The three of them moved forward cautiously, aiming to deal a solid first strike before the boar noticed their intent to attack.

Crunch.

Zane accidentally stepped on a stone. The wild boar immediately woke up and shook its body.

“Damn it, attack now!” Endless Sea yelled and lunged forward with his sword. By sheer coincidence, his strike landed on the boar’s head.

-16

A blue-colored weak-point damage number appeared.

“What?” Endless Sea’s jaw nearly dropped. “Even a weak-point attack only deals this much damage?”

“Brother Sea, you’re too weak. Watch this!” Zane said coolly, swinging his sword with confidence.

-3

“…” Zane quietly hid his sword behind him, pretending to look elsewhere.

As expected, the boar was now fully enraged by the pain and locked its eyes on Endless Sea, ignoring Zane completely. The boar’s fury was directed at the one who had dared to stab it first.

“Damn you, coward!” Endless Sea cursed under his breath and turned to run.

Zane clasped his hands together. “Good luck out there, brother.”

But Endless Sea was only the decoy. The real attack would come from Starry. The moment the boar charged toward Endless Sea, Starry made her move.

The boar’s head was clearly a weak point, something they had already observed. All that was left was to maximize the damage dealt. Recalling the techniques Starry had used in his dreams, Zane suddenly had a burst of inspiration.

Step and swing!

-134

The Autumn Moon Sword slashed violently across the boar’s head, leaving a deep, visible gash. But it wasn’t over yet.

Starry gripped the hilt of the sword with both hands and, using the momentum of her first swing, traced a small arc in the air, redirecting the blade toward the boar’s tail!

-50

Zane’s initial plan had been to execute a second strike on the boar’s head. Unfortunately, he couldn’t replicate the seamless control that Starry herself had demonstrated in his dreams. His attempt was a crude imitation, and the boar managed to move its body away from most of the blow.

Even so, the combined attacks dealt a total of 184 damage, and with the minor scratches from Zane and Endless Sea’s earlier strikes, the mutated boar’s HP dropped to 297 in one exchange!

The boar stopped in its tracks, its crimson eyes glaring furiously at Starry. Blood streamed down its head as it kicked the ground in rage.

Understandably so—200 HP was no small loss. The boar was now furious, and it couldn’t hold itself back any longer.

Endless Sea, sensing something was off, suddenly halted his retreat and turned around. What he saw shocked him. The boar’s HP bar had plummeted by nearly two-fifths! Endless Sea quickly pulled up the system notifications.

System Notification: Starry dealt 134 damage to the mutated wild boar with a normal attack.

System Notification: Starry dealt 50 damage to the mutated wild boar with a normal attack.

His voice trembled as he shouted, “Miss, are you using hacks?!”

“Stop wasting time and get back here to attack!” Zane yelled.

“Right! If we keep this pace, we might actually pull this off!” Endless Sea said excitedly as he dashed back to rejoin the fight.

At that moment, the boar let out a roar and charged forward. It activated its skill, Furious Charge! The boar charged with a speed that rivaled a racing athlete at full sprint!

Starry’s body reacted instinctively, stepping to the right, dodging completely out of the boar’s charging path.

Safe…

Or not! Zane’s main body hadn’t dodged yet!

In desperation, Zane raised his sword horizontally in front of him. The charging boar, as terrifying as the Grim Reaper itself, barreled toward him. Swallowing nervously, Zane prayed he could block the attack.

“Shhhrk—” The durability of the Worn Iron Sword visibly dropped in an instant. Zane’s body was sent flying, accompanied by a massive damage number.

-215

He was lucky not to die. While still airborne, Zane momentarily felt relieved—until a horrifying realization dawned on him.

Would falling from this height cause additional damage?

-11

Perhaps today was Zane’s lucky day. He ended up hanging from a tree, with the collision and friction only costing him 11 HP.

From afar, Endless Sea gave him a thumbs-up. “Bro, you’re incredible! You survived that!”

Whew. While Zane’s body narrowly avoided death, there was no room to relax—the real threat was still very much alive.

Taking advantage of the boar’s temporary lack of momentum, Starry slashed at its back before quickly retreating.

-73

This only fueled the boar’s rage. It prepared to charge again, using the same move. However, Starry had already calculated its attack range and swiftly moved out of harm’s way.

As the boar thundered past her position…

-145

A fresh burst of blood splattered from its head.

Suddenly, the boar stopped in its tracks. An oppressive energy radiated through its body, visibly surging to every part of it.

This had to be Berserk Mode—its body grew nearly twice its original size!

Warning: The Mutated Wild Boar has activated Berserk, evolving into a boss-tier monster for 3 minutes. Attack +50%, Defense +30%, Attack Range +100%, and all speed increased by 20%.

The boar’s attack power, originally 35-50, now spiked to a terrifying 53-75, while its defense climbed to 26. Neither Zane nor Endless Sea would be able to break through its defense anymore. The increase in attack range was self-explanatory, as the boar’s enlarged body now had an even larger reach.

As for the speed increase, it didn’t make much of a difference to Starry. Even with a 20% boost, the boar still couldn’t hit her. Years of training and honed instincts weren’t something that could be countered by just a slight increase in speed.

“Damn, how are we supposed to fight this? Miss Stardust, you should run! Losing a level means nothing to me, but you’re our main damage dealer—you have to keep your level intact!” Endless Sea exclaimed, looking as though he was ready to sacrifice himself nobly.

Unfortunately for him, the boar had zero interest in Endless Sea. Its attention remained locked on Starry as it launched another charge.

“Dodge!” Before Endless Sea could finish his sentence, Starry effortlessly sidestepped the attack, not forgetting to land another strike on the boar as it passed.

-86

With its body now doubled in size, landing hits on the boar’s head and triggering weak-point damage became much easier with proper timing.

The damage wasn’t as high as before. Boss-tier monsters seemed to have hidden bonuses, and the boar’s defense boost from its berserk state reduced the impact, allowing Starry to deal only 86 damage. However, with the boar’s HP already at just 79, it let out a pained cry before collapsing lifelessly to the ground.

Bathed in golden light, all three of them leveled up. Yet, both the NPC guard and Endless Sea were left staring dumbfounded at Starry, completely dazed. They were utterly speechless.

Starry, brushing back a few stray strands of hair, crouched down to inspect the loot.

Oh, wait… what about Zane?

“Can someone help me get him down?” Starry asked, somewhat embarrassed.

“Right away, Miss Stardust!” Endless Sea replied enthusiastically.

Once Zane had rejoined them, Starry turned her attention to the spoils. The loot consisted of an uncommon ring, a rare hammer, a common necklace, and 5 silver coins.

She decided to inspect the ring first. After wiping away the boar’s blood, the attributes appeared:

Ring of Vitality
Grade Uncommon
Required Level 8
Vitality +5
Description Wear it and enjoy endless energy, night after night!

“Five points of Vitality… not bad. Do any of you want it?” Starry asked. Though the question was addressed to everyone, it was really directed at Endless Sea.

He hesitated but eventually shook his head. “Let’s look at the other items first.”

“Alright.” Next, she pulled out the hammer.

Fractured Hammer
Grade Rare
Required Level 9
Attack 20-30
Strength +10
Special Trait Attack Speed -20%
Description The blacksmith’s prized creation, swallowed by the boar before its dramatic escape.

An uncommon-grade boar dropping a rare weapon? We are ridiculously lucky. The hammer’s attack power was overwhelming, even surpassing that of the Autumn Moon Sword. But that made sense—while the Autumn Moon Sword had no level restriction, the Fractured Hammer was a level 9 heavy weapon, so its high attack stat wasn’t surprising.

At that moment, Endless Sea’s eyes practically lit up like spotlights. “I want this one!” he shouted, jumping up in excitement. Realizing how eager he sounded, he awkwardly scratched his head and added, “Uh… but you guys should decide how to distribute it.”

“It’s fine. I already have a weapon, and he doesn’t like using heavy ones,” Starry said nonchalantly, tossing the hammer to Endless Sea.

He quickly stored it in his inventory. Since he couldn’t equip it yet, he made sure to keep it safe.

“I feel bad about taking it. Should I transfer you guys some cash or something? I barely contributed to this fight—I only hit the boss once,” Endless Sea said sheepishly.

“Don’t worry about it,” Zane said casually. “This quest has just started. There’s bound to be more good loot ahead. We can sort all that out later if it becomes an issue.”

“…Alright, thank you both,” Endless Sea said.

“No need to be so polite. We all worked together,” Zane replied, waving it off casually.

Starry continued inspecting the next item:

Worn Necklace of Dexterity
Grade Common
Required Level 8
Dexterity +1
Description Who knows who thought it was a good idea to feed this necklace to a wild boar?

The attribute boost was minimal, barely worth mentioning, but it was better than nothing.

“I’ll take the necklace since I’m fully focused on Dexterity,” Starry said.

“Of course, you should,” Endless Sea agreed quickly.

“In that case, I’ll take the Ring of Vitality. If I keep getting one-shotted, it’ll be embarrassing,” Zane added.

They divided the remaining coins evenly, and with that, the loot was distributed.

The boss’ generous experience reward pushed Starry straight to level 7, while Zane and Endless Sea both reached level 6.

Starry allocated all her points to Dexterity, though she couldn’t equip the necklace just yet due to the level requirement. Her attack power now reached an impressive 60-65, making her an absolute powerhouse against monsters of the same level.

Meanwhile, Zane continued adding his points to Vitality—dying on the spot again wasn’t something he wanted to repeat.
