Waves of Mana Surges, Flamebursts, and Charged Arrows intertwined into a massive onslaught, crashing toward Starry like a flood.
Visually, it looked terrifying, but these kinds of fixed-position attacks were fairly easy to dodge—especially now that Zane had the Pride of the Wolf Clan buff. Over 70% of incoming attacks missed him entirely.
Damage numbers floated up from his body:
…
No good—Mana Surge hits way too hard! Starry only had 610 HP, and under the concentrated fire, she was instantly brought down to critical health.
+400
She quickly chugged a potion, restoring most of her HP.
“I’ve had enough! Are you all just professional body-outline painters or what?! At least half of your attacks missed!” Rainflower Drake roared in frustration.
“…Didn’t you miss too, boss?” a young Mage mumbled timidly.
“Hmm? Say that again?”
“…” The Mage shut up immediately, too scared to speak.
“Don’t let up the pressure! Knights in the back—get in position to surround her! The moment you’re close enough, Taunt immediately! I want to see what tricks this Stardust has left!” Rainflower Drake bellowed.
This is bad! It’s game over if the Knights close in. I have to break through before their cooldowns reset.
The first step was to take out the commander. His eyes turned sharp. He activated Rapid Stride and charged at Rainflower Drake.
“Boss, watch out!”
Seeing his enemy charging full-force, Rainflower Drake let out a cold laugh. “Fool! Everyone, target where I mark! If she dares to come close, she’s going to pay the price!”
“Yes, sir!” his team responded in unison, launching their attacks together.
“Wait—not yet! I didn’t mean now!”
But it was too late. In the slight gap between attacks, Zane found an opening and closed the distance to Rainflower Drake.

Two quick normal attacks landed—yet Rainflower Drake still had a sliver of HP left!
“Hahaha, you think that’s eno—” Before he could finish his sentence, Starry followed up with an Icy Moon Slash.

The flurry of attacks came so fast that the Priests didn’t even have time to heal. Rainflower Drake turned into white light and vanished—killed on the spot.
“Are you serious?! She just tanked dozens of attacks and still managed to burst down the boss?!”
The formation fell into brief chaos.
Bone Shield!
With the shield up, all incoming damage was reduced by 30%. Time to push through!
“Calm the hell down! He’s just been sent back to town, that’s all! Keep the focus fire going!” Rainflower Spark yelled.
But it was too late—Zane had already figured it out. As long as he avoided the Mages’ attacks, the Archers couldn’t deal meaningful damage to Starry, thanks to her defense. With that, the rate of HP loss slowed dramatically.
Thirty seconds later, Starry cut through the ranged squad and made her escape toward the distant treeline.
That was close… I had underestimated the enemy. Fortunately, their coordination and leadership fell apart the moment the guild leader died. That gave me the opening I needed— Otherwise, I would’ve already been focus-fired into oblivion.
…
“Stop right there!” A sharp, grating voice rang out.
Zane turned around and saw— a Goblin. At this point, there were no Rainflower players in sight anymore.
Looks like we already entered the heart of the Goblin camp. The Rainflower guild probably haven’t cleared out the monsters ahead yet. Then again, it made sense, this is a huge map. No way they could wipe out all the Goblins that quickly.
| Spear-Wielding Goblin | |
|---|---|
| Grade | Rare |
| Level | 15 |
| HP | 750 |
| Attack | 45–50 |
| Defense | 23 |
| Skills | Thrust, Sweep |
| Description | One of the physically stronger individuals among goblins. |
Thrust was likely a high-damage single-target skill, while Sweep was probably an arc-shaped AoE. Given the long reach of a spear, once Taunt wore off, this thing could probably go straight for the backline. For players, that made them pretty difficult to handle.
But… even so, these stats were still underwhelming—the Skeletons in the underground passage were way tougher than this.
“You talking to me?” Starry tilted her head, feigning confusion.
“That’s right! How did a human sneak in here?!”
“Ah, well…”
Sneak in? More like fighting my way in. Has he not noticed that most of his fellow goblins are already dead?
“What do you mean ‘ah’? Since you barged in here—Brothers, tie her up!” the Spear-Wielding Goblin shouted, raising his weapon.
At some point, six more Spear-Wielding Goblins had appeared around them.
“Awooooo—!” Zane let out a sudden, loud wolf howl—just to scare them.
But to his surprise, the goblins looked like they’d heard something truly terrifying. They turned and bolted on the spot!
…What the hell? By normal standards, this form is just a regular Gray Wolf, right? Why are they so afraid? Could it be… a side effect of Pride of the Wolf Clan?
Zane didn’t know for sure. But he decided to follow them and find out.
…
After passing through several narrow paths, a massive goblin camp came into view.
This must be their main base.
The goblins who had just fled hurried into the largest tent in the center. Just in case, Zane decided to scout ahead as a Wishkeeper.
Shapeshift!
And just like that, the blonde, green-eyed loli appeared—though the bone armor set still looked pretty intimidating.
He hadn’t noticed it much while in Gray Wolf form, but seeing it now from Starry’s perspective, there was definitely something… off about it.
Yeah, I should really check the auction house later. I have over 30 gold coins now!
Just as he was about to head into the tent— Shiu messaged him. “Zane, when are you gonna move out, man? I’ve been waiting so long, the flowers on my screen wilted. You know what? I just watched a clip of that pro you’re with—she went SEVEN IN, SEVEN OUT through Rainflower’s formation with a pet! I’m almost ready to join her fan club!”
“…I forgot to tell you.”
“Huh?”
“I, uh… already went in with her.”
“???”
“…”
“BRO— I waited for you for half an hour, and now you tell me you already went in and did the raid?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!” Shiu was losing it.
“Relax! I had a huge haul today—made over 30 gold coins!” Zane quickly changed the subject.
“30 gold?! You’re not messing with me, right? Do you even know what gold is worth right now?” Shiu exclaimed, clearly shocked. Looks like Zane’s attempt to change the subject had actually worked.
“How much?” Zane asked, suddenly curious.
“1 to 300! Gold coins prices in the early game are absolutely insane. Pretty much only rich kids or top-tier guilds can even think about buying gold coins this early. Even then, it’s still in short supply—monsters barely drop any, and everything costs money. Repairing gear, buying potions—it’s all expensive. If your gold coins are real, then you’re sitting on 10,000 RMB! You’ve already made back your initial investment and profited 5,000!”
“Holy crap—when I get back, I’ll hand you the gold. You sell it for me and keep half!” Zane said decisively.
“Deal! But make sure to keep some cash on hand. Early game is seriously short on funds,” Shiu reminded him.
“Ok, ok. I’m gonna get back to it.”
“Alright…” Shiu trailed off, puzzled. Why had he contacted Zane in the first place again? He couldn’t remember.
Zane, meanwhile, was struck by another thought— So gold coins are really that valuable… That means those two Talismans of Exorcism I bought earlier were each worth 300 RMB?! Damn that shady merchant… Just wait until I make it big—I’ll settle the score with you someday! Zane swore to himself.
