Darn it, darn it! They took everything I looked forward to!

The white-haired girl is one of the best in the collection. I was going to play her carefully before I destroyed her with all my heart!

It’s been really long since I was last humiliated like this.

An auction is a merchant’s battlefield, it’s where various goods and information fly about. I’ve been the unrivaled powerhouse on this battlefield.

None of my prey can escape me. I’ve taken all that I wanted by any means necessary. I am the first to understand the situation, the first to find the prey, and the first to bleed it dry. Anyone weaker than me either became ground under my feet or goods to sell to those in power. They are all tools to increase my power.

An unprecedented powerful figure known as the Underworld Emperor one day emerged in the Eville District, and I knew right away that this was an opportunity. I was the first to submit allegiance and contribute money more than anyone else.

The tribute is painfully high, but it is worth every coin. My position in the Eville District has elevated beyond comparison. My previous post is worth nothing to me now.

Furthermore, I’ve got a connection with the Great Magic Nation Zenoah, and I am second to none in financial power. I’ll eventually control the economy of the Eville District, nay, the entire country.

This auction was supposed to be a venue to show off my financial power as I buy up all the female slaves to fuel my past-time hobby.

And yet that Ortissio lad was cocky enough to compete with me, and he kept bidding for all the female slaves one after another. That shameless b̲a̲s̲t̲a̲r̲d̲ was even doing it at the behest of his mistress, that blonde lass. No merchant would spend money recklessly like he did, so he gotta be the son of some well-to-do aristocrat. Look at him going through his family’s fortune like a sieve. He’s gonna bring ruins to his own family, the fool.

At any rate, that spoiled rich brat had ruined my plans.

I wanted to at least bid for the white-haired girl, but I needed at least a billion gold to win against that rich brat. If only I hadn’t just made a tribute to the Underworld Emperor this morning, I coulda raised more…

Ah crud, money ain’t the only way to win an item anyway. I got alternatives, and somebody gotta teach the spoiled brat about how harsh reality is.

I ordered my men to gather the merc.

Ku-ku, he won’t know what hit him!

Ortissio’s making arrangements to receive the slaves, and we can’t touch him when he’s in the auction venue. After all, the Underworld Emperor owned the venue. Causing a commotion here meant throwing mud in his face. It took me a lot to be in this position, I’m not gonna throw it all to waste.

But it’d be different once he left the venue. Murder is commonplace in the Eville District. Folks go missing every day, folks like Ortissio. That kind of dirty stuff is what I’m good at. Take him to some alley and he’s my plaything.

With my mercenaries gathered, we waited for Ortissio to come out.

A few minutes later, something unexpected happened. Ortissios’ mistresses, that blonde lass and an extra, walked out of the venue without escort.

Ku-ku, those lasses are idiots! Don’t they know what kind of place this is? Two weak, defenseless women going out in the Eville District without an escort is the height of folly.

I immediately divided my mercenaries into two groups. The first group would attack Ortissio the moment he and his slaves left the venue, while the other would kidnap Ortissio’s mistresses.

I joined the latter group. That blonde b̲i̲t̲c̲h̲ got on my nerves. I’d punish her good before I joined the slaughter group.

Thus, we followed these b̲i̲t̲c̲h̲e̲s̲.

Dang it, that blondie! For someone so cocky, she’s got a pretty face worthy of sullying. I’m going to enjoy her well after I grab her.

With that in mind, I followed them as they entered a street near a back alley. Pedestrians are getting scarce around here, it’s high time to grab them. I take the opportunity to appear in front of these women to frighten them.

“Hey, you two, come here for a sec!”
“Sure. Let’s go somewhere else where nobody can disturb us.”
“Ho ho ho, glad you’re quick to understand!”

That blonde b̲i̲t̲c̲h̲ looked composed, you’d think she didn’t understand the mess she’s in. Hah, I bet she thinks she’s invincible because she’s some nobleman’s mistress.

Don’t underestimate me. I am a man of the underworld. You think I am afraid of a nobleman’s mistress?

I led these women to the back alley and drove the hobos away. About time to give that blonde a taste of her own medicine. I tell the mercenaries to surround them.

But these women didn’t look the slightest bit afraid, and that blonde even spoke up to me boldly.

“I don’t have to ask, this is about the white-haired girl I won, right?”
“That’s right. I admire your guts, lass. But I think you’ve been a little too much fun.”
“Now listen, I won her legitimately. It’s not your place to complain!”
“Shut up! This is the first time I have ever experienced such humiliation. You will pay for this with your body, lass!”

That was when I told my best mercenaries to attack them…but something unexpected happened.

The other lass, the brown-haired one, beat them all up in no time at all!

These mercenaries were the creams of the crops, and yet that brown-haired lass massacred them with a single blow each. It’s like seeing an adult fighting children, if not worse.

I see. That blonde looks so smug because she’s got that brown-haired lass with her.

Who is this lass?

She must be a Magic Academy student since she’s wearing their uniform, but her strength far surpassed mere students. Maybe she’s not purely human, say, perhaps she’s got the blood of a beast or a dragon in her. Those b̲a̲s̲t̲a̲r̲d̲s̲ got strength far surpassing that of humans.

“Hoh, that’s something else. You treated the guards I paid a lot of money to hire like they were children…”
“And why are you gloating? You’re next.”
“Ho ho. This is Eville district, violence makes the rule here. You think I’m not prepared for this?!”
“What?”
“Here!”

I take out my prized crystal from my pocket and smash it.

At that moment— A transfer magic formation appeared, and mercenaries appeared from within.

Ho ho ho ho. First time I used this, and it sure worked well.

I purchased this crystal for a large sum of money through a merchant from the Great Magic Nation of Zenoah. Upon its destruction, the crystal would summon mercenaries I’ve contracted in advance.

These folks are the most powerful bunch from the most reputable guilds, such as the Adventurers’ Guild, the Bounty Hunters’ Guild, the Criminals’ Guild, and so on.

Some of them hunted a giant beast single-handedly, some of them have killed vicious criminals, all of them are monsters in their field. And then, there’s a man who outclassed even these monsters.

He is taciturn, yet cold-blooded. He is the supernova of the Guild, Mühen.

Now this guy, he’s outright terrifying. He’s a mighty warrior who ripped through a tyrannical band of bandits and renowned martial artists in an instant. He’s a man I would do anything to have as my exclusive contractor. For a rookie who registered with the Adventurers’ Guild just six months ago, his skill is considered to be of the S-rank.

And above all else, he has an obsession to raise his rank. He will greedily accumulate any merit he can within the Guild, and he shows no consideration for anyone whatsoever.
