Oh no! Just as Rainflower Traceless was about to retreat, the Autumn Moon Sword came slashing in at an angle.
Nearly half his HP vanished in a single strike! He staggered back several steps, his face turning pale as he shouted, “Forget those few—kill Stardust! Whoever lands the final blow gets 10,000!”
The other assassins, eyes flashing red with greed, turned around and abandoned the other four players.
“Damn it, Stardust’s in danger!” Endless Sea cursed.
Taunt!
Come back here!
One assassin blankly turned around and charged at Endless Sea, thrusting his weapon toward the shield.

With over 3,000 HP, Endless Sea easily ignored the minor hit. But clearly, he wasn’t satisfied with just pulling one assassin. His Fractured Hammer, carrying the weight of a thousand pounds, smashed into another retreating assassin, sending him flying!

The strength gap was just too great!
“Nice one!” Shiu couldn’t help but exclaim.
Flameburst!
Mana Surge!
Then he followed up with the mage’s strongest two-hit combo.

In just one combo, an assassin was blasted to near death.
Zane, controlling his main body, followed up with a staff strike.

One down!
“Contract Summon—Lordsey!” A magic circle appeared, and Lordsey materialized.
“Please, take them down!” YoyoPink urged.
Lordsey glanced around and quickly grasped the situation, “Understood.”
Swift Step!
The already agile goblin became even faster, instantly catching up with a retreating assassin. He pulled out his massive club and delivered a heavy strike!
“Wha—?!” The assassin up ahead clearly hadn’t expected the goblin to move so fast. He had no time to react before a massive hit landed.

And he was stunned on the spot.
Lordsey casually picked up a few stones from the ground and threw them.

After three consecutive throws, that assassin was sent straight back to Wynwater City.
“Damn, is that goblin possessed or something?” muttered another assassin who had witnessed the entire scene.
He had seen goblins summoned by other summoners before. Once contracted as player pets, their stats would drop significantly. They were never very strong to begin with—and after the nerf, barely a threat. But this damage… was insane!
“Stop staring! It’s heading your way!”
“Damn, getting killed by a goblin? I’d never live that down. I’m outta here!”
Endless Sea said helplessly, “That thing’s stronger than all of us combined.”
Even Shiu was stunned. Was summoning always this powerful?
On the other side of the battlefield, Rainflower Traceless reluctantly chugged a high-grade HP potion.

The health he had lost was mostly restored in an instant.
Having witnessed Starry’s insane damage output, he didn’t dare take hits head-on anymore. He shifted to a delay tactic, planning to stall until reinforcements arrived for a coordinated attack.
But his potions were almost gone—and still, no one came to help.
“What the hell are you all doing???” he roared in frustration. Just then, he saw an agile goblin chasing two assassins. With two flying pebbles, it dealt over 200 damage each and finished off the last slivers of their HP.
“…” He didn’t even get to finish his next sentence—Autumn Moon Sword pierced straight through his chest.

Rainflower Traceless was dead.
After sweeping the battlefield, they tallied a total of 16 assassins. Since many were killed before they could even make a move, only a few ended up marked red.
The loot included just one Rare item, two Uncommon pieces of equipment, and nothing else. It was unclear whether the drop rate was just that low—or if the assassins were simply that miserable.

It was an excellent mage headgear—boosting both Intelligence and Wisdom. Mages, Summoners, Priests, and even Bards could make good use of it.
This headgear had dropped from Rainflower Traceless. His strength was considered above average among regular players—within the Rainflower Guild, he was even seen as a minor expert. Unfortunately, his first real outing ended with handing a Rare item to the enemy. Just estimating, it was probably worth at least 3,000 RMB. He was likely crying by now.
The other two Uncommon items weren’t anything special and were given to YoyoPink, whose gear was the weakest among those present.
“We should get moving. That last fight turned us all into red-names,” Zane said. “Let’s head over there and grind for a bit to clear the PvP status.”
As a side note, initiating attacks on other players outside the city would turn you into a Player Killer. The PvP status came with a value—higher value meant higher drop rate upon death. Generally, once PvP value exceeded 20, dying would result in dropping all your equipment, including what you were wearing.
For each player kill while flagged as a Player Killer, one PvP point would be added. Conversely, staying in combat with wild monsters for a full hour would reduce the PvP point count by one. For now, they needed to avoid crowded areas—not just to stay off Rainflower Guild’s radar, but also because most regular players had no love for those marked with PvP status.
Moreover, YoyoPink had the highest PvP value—7 points. After all, kills by summoned pets still counted toward their summoner.
…
Elna had once said that beyond the Grayridge Plains, there was a small stream. On the far side of that stream had once stood a thriving village.
Sadly, in recent years, the Light Faction had been steadily retreating, its defense lines shrinking. War had eventually reached that village. As a result, the place had already been overrun by ghouls half a year ago.
For reasons unknown, the Dark Faction had remained quiet over the past six months. Yet every time the humans tried sending scouts to gather intel, not a single one ever returned.
That village was called Saintbloom Village; a name that didn’t quite feel like it belonged to a “village,” yet no one mocked it. Because near Saintbloom Village, there was a spring—the Spring of Life.
The villagers referred to its water as Saintbloom Water. It was crystal clear and said to cure all illnesses.
Of course, that was a bit of an exaggeration. But long-term drinking of the spring did help prevent minor illnesses and promote longevity. Not to mention—the wine brewed from Saintbloom Water was absolutely delicious. Everyone who tried it sang its praises.
Thanks to the Spring of Life, Saintbloom Village had grown wealthy. But prosperity didn’t last. The village was now a playground for the undead and ghouls. The spring itself was likely already corrupted. Still, they had to see it with their own eyes to be sure.
Elna had mentioned that wine brewed from Saintbloom Water might even lure out the one known as The Mad Blade.
“Why is the stream water black…” Shiu leaned closer to inspect. “It looks like oil.”
“If it really were oil, we’d be rich,” Zane chuckled. “Most likely, the stream’s been polluted by undead creatures.”
Sure enough, one glance at the land showed everything charred and blackened. Trees had nearly vanished, and the few remaining plants radiated an ominous aura—likely having turned into monsters.
“Guh…” YoyoPink gulped and said uneasily, “Are we really grinding in a place like this?”
“Yes. There’s nothing to be afraid of, really. Just think of it as exploring a horror-themed map,” Zane reassured her.
“Undead, huh? Sounds way more advanced than goblins! Looks like we get to go on another rampage today!” Endless Sea gripped his Fractured Hammer, itching for a fight.
“Hmph! Foolish humans. The undead lack even a shred of goblin cunning,” Lordsey said coldly.
“So this is what map exploration feels like. If I were alone, I’d never dare come here. I’d probably still be grinding Gray Wolves,” Shiu said, eyes gleaming with anticipation.
