「As for Palra, there’s nothing particularly of note. She has a promising Job, but she doesn’t have the experience to fully take advantage of it yet.」
「If I recall, hers is Advanced Huntsman, is it? It’s quite an uncommon Job.」
「Do you know about Belltina’s Job?」
「I only know the Jobs of those who have publicized theirs during the entrance exam. For that reason, I am not aware of your Job either, Miss Ailneige. There are rumors of it being either Sword Dancer or something similar, however…」
「Who can say?」

From an outsider’s perspective, perhaps it looks similar enough? We are currently acting the part of Sword Dancer, so it’s as anticipated. Still, the princess doesn’t sound convinced by the rumors. We generally use sorcery—and magic—so she must think that we have a sorcerer-type Job, and those without it normally need a magic circle or a chant to perform sorcery.
If Princess Leshimiiya intends to question us about our Job, I’ll need to consider our next move, but she kept silent, as if to show that she had no intention of pursuing the topic.

「Is the Huntsman Job really that uncommon? 」
「It is. There are more Archers than there are Huntsmen, you see.」
「When you put it that way, that does seem to be the case. While Archers are better when it comes to pure archery, Huntsmen are also capable of utilizing traps, among other things.」

There are Jobs like the Huntsman that are a composite of multiple traits, with one example being the Warrior Job. Warriors have a level of mastery when using weapons of various forms, but in exchange, they are less skilled compared to, let’s say, Swordsmen and Spearmen with their specialized weapons. It’s similar to how Sorcerers are generally skilled in various forms of sorcery, but they fall short in flame sorcery when compared to Flame Sorcerers.
Song Princess and Dance Princess also have multiple traits of their Job line, but instead of being a master of none, these two come with a major demerit, making them slightly different from the previous examples.

「That’s about everything regarding the two. For Palra, I would appreciate it if you also avoid unwarranted intervention with her.」
「Of course. Both of them will likely find work here in Ausente, and that’s more than enough.」
「Ausente probably consumes a large amount of magic cores, after all.」
「That’s right. In terms of sorceric tool development and implementation, I’m confident that ours do not fall behind Central’s. In that sense, our nation values hunters more than the average nation.」

It’s precisely why the academy accepts commoners and why we were able to sneak in. Sorceric tools are vital to this country, and so are their energy sources, the magic cores. As a result, hunters, individuals that harvest magic cores, are also equally vital. I’m sure that Ausente would love to have their own den if they could. I wonder if the magic cores harvested in Central are exported to Ausente?
Besides that, the magic pouch we have would be a treasure trove for them. Then again, a pouch crammed with A-rank and higher monster materials would be a treasure for anyone. Speaking of which, I wonder if we can find a use for those herbs we found along with the hairpin-turned-spirit rest stop? At this rate, they might just end up as fertilizer.

「That reminds me, is there anyone connected to the Elbert family you’ve previously mentioned in this academy?」
「Marquis Elbert should not have any kin of academy age, and I haven’t heard of their family enrolling in the academy either. However, if it’s people under their umbrella, there are a few. You can technically consider Miss Belltina as one of them.」
「Well, the Chilandia family is anti-Central, after all.」

I don’t know about Belltina’s personal opinion, but the Chilandia family is undoubtedly anti-Central.
With nobles, the parents’—or rather the family head’s—authority is generally absolute, so you can’t go against their orders. Though Belltina gives me the impression that she’ll disobey one way or another.

「Other than her, Tweisel is likely to be suspicious.」
「The Tweisels are also anti-Central, huh.」

Hearing my words, the then princess had an apologetic expression. At first, I wondered why, but then I realized it was likely because of our affiliation with Central. More than that, we hold a status akin to that of a princess.
It makes sense. Anyone in her position, having to inform an individual of that standing that certain families or factions of her own nation bear hostility toward their homeland, would naturally wear such a conflicted expression.
It doesn’t really bother me, though. After all, the ‘antis’ of the anti-Central faction are most likely not focused on Mother Fii but on the freeloaders that constitute the gathering called Central. Still, perhaps there are some families that actually want to pick a fight with Mother Fii.

「Does the anti-Central faction believe they can win against Mistress Fiiyanamia?」
「Surely they believe they stand a fighting chance, at least.」
「To begin with, what exactly is the anti-Central faction actually against?」
「The queen, Mistress Fiiyanamia… I suppose? The truth of the matter aside, it’s a cause that has quite the impact.」
「That certainly is the case.」
「They probably don’t truly stand in opposition to her; either they have something to gain in taking this stance, or they want to use this as a pretext to overthrow the current monarchy and rule for themselves, at least in my opinion.」
「Is it really alright to share that much?」
「It’s because you are the only other person here, Miss Ailneige. It’s not like you would do anything with this information, and if, hypothetically, you made this public, there isn’t anyone who can rebuke you, is there?」

It was somewhat of a deep topic, which almost seemed like mild grumbling midway, but it sounds like she really was just venting. I suppose that Ailneige is the only one she can confide in with things like these. Though rather than it being because I’m Fiiyanamia’s daughter, it’s probably because of Ailneige’s—Cielmer’s—general temperament.
If we ever make this information public, punishment will likely fall to the princess, but she must have shared it partly to show just how much trust she has in us. I am self-aware of how much I’m leaving the princess to deal with, so I’m willing to handle at least this much mental aftercare. I’m just lending an ear, after all, so it’s not like I need to do anything special.

I will need to discuss this with Ciel, but at worst, we can just pick a fight with Ausente and return to Central.
After that, we had a short exchange with Princess Leshimiiya before heading to the rooftop.

Translator's Note

And that ends this chapter! It looks like Ain is feeling a bit bad about taking advantage of the princess’ kindness too much, lol.

The report on Palra was rather short, showing that this meeting really was mostly concerned about Belltina’s complicated position, lol. It was nice to have a short explanation about composite Jobs, though. Additionally, we had Princess Leshy not so subtly complaining about political grandstanding, which just makes her extra relatable, lol. It was nice seeing her feeling comfortable enough to vent and de-stress, considering how much stress she must be in, partly thanks to our girls.

Now then, I hope you enjoyed this chapter. Please feel free to comment. Stay healthy, stay safe, and have a nice day~!
