It had become morning.

In 20 minutes, the carriage would be leaving. I didn’t make any special preparations, but I dressed up, just in case, and went to the village’s carriage station. Ruin and the others were already there.

“Yo, Alim, we’ll depart soonish, y’know!” Orgo called out to me.
“Yes,” I replied to him and got onto the carriage.

Jisef and Gerbera came to see us off.
I should thank them.

“Mr. Jisef, Miss Gerbera, thank you for taking care of me,” I tried to bow my head in a cute manner.

“Ho-ho-ho… When I saw you for the first time, Alim, I was truly shocked… To be honest, I was even more shocked by the Great Potions and the food yesterday. Take care, will you?”
“You can always come visit us. Even if your memory comes back. We’ll welcome you!”

They replied once they saw that.

They are nice, gentle people. Yes, I think it was truly for the best that the people of this village were the first humans I came into contact with.

“Really… thank you so much!” I thanked them again.
“It’s all good. When you’re in trouble, we’ll be here for you… alright?” Jisef replied.

Yes. I’ll absolutely come visit them. Once things have settled down.

“You all from Seinforce, too… We truly thank you,” Gerbera thanked Ruin and his friends.
“We’re in this together, you know.” Ruin replied as their leader. “If anything happens again, we’ll be happy to help!”
“Ho-ho-ho, of course.”

The village chief stroked his beard. He turned to me and spoke once more. His words were of encouragement.

“Oh, there is one final thing, Alim. There might come a time in the future, when you will experience more hardship and suffering than anyone else1. Still, you only have one life. So, enjoy it.”
“…I will!”

“We should be departing now,” the coachman told us.
“Everyone, please stay safe!” Ruin exclaimed.

Together with Ruin’s parting words, the coachman tugged on the reins and the carriage started to move. I could see numerous people stir. It was the villagers.

“Thank you!”
“Please come visit us again!”
“Kyah~! You’re so cute, Alim!”
“Thanks for the bamboo copters!”
“You can come back whenever!”

They each said their goodbyes.

The five of us turned to the villagers and waved our hands until we could no longer see them…

From here, it’d apparently take one and a half days until our destination, the royal capital of the “Mephilad Kingdom”. I was worried that there’d be an inspection or something in front of the gates when we entered the city2, but the merchant… he was called Arkin, would apparently handle it for us. As expected of a merchant.

Lilo and Myuri toyed with me, and Arkin told me about the royal capital and the kingdom, even giving me a map. He also handed me a business card for the merchant association he belonged to, telling me to absolutely go there, when I was buying or selling something.

They’ll apparently let me into the headquarters of the association, if I show it to them. I’ve been recognized as a full-fledged business partner, haven’t I? Well, so far, he’s been kind to me, so I’ll go there.

Afterwards, I spent a day asking Ruin and Orgo about adventurers, and being toyed with by Myuri and Lilo again.

We also talked about what we’d do from now on. First, we’d ask about me at the public office and they’d send me a mental message as soon as they learned anything.

This is apparently possible. They don’t need telephones in this world3.

Then, they told me, once more, that they’d like to accept me into their party, but that there was a reason that made it impossible. It wasn’t just Ruin, all four of them seemed to think so. Moreover, we’d apparently have to part immediately after asking at the public office4.

They are busy people, aren’t they?

“Understood, that’s alright,” I simply replied.

I thanked them for helping me and said goodbye to them, while I still could. The four of them did the same, giving their parting words and thanking me for my assistance. It looked like Lilo cried a bit. In addition to that, she hugged me tightly once more. So, I was hit by her assets again.
They are fairly large and quite soft.

Myuri also embraced me.
Hers aren’t as big as Lilo’s. They’re somewhere between B- and C-Cup, I guess?

Orgo patted me on my head. Ruin told me “Sorry… please stay safe” while prodding my cheeks.

Are my cheeks that good? Still, I’m rather slim as Alim. Why are they always poking them? Oh, it’s because my skin is smooth? I see.

While that happened, the Mephilad Kingdom’s royal capital came into view. Inside those large walls, my “future” was waiting…

Footnotes:

  1. This sounds rather sinister. It’s possible it’s not meant to sound this dark, and I made an error. Or Jisef has a hunch about what lies in Alim’s future…
  2. It says “country” in the original, but it’s more likely he means the city, since “gates” are mentioned. Depending on if it’s supposed to be “country” or “royal capital”, this would mean Arkin’s action would either be in the past or future. I always assumed that Pipi Village was part of the kingdom, but I don’t think that was ever confirmed, so I could be wrong here.
  3. This finally answers the question I asked myself when I translated chapter 123 more than half a year ago. So, I guess this is simply something everyone can do, regardless of level and skills.
  4. It’s called 役場 (“town hall”) here. For consistency, I used “public office” instead, since that was used every other time.
