But where exactly is Cloudshadow Valley? It’s probably a new map unlocked as of today.
Rainflower Guild definitely needed to be put in their place. Otherwise, in Wynwater City, they’d constantly be running into each other—and that would only lead to more trouble.
But before that, there was something even more important to do. They needed to find the Wolf Alpha.
Zane activated the mechanism Elna had mentioned, revealing a hidden cave. Following the passage, they actually ended up back in Grayridge Plains!
“Elna, we’re heading to see the Alpha now. You should return to the city—there’s no need to hide anymore. Go see your real brother!” Zane said with a smile.
“I want to go with you…” Elna hesitated. “I’m afraid that if I go back now, I won’t be able to find you again.”
“That won’t happen. We’ll be in Wynwater City for a long time, so if you need us, you’ll definitely be able to find us.”
“…Alright, then I’ll head back first.” She nodded.
“See you later,” Zane waved.
…
Returning to his Gray Wolf form, Zane swaggered into the wolf pack—with Starry on his back.
“Chief! I’ve wiped out those damn undead! But that mysterious man managed to escape—I couldn’t stop him.” His opening words were utterly shocking.
The Gray Wolf Alpha’s eyelid twitched. “…Kid, do you even know what you’re saying?”
“Of course! If you don’t believe me, check the magic fluctuations at the tomb—I just came from there.”
The Alpha closed its eyes, maintaining a calm expression as it focused. A moment later, its blood-red eyes snapped open—filled with astonishment. “It’s… actually true! Kid, did you really do this?” The Alpha asked, now completely serious.
It knew better than anyone just how powerful that mysterious man was. The idea that he had been taken down by a single young wolf was… unbelievable.
“It wasn’t just me. My pet helped… and the Wishkeeper.”
“The Wishkeeper?! She’s still alive?”
“Sort of. She’s an undead now.” Zane replied casually.
“I see… so that’s how you managed to pull it off—with her help.”
Hey, hey, hold up—is he looking down on me?! I am the great— …Wait. What even was I? …A mount? …Okay, fine. I am just a mount.
“No matter what, you’ve made a great contribution to the Gray Wolf Clan. This is your honor.”
Ding!
System Notification: You have obtained the title “Pride of the Wolf Clan.” Luck +3.
| Pride of the Wolf Clan | |
|---|---|
| Effect | All attacks +10% +30% Movement Speed (in Gray Wolf form) “Sprint” evolves into “Rapid Stride” |
| Description | Recognized by the Gray Wolf Alpha as that legendary werewolf. |
The description was short, but these stats were insane—easily viable even in the late game!
+10% Attack Power. That meant his growth rate was 1.1 times higher than other players! The later the game progressed, the more broken this buff would become! And +30% Movement Speed in wolf form? He’d be even more perfect as a mount—
Wait. This sneaky old wolf… was he trying to trick me into being a permanent mount?!
…
Also, the +3 Luck boost was unexpected. Luck was an extremely rare stat, and Zane had no idea how it actually influenced things in-game.
After parting ways with the Alpha, Zane returned to human form.
First things first— I need to stock up on potions in town. I might need them soon. And then accept the Cloudshadow Valley quest—it’s not like I’m going just for PvP, right?
At Wynwater City’s west gate, there was some commotion. It was Elna.
Just as expected, the air was filled with whispers and murmurs—all about the Wishkeeper. The people of Wynwater City had never truly forgotten. They had simply chosen to remain silent. But deep down—they still remembered the genius girl of the past.
…
“Cloudshadow Valley? That place is completely overrun by those aggressive goblins now. No idea where they came from, but thousands of them just popped up out of nowhere! I caught a glimpse of them while heading out earlier, and let me tell you—I nearly turned green from fear!”
“…” This general store owner sure can talk.
“Are you guys heading to Cloudshadow Valley? Perfect timing! I’m looking to stock up on goblin pelts. If you can bring some back for me, I’ll buy them off you—at a fair price, of course.”
Ding!
System Notification: Jeno has issued a B-rank quest,
“Collect Goblin Pelts (0/100).”
Would you like to accept it?
Accept!
“I’ll take as many as you can get! Feel free to collect extra.”
After that, Zane stopped by the potion shop and bought 30 High-Grade HP Potions—which, unfortunately, was still the best option available.
What a rip-off. In his Wishkeeper form, Zane’s HP was nearly 6000, and these potions only restored 400 per use. What a joke!
Was Wishkeeper just that broken? No, more likely, the game was nudging players to level up their Alchemist profession—or at least team up with one.
Oh, right! I still haven’t chosen a secondary profession. Eh, whatever. Cloudshadow Valley first—I can deal with that later.
Since Wishkeeper burned through MP pretty fast, Zane also bought 30 MP potions—should be enough. Probably.

Cloudshadow Valley
After walking straight north for ten minutes, the system notified them that they had entered a new map.
“Hold it right there, you two. This area is Rainflower Guild’s leveling ground.”
Zane looked up and saw two knights blocking the way. One had the ID “Rainflower Years”, and the other was “Rainflower Tempest.” One on the left, one on the right—completely blocking the entrance. And it wasn’t just them. Looking around, Zane saw at least a dozen more players standing guard.
Zane feigned confusion. “Rainflower’s leveling ground? First I’ve heard of it.”
“Come on, bro. Look how many people we have—reserving a grinding spot isn’t unreasonable, right?” Rainflower Tempest said casually. “If you’re smart, just walk away. No need to make things difficult. Wouldn’t wanna get one-shotted in front of your girlfriend, right? That’d be embarrassing.”
“Yeah, man! Your girl’s watching!” Rainflower Years added.
“Oh… is that so?” Zane nodded thoughtfully. “Then I guess… I’ll just find another spot.” With that, he turned around and walked away.
A few moments later, Rainflower Years frowned. “Something about that Emberveil guy feels really familiar…”
Rainflower Tempest shrugged. “Dude, there are thousands of players. Of course some names will sound similar. Don’t overthink it.”
“No, seriously! I’m sure I’ve seen that name before… Stardust… Emberveil… Wait… HOLY S̲H̲I̲T̲! Aren’t those the top two players on the Wynwater City level rankings?!”
“WHAT?!” Rainflower Tempest immediately pulled up the rankings. “No way… IT’S REALLY THEM!”
…
Did Zane actually leave? Of course not. He just needed to find a hidden spot to shapeshift into Gray Wolf form before the fight started.
Why not use Elna’s form instead? Because this kind of battle was better suited for a Gray Wolf. With Pride of the Wolf Clan title and the evolved Rapid Stride, he could probably match the Alpha in speed now. With a movement speed advantage, their chances against Rainflower’s massive numbers would be much higher.
Just now, Zane had checked the knights’ levels—both were Level 11. Other than their starter gear, they had almost no additional equipment. Which made sense. It was only Day 2 of the game. Most guilds distributed equipment based on contribution and necessity—though the actual management strategy depended on the leadership.
Zane took a moment to check the Knight class growth ratings.
