The Flower Sprite King was a level 17 Rare boss. It dropped a sleek black bow surrounded by a faint glow, a pure white cloth robe, a few gold coins, and some unfamiliar crafting materials.

Snowy picked up the loot and posted the item stats to the party chat.

Obsidian Bow
Grade Rare
Required Level 16
Physical Attack 27–41
Dexterity +21
Strength +19
Special Effect Pursuit – Every five normal attacks, resets basic attack cooldown.
Description Durable and powerful precision weapon.

Its attack power far exceeded the Common bow Nangong was currently using, and both Dexterity and Strength were exactly the stats he was lacking. The Pursuit special effect essentially allowed a free extra basic attack every five hits—effectively increasing DPS by 20%, not counting skill damage.

For Dexterity-based classes like Archers and Assassins, who relied heavily on basic attacks, this bow greatly amplified their combat efficiency.

“Ooh, Nangong can finally go all night~” Zaria teased with a mischievous grin.

Seraphine and Dukeette both covered their mouths and giggled, while Snowy nodded seriously, “Yes. With the Obsidian Bow, Nangong’s damage output should double.”

“Hey! Don’t corrupt Snowy! She’s still pure!”
“Huh?” Snowy’s bright, innocent eyes filled with confusion.
“It’s nothing, nothing—let’s check the next item.”
“Oh… okay.”

Windhealing Robe
Grade Rare
Required Level 16
Defense 10
HP +100
Vitality +5
Intelligence +17
Wisdom +22
Special Effect +150 healing to Heal.
+300 healing to Refresh.
Description A common robe worn by apprentice Priests, enhances healing capabilities.

It was their first time seeing healing-oriented gear—and as a piece of armor, no less! It not only significantly improved a Priest’s survivability, but the massive boosts to Wisdom and Intelligence increased mana pool, healing output, and mana regeneration.

In prolonged battles, even a high mana pool was never enough for Priests. That’s why learning how to manage skills efficiently and avoid overhealing was a must for high-level healers.

And this Windhealing Robe came with two extremely valuable effects—massively boosting healing!

At early levels, the healing from Heal was pretty limited. Without gear, a Priest’s magic attack barely affected healing output, so the actual heal wasn’t much more than the skill’s base value.

But this robe added 150 points flat. What did 150 mean in practice? Let’s put it this way—most ordinary players had less than 1,000 HP, except for Knights or the rare few who heavily invested in Vitality. With this robe equipped, Dukeette or Seraphine could fire off a single instant Heal that restored at least 400 HP!

Combine that with Refresh, those two skills together could heal as much as an entire health bar for a typical player.

“Seraphine, Dukeette—Priest gear up for grabs! Which one of you wants it?” Snowy held the robe in her hands and gave it a shake.

Their eyes lit up like rubies, clearly seeing a treasure before them.

But Dukeette composed herself first and stroked an imaginary beard. “Let Seraphine have it. After all, I am her father.”

A vein popped on Seraphine’s forehead. “Dukeette, are you asking for death? Take this!”

This time, clearing out the ghouls wasn’t nearly as messy as before—thanks to proper preparation. Only one stray ghoul managed to land a hit on Zane, but it was quickly blasted apart by Flameburst.

In small-scale skirmishes, the Wishkeeper class was practically broken—tons of AoE crowd control skills and even the ability to alter terrain.

This batch of ghouls was just as stingy as the last. No gear drops, just a handful of gold coins. Exactly enough for three per person.

YoyoPink clutched her coins, and suddenly, her eyes welled up.

“W-what’s wrong??” Endless Sea asked in a panic. He was especially weak to girls crying.

Sniff sniff. This is the first time… I’ve ever earned gold in a game! Sniff. You’re all so nice!”

Zane nearly had a heart attack. He thought something serious had happened.

“There, there. You earned it. Just do your part and you’ll always have a place,” Zane said, controlling Starry to give her a comforting pat on the shoulder. At a time like this, it was better to let Starry, being female, offer a few kind words.

“Your strength is truly impressive,” Fia said softly.

Zane had almost forgotten she was there until she spoke.

“Well? Do you believe in us now?”

“I just hope… you’re worthy of that trust,” Fia replied quietly.

Ding!

System Notification: Fia has issued an A-rank quest,
“Purge the Undead.”
Would you like to accept it?

Purge the Undead? God knows how many undeads are still roaming in Saintbloom Village… Ugh, forget it.

Accept!

Fia’s expression softened. “Brave adventurers, please be careful. Near the Spring of Life, a powerful Death Knight stands watch. Do not engage him recklessly, or else…”

“Death Knight? Is he that strong?”

“At the very least… those ghouls wouldn’t survive a single strike from him,” Fia said with a grave look.

That sounds pretty terrifying.

But there was another problem, HP regeneration was too slow. Without a Priest, they’d be here healing until the end of time. Returning to town for supplies wasn’t ideal either. On the way back, they might run into Rainflower’s crew again. While not a serious threat, a slip-up could still cost them a level—and that would sting.

Better to scout ahead first.

The nearby ghouls seemed to be limited to just two groups, both of which they had already cleared. The road ahead was nothing but desolation.

At one point, they spotted a dead tree—but it turned out to be a Treant. Still, it was only a level 20 Rare mob. A quick focus fire brought it down in seconds.

“Fia, how much farther?”

Floating ahead, Fia replied slowly, “At this pace, we should reach the village in about ten minutes.”

“Is there anything left in the village?”

She shook her head. “The foolish ghouls have ruined almost everything. What remains… is nothing but shattered walls and rubble.”

“…”

Ten minutes later, just as Fia had said, a ruined village came into view—barely distinguishable from a field of debris.

“We’re here,” she said, eyes full of sorrow.
“Leave it to us,” Zane promised.

At that moment, a wave of ghouls charged out from within the ruins, heading straight for them.

Tsk—we’ve been spotted.

“Same formation as before!” Zane called out immediately.

“Got it!”

By the Spring of Life, a figure cloaked in death energy leaned lazily against the flank of a skeletal warhorse. As if hearing something, he slowly stood up. “Come out, ignorant humans,” the Death Knight said coldly.

Half a minute passed, and then a woman stepped into view—her striking figure clad in silver-white leather armor, a long jade-green bow in hand that radiated deadly force.

“You sensed me?”

“Hmph. A fledgling Twilight Ranger? Has your master not yet taught you how to mask that disgusting stench of yours?” the Death Knight growled. “To trespass in territory of the Dark Faction—don’t think you’ll leave here alive!”

“We’ll see about that,” Windblossom replied, raising her bow.
