Project GB is an official initiative by Re:Library.

After playing with the spirits, Ciel asked, 「Can I ask now?」 the moment we returned to our room. It’d be insensitive to dodge the question at this point, so I mulled over what to start with.

『First off, about Iena, I have a suspicion that she isn’t human.』
「Is that so? I couldn’t really tell, but if she’s not human, then what would she be?」
『I believe she might be a puppet.』
「A puppet… hmm.」

Putting aside what she must be thinking right now, Ciel parroted what I said with a serious expression.

『To see through her concealment, one would probably need the same level of skill required to perceive my barrier, so you should be able to do so soon, I think?』
「Ain, you say that, but you’re improving day-by-day anyway, right? Who knows when I’ll finally be able to catch up to you?」

Ciel puffed her cheeks. While I do feel bad for that, it’s an important part of Ciel’s protection, so please forgive me.
To tell the truth, my concealment ability has increased since the time we entered Central.
My magic power control and Song Princess abilities have also grown since the time I forcefully expanded Viviana’s circuits, so while I do honestly think she’ll be able to do it soon, I certainly have grown.

「There was a being that’s at the same level as Ain’s barrier around, yet why didn’t you tell me?」
『It’s because only her concealment was outstanding; she didn’t appear to have the ability to break through my barrier.』
「But that’s not all, is it?」
『If you heard that she might be a puppet, I was afraid that you’d become overly conscious of her. I don’t believe it to be wise to stand out back then, so I wanted to avoid any possibility of it happening.』
「Mngh… I can’t refute that.」

Ciel has barely any interest in her surroundings. That’s why even when she’s given public attention, she wouldn’t act strangely. On the other hand, she might be moved by her curiosity regardless of how much attention she attracts.
While she’s pouting in displeasure, she does seem to be convinced by my answer.

「So what Ain means to say is that she might be connected to someone who practices puppet sorcery, someone with ties to the puppet sorcery course, right?」
『That’s right. For that reason, we should be able to get our answer soon, or at least find people we can ask from.』
「If she really is a puppet, this is going to be really, really promising!」

By promising, does she mean the prospect of making a container for me?
Even if she can actually make me a body, would it really go well from there?
I guess that’s what we’ll have to verify by attending the course. Anyhow, Ciel having a well-defined objective is a good thing, so I shouldn’t be too pessimistic.

「Would this number of courses be enough?」
『I think it’s fine. If we take too many, we’ll just end up with less free time.』
「Good point. Since we’re free to choose, I’d love to have some leisure time with Ain.」
『The dormitory roof has a nice view, and it might be nice to walk around looking for other calm and peaceful places within the academy grounds.』
「That does sound fun.」

With the party over, it’s finally our first day of learning… Or maybe not.
It’s the equivalent of class orientation day today; can we count that as the first official day? Anyway, it’s the start of class.
Ciel loves sleeping, but it’s not like she had difficulty waking up.

On days she could sleep in, she would sleep for a long time, but otherwise, she’d be awake around sunrise.
Besides, since we started living in the manor, the servants—generally Mohsa, Luna, and Mia—would wake her up, so she’s never overslept.
And in case she does sleep too long, I’d also wake her up, but she has a hard time waking up from my voice.

Maybe due to how I would lull her to sleep, my voice seems to be very relaxing for Ciel and makes her feel drowsy.
And while this isn’t usually the case, it apparently gets really bad when she’s sleepy. Even when I try to wake her up, she’ll drowsily comment, 「Ehehe, it’s Ain~」 and then just go back to sleep.
Which is extremely cute, and isn’t really a problem since it only happens on days we’re not busy.

We crammed our academy necessities into our magic pouch and left for the academy.
But since it’s in the same plot of land, it doesn’t take much time for us to arrive there.
Well, there are some distant locations even within the premises, but the dormitory and our homeroom aren’t that far apart.

As always, even just by walking, Ciel attracts the eyes of people, but no one is actually trying to talk to her.
Come to think of it, even in the schools of my previous world, it’s quite rare for people to try to talk to a complete stranger unprompted. With Ciel’s looks, some might randomly confess to her, but there probably isn’t anyone who’d confess immediately on the first day.

If there was, there’s no need to pay attention to such an inconsiderate fool.

But that reminds me, there were people who started trouble on the day of the welcoming party.
Entering our classroom, Juerd was already present, and there were fewer followers around him. Were they cautioned the other day, or have they perhaps felt it dangerous to stay near Juerd, who had drawn the ire of a noble?
Even so, there are still 4 or 5 people by his side, mostly consisting of nobles.

One is a boy, while the rest are girls. The red-haired Rulinia is among them, possibly to keep an eye on him?
Aside from the followers, there was also the elf girl Siera and a person I don’t know. All I know is that she’s a beastkin and that she may or may not have mentioned a family name during her introduction.
Meanwhile, Juerd himself doesn’t seem to be any bothered by the decrease in people around him.

And that ends this chapter! We’re back to the main story and, unfortunately, also back to the cliffhangers! ARGHHHH!

First half was AinCiel cuteness, particularly Ain gushing about Ciel. Right after we just had Ciel gushing about Ain in the interludes too. Precious. Ciel is finally also informed about Iena’s anomaly, and as expected, she reacted with excitement, adorable. Now at the end, we find Ain observing Juerd; I wonder how he and Alcrei are faring after the ruckus last night.
