“…Alright.”

Ruin took a look at his pocket watch and nodded to himself. He was currently in front of Lilo’s room, the place they had chosen to meet up. He then knocked three times.

“Lilo, are you ready?”
“Yes, I am. Come on in!”
“Excuse me.”

The first thing he saw after entering the room was her. She was wearing one of the outfits she usually picked when they went out. Cute was the first thought crossing his mind.

“We’re going on a date! I’m so excited, the heart in my chest keeps pounding.”
“Yes, you’re right.”

Ruin had been educated as a prince and spent his days removed from sexual desires, but, as if compelled by his very nature as a man, he still turned his gaze to those exaggeratedly big twin-mounds. Most would likely agree that she had left him no choice after bringing attention to them herself with her words.

Assuming she’d think him uncouth for gazing at her chest like this, he hurriedly averted his eyes. It was also that he had become more aware of them, since they had moved from childhood friends to being a couple.

“Now, shall we go?”
“…Let’s!”

He held out his hand.

Holding hands during the date… while this had been one of his goals, what he did right now happened unconsciously, being part of the conduct of a prince towards women, which had been ingrained in him.

Lilo was bewildered for a moment, but then carefully took his hand. Linking hands with him “as his girlfriend”; it filled her with both restlessness and elation as their hands entwined.

“Let’s walk around like this.”
“Alright.”

The two of them left the castle. On their way, they stayed unaware of the many gazes of the maids and gardeners, Elle and Herrell, and the minister who watched them in secret. Seeing those two rather inexperienced youths brought smiles to the onlookers.

“So, you never told me anything. Where are we going?”
“I was thinking of going to the Grand Mephilad Park to walk around and look at street-art and sculptures.”
“A walk through the park? That sounds nice!”

Regarding the whole date affair as a serious matter, Ruin decided to go with a stylish approach. The place named “Grand Mephilad Park” was said to be one of the largest parks in the city. It was the site for numerous works of art and other things, so he decided on it for their date. And while it somewhat overlapped with Orgo’s idea, he was also considering eating snacks at the stalls scattered around the park.

“We’re here.”
“So, what should we look at? How about the stone statues of past rulers?”
“Right… yeah, let’s check those out.”

Still holding hands, the two of them made their way to their destination. There, statues of past kings were lined up. From incompetent rulers to shrewd politicians, there were all kinds of kings.

The only rulers enshrined in this manner were those who had passed already, so there was no statue of the current king. Furthermore, the man was still in his forties, so it likely would be several decades until the next addition.

“Hm~… no matter how often I see them, none of the past rulers’ faces look like yours, Ruin. Although they do have a similar air to them…”
“Well, when my grandmother gave birth to my mother, she was said to look just like her. The three of us also seem to take more after our mother.”
“You’ve got a point there. I also only got my father’s eyes and everything else from my mother.”

She let go of his hand and touched his face while showing a smile. He let it happen, although seemingly embarrassed by it.

“Should we go look at more?”
“Alright… huh?”

Assuming he’d take it again, Lilo held out her hand. Only, he had done it unconsciously earlier and was now in a fluster.

“You want me to… take your hand?”
“What? Haven’t we been holding hands all the time?”
“Uh…”

Ruin racked his brains. Finally, he thought over the events between leaving the castle and arriving here. True enough, they had been holding hands all the time.

“S-Sorry. I did that completely unconsciously.”
“You unconsciously took my hand? I guess we did walk around hand in hand when we were little, so maybe it’s a holdover from back then.”
“R-Right, that’s probably it.”

He took her hand. The feeling of her skin was enough to cause him some elation.

“Your hands have gotten a lot bigger, Ruin, haven’t they?”
“The same goes for yours, Lilo.”
“Well, we grew up. Eh-heh-heh, in several places…”

He immediately understood the meaning behind her words and found his eyes being drawn to her chest. He instantly moved them away, looking at her face instead.

“What’s wrong?”
“Ah… nothing. It’s just, you…”
“What about me?”
“… You’re just so cute.”
“You… y-y-you think so? Thank you.”

She touched his hand for a moment, as if to caress it.

“So, should we go to the next spot?”
“Yeah, let’s.”

The casually strolled towards their destination – a plaza filled with famous artworks – which would serve as their next date-spot.
