“You’re being rude to Sir Tieck again!” Remilia arrived shortly after.
Perhaps it was because she knew Tieck was, in fact, Seletina, or maybe it was because she now knew Seletina was a duke’s daughter, but she acted a bit more reserved.
Seletina, who had been hemmed in and otherwise overwhelmed, was finally released, and the caravan’s women who had surrounded her dispersed like startled spiders.
“Those kids are full of energy…!”
“Haha. The girls here are always so lively.”
Remilia arrived, huffing and puffing, as if she had run all the way. She bowed her head to Seletina, wiping away large drops of sweat with a graceful gesture, reminiscent of a skilled woman.
(Does Remilia not get enough exercise?)
Upon closer inspection, Seletina could see a bit of excess flesh in certain areas.
When Seletina was a man, she might have thought of it as a nice, healthy body.
However, from the perspective of a lady who maintained a good diet and style—albeit halfway to Melia’s standards—it still appeared somewhat flabby.
(Still, not saying anything is what a lady should do.)
Despite noticing, Seletina pretended not to acknowledge it and maintained a smile as she tended to Remilia.
“You didn’t need to rush.” she reassured.
“No, no. You’re an important guest. Did you come with Vivicy?” Remilia inquired, noticing Vivicy hiding in Seletina’s shadow.
“Yes, she guided me here.”
“I see… Thank you, Vivicy. You may return to your duties.”
“O-Okay! S-See you again, Sir Tieck…”
“See you.” Seletina replied warmly.
With a wave of her hand, Vivicy scurried off, leaving Seletina to offer her a soft smile. Then, blushing and turning red as a tomato, Vivicy hurried away.
(What a busy girl.)
Unaware that her lips had been stolen, Seletina scratched the back of her head awkwardly.
“Did something happen with her?” Remilia asked.
“What? N-No, I don’t think so…”
Seletina answered with a strange expression. Seletina did find the whole situation a bit amusing, however, she had no intention about digging any further.
Remilia seemed slightly relieved after finding out that nothing bad had happened. It would be troublesome if she discovered that something had occurred involving the daughter of a prestigious duke.
“So, what can I do for you, Sir Tieck? We’re currently unloading our cargo as per your instructions,” Remilia inquired.
“I’d be happy to assist in any way I can. I’m sure you could use an extra pair of hands,” Seletina offered.
“You want to help? That’s great but…”
Remilia couldn’t find the words.
It felt too overwhelming to have a duke’s daughter assist with the cargo unloading.
Additionally, considering her slender frame, it seemed impractical to entrust her with the heavy lifting involved in loading and unloading.
“Anything is fine. I don’t want to inconvenience you or burden the caravan, so if there’s anything I can do to help, I’m willing to do it…”
“That’s…”
Remilia hesitated to respond, appearing troubled. But before she could speak further, a thick, boyish voice interjected, “Then lend a hand here. We’re short on manpower.”
Turning towards the voice, they spotted a boy of roughly the same age as Seletina, clad in thick overalls with a slightly chubby figure. He wore goggles typically worn by dragon riders and was approaching them while carrying a large package.
“Sure thing! I’ll do anything to help.” Seletina eagerly exclaimed, her eyes brightening.
(So there really was something I could do!)
Seletina exclaimed inwardly, feeling relieved that Remilia’s hesitation seemed to have passed.
“Gabutu, you can’t do that. As you can see, Sir Tieck isn’t exactly built for heavy lifting,” Remilia explained to the boy.
Gabutu’s lips twitched, and he shook his tousled orange hair in response.
“I can see that much. I’m not letting a skinny guy like him handle my precious cargo,” Gabutu retorted.
“What? Then what exactly do you plan to make Sir Tieck do?”
“That’s a secret, so just lend him to me.”
Without further ado, Gabutu swiftly grabbed Seletina’s hand and pulled her away from Remilia.
“Hey! Wait a minute!” Remilia called out, but it was too late. Seletina and Gabutu were already disappearing from her sight. “I hope nothing goes wrong…” Remilia muttered anxiously to herself, feeling a sense of unease. All she could do was exhale shallowly and hope that nothing bad would happen.
