hard for them to handle situations like these.
Anyway, since the teacher saw everything, Alcrei is unlikely to come out on top of this. Even if he’s not reprimanded, his grade will probably plummet significantly.

After a while, we managed to find a different goblin group. and while it took us some time, we were able to safely defeat them.

「Today will be the start of the academy’s long vacation. Feel free to use this time to rest, do hunter activities, pick up new hobbies, or return home to catch up with the family. Some of you might even take this time to practice for the athletic meet.
However, be reminded that the academy will take action if you ever start a commotion. At worst, you might even face expulsion.
At any rate, may every one of you have a pleasant holiday.」

It was the morning after all first-year courses reached their completion; the headmistress had a speech, and then we returned to our classrooms. After this, we’ll receive our report cards, and our vacation will begin. Apparently in the first academy, the report cards would be sent directly to their homes. Their academic break is also longer than ours as well. It’s probably to accommodate the nobles.

Additionally, here in the second academy, either because every student is learning different things or the concept of privacy exists in this world―if not both―they don’t post the top students.
However, it’s easy to guess who has the best grades in each course. For example, Princess Leshy likely has the best overall average while Juerd has top results in combat-oriented courses.

As our names were called one by one, we went to the front to receive our report cards from Miss Claura. Ailneige’s grades are, well, on the higher side. This was our goal, so it’s not particularly surprising.
What’s more interesting is how the others have started showing each other their grades. Regardless of status, regardless of the completely different culture, it seems like how students act remains the same. The noisiest ones right now are those around Juerd. I hear, 「As expected of Sir Juerd,」 and, 「Hmph, don’t get too cocky from this,」 even from here.

As the distribution of report cards continued, one student suddenly yelled, 「What the hell is this!?」 upon receiving his card. I reluctantly turned to the origin of the voice and saw Alcrei barking at Miss Claura.
His grade in a certain course must have been unusually bad. At the very least, it seemed to be unacceptable for Alcrei.

This attracted everyone’s attention, but after Miss Claura said something to Alcrei, the incident was put to a close. Alcrei was about to say something, but despite looking unconvinced, he returned to his seat.

We were soon dismissed, but except for Alcrei and a few others who immediately left, the majority of the students remained.
With this being the first vacation of the academy, I’m sure everyone is feeling sentimental in their own way. More importantly, if you want to meet with the others during the holiday, you’ll have to make plans right now; otherwise, it’ll be difficult to get into contact with your friends.

The lack of communication devices is quite troubling in situations like these. However, you can probably still manage if your friends are within the Royal Capital. However, if either of you leave the capital for any period of time, you won’t be able to contact them in that duration. You can send a letter, but who knows when it’ll reach your friend.
And if you want your letters to arrive as soon as possible, a large sum would be necessary.

It’s very different from my previous world, where you can simply contact your friends through phone and reach anywhere inside the country within a day.
Ciel and I could probably cross the borders within 2-3 days if we really tried, but that obviously can’t be considered the norm.

「Ailneige, what’ll you be doing this break?」
「I’ll be going to the Hunter Guild with you two.」
「Right, thank you. But other than that?」
『Come to think of it, what are we doing this break?』
『If it’s just us, we could probably return to Central, but there’s also Mia to consider. It might be best to decide after consulting with Mia first.』
『In short, no plan.』
『That’s right, no plan.』
「We have nothing planned so far. We might return home to Central, I suppose.」
「I guess Central is far away, then?」

It seems like Palra doesn’t have any idea how far Central is. Actually, she probably can’t imagine how far other countries can be.
After all, she apparently doesn’t even go outside her own village much. Even shopping in the neighboring town is probably a big adventure for her.

「It’s much, much farther away than your village.」

Ciel answered, and Palra responded with an impressed wow. After that, we decided on the day we’d meet at the Hunter Guild.
