Re:Library

World War II-era propeller planes were primarily used for carrying ammunition, but Lin Feng now needed to adapt one for transporting people. He was uncertain if the principal and Old Liu had the expertise to successfully modify a plane for such a different purpose.

(TL: ??? I’ll just use planes instead of fighter planes. It’s more general.)

“Don’t worry, Lin Feng. Old Sen has won numerous awards for modifications in the past. I’m confident that for Old Sen, this isn’t a difficult task. Isn’t that right, Old Sen?” Old Liu said with a chuckle, turning towards the principal.

“It seems I’ll have a chance to relive the thrill of my younger days of modifications, haha. Old Liu, you’ll be assisting me this time.”

“Absolutely.”

“Lin Feng, you might consider using a tow truck, but it’s quite loud and slow,” the principal suggested after some thought.

In their limited-resource situation, a powerful tow truck appeared to be the only feasible option for moving the plane, though its speed was far from ideal.

“Hmm, I’ll think about it,” Lin Feng murmured, contemplating his options.

Later that afternoon, a well-rested Lin Feng drove a small car towards the museum. He hadn’t yet formulated a precise plan but decided first to assess the size of the aircraft. If necessary, he might need to clear a main road or have Hao Jian drive a car with a loud horn to distract the zombies. However, this could potentially attract other powerful entities, like the previously mutated pig zombie, an encounter Lin Feng definitely wanted to avoid.

This was Lin Feng’s first time driving on actual roads. During his driving school days, he had only ever driven slowly in instructor-led vehicles, and he never had the opportunity to officially earn his driver’s license. Although he wasn’t as fast as Hao Jian or the school doctor, it was still faster than his scooter—at least that’s what he initially thought…

A lone zombie slowly made its way onto Lin Feng’s inevitable route.

“Uh, should I turn left or right here?”

Thump!

Well, it didn’t really matter.

Just run it over. Lin Feng glanced briefly at the map on the passenger seat and continued driving.

Fortunately, the trip was smooth; he didn’t encounter any other mutated zombies and arrived safely at his destination.

Upon reaching the massive museum, Lin Feng observed its extensive facade, flanked by two white ivory pillars, with golden letters spelling ‘E City Museum.’ The building resembled the white palaces from his memories, complete with a row of tightly shut windows and large doors secured by a huge lock. The wide playground was littered with some disarrayed clothing and limbs, but there weren’t many zombies.

So absorbed in examining the museum, Lin Feng neglected the road ahead. By the time he realized he needed to turn, it was already too late.

Shoot!

Stop!

Stop!

Panicking, Lin Feng accidentally pressed the accelerator instead of the brake. As the ivory pillar loomed closer, he inwardly cursed his preoccupation with the museum.

The car crashed directly into the pillar, creating a web of cracks. The accident happened so quickly that Lin Feng didn’t have time to activate his time-slowing ability, and his forehead slammed into the steering wheel. The airbag deployed, knocking Lin Feng unconscious, with the horn pressed continuously.

Nearby zombies, attracted by the loud crash, began to slowly converge toward the car. Before long, the initially sparse number of zombies had swarmed around Lin Feng’s sedan, enclosing it completely.

A trickle of red blood slowly ran down the unconscious Lin Feng’s forehead, and the constant honking of the car drew more distant zombies, who steadily approached the scene with their slow, relentless steps.
