“It’s bad, junior! Yan Aoxue is missing!”

“What did you say?” Lin Feng was about to respond, but the chubby man beside him beat him to it, voicing his objection.

“Get lost!Hao Jian, what’s going on?” Lin Feng, attempting to maintain his composure, kicked the still-talking chubby man aside. He took another bite of his steamed bun, turning his attention to Hao Jian.

“We reached the mall and then got this news from the principal. Apparently, Yan Aoxue vanished one day while they were clearing zombies nearby.”

“Didn’t the principal send anyone to look for her?” Lin Feng asked, clearly startled. A sudden disappearance? Why would Yan Aoxue leave the group by herself? Could there be another traitor like Yan Jie in the group?

“They did search, but they haven’t found her. They’re still looking in the area where she disappeared.”

“And does the principal know about the explosion?” Lin Feng continued, his concern evident in his tone. Perhaps Yan Aoxue was actively avoiding her father. He glanced at the chubby man, contemplating.

“Yes, he’s aware. But we don’t have a clear escape plan yet. There’s some good news, though, Lin Feng. In E City’s museum, there’s an old fighter jet that could be repaired and flown.”

“Really? That’s great news. We have 18 days left; we need to make every minute count. Hao Jian, drive me to the principal’s office; I need to understand the situation in detail,” Lin Feng said quickly, finishing his food and getting ready to leave with Hao Jian.

“Can you drive right now? If you’re tired, the school doctor can take me instead.”

“I’m not going; I want to drink,” the school doctor responded, squinting her eyes.

“No problem, junior. I can handle it. It’s only a few hours’ drive if we make good time,” Hao Jian replied, pocketing a can of Red Bull.

“Song Zhe, you stay here and protect the girls,” Lin Feng instructed, seeing Song Zhe’s eagerness to leave.

Initially ready to go, Song Zhe paused, looked at the school doctor, and then nodded in agreement.

As Lin Feng and Hao Jian approached the elevator to go down to the parking lot, the chubby man, unhappy about being excluded, followed them.

“Hey, sister, I’m coming too.”

“You’re not coming. Yan Aoxue is missing, and you’re still thinking about a million? Just go find it yourself. Song Zhe, kick him out after I leave.”

“No, sister, I really want to help. I don’t care about the million anymore,” the chubby man pleaded, tugging at Lin Feng’s clothes. Song Zhe frowned and moved to pull him away.

“Stop calling me sister! Uncle, look at your age! So indecisive and even getting my gender wrong. Hmph. Let go!”

As the chubby man prepared to embrace him, Lin Feng regretted showing any kindness.

“Hey!” Neither Hao Jian nor Song Zhe had encountered the chubby man before. Seeing him clutching Lin Feng’s shoulders, they prepared to draw their weapons.

With a swift kick, Lin Feng pushed the chubby man away, careful not to injure him too much.

This level of persistence was indeed rare. Normally, anyone else would have given up by now.

Lin Feng threw a hand axe on the ground.

“Kill 100 zombies. If I come back in a few days and see their bodies lined up across from the hotel, then I’ll believe you really want to help.” After saying this, Lin Feng straightened his disheveled clothing, gave the chubby man a cold look, and turned towards the open elevator.

The chubby man stood there, staring blankly at the hand axe on the ground.

Back in the lobby, Liu Mengqi, Song Zhe, and the school doctor all sighed.

“Has Lin Feng changed?” Liu Mengqi murmured, watching the chubby man gazing at the hand axe in contemplation.
