“Zanny?! It really is you!” Zaria exclaimed, leaping onto him with excitement.

This girl… She wouldn’t even believe me unless I messaged her to confirm. Zane sighed and silently put his phone away.

“As real as it gets,” Zane replied.

“You have no idea how exhausting it’s been leveling alone! Nangong and Snowy aren’t even in this Beginner Village. I only managed to buy a gaming helmet this afternoon, and I’ve been grinding nonstop ever since,” Zaria complained. Then, her gaze sharpened as she pointed at Starry. “Who’s she?”

“She’s… a pro player I met while farming earlier. She’s way stronger than me, so I teamed up with her to soak up some extra EXP,” Zane explained after a brief pause.

“Nice to meet you, I’m Stardust, but just call me Starry,” Zane said, controlling Starry to step forward.

“I’m Zanny’s Cousin, but just call me Zaria! Since you’re Zanny’s friend, that makes you my friend too!” Zaria grinned, extending her right hand.

Starry shook it politely.

“Oh, right, Zanny, why did you change your ID?” Zaria tilted her head in confusion.

“Someone sniped it before I could register… No choice but to use this one. Were those people earlier your party members?”

“Yeah, we all started playing in the afternoon. Solo grinding was way too rough, so we figured grouping up would make things easier. We ended up forming a five-man party and got pretty familiar with each other after grinding for a while,” Zaria recalled. “Then, we found that boss and thought we could just run if we couldn’t kill it… But we still got wiped. If you hadn’t been here, I would’ve dropped back to level 5.”

“No wonder I heard someone screaming for help…”

“It wasn’t me!” Zaria hurriedly clarified.

“I never said it was you…” She totally exposed herself. Well, whatever—I won’t call her out on it.

“Zaria, I’m heading off to class-advance first. Let’s add each other as friends. Once we’re both level 10 and out of the village, we can grind together.”

Wynwater City was one of the five major frontline towns where the two factions clashed.

Sunlight shone down on modest yet sturdy buildings. The streets were bright and spacious, filled with bustling merchants, carriages, and lively chatter. Kids in simple clothing ran around, playing happily. The number of NPCs here was at least a hundred times that of a Beginner Village!

Armed guards patrolled the town at regular intervals. Their names were displayed as ???, which made one thing clear—if a player killer showed up here, they’d be obliterated instantly.

Alright… Time to class-advance!

Since each class mentor had their own responsibilities and couldn’t always stay in one place, the Empire had set up Class Guidance Halls in all five frontline towns.

It was said that the class mentor NPCs there would help players choose the most suitable class based on their playstyle. Of course, this was just a rumor. Very few players had reached level 10 yet.

The Class Guidance Hall was conveniently located right next to the teleportation point—impossible to miss.
