“Good morning, Rir!”
“Morning… Mika.”

It was Monday. We were all planning to got to the circus this Saturday, but before that… something important should’ve happened yesterday. Between Rir and Shuu.

They had come to school together as usual, but the moment she saw me, she jumped my way¹.

“How did it go?”

That was the only thing I wanted to know. She fidgeted as if ashamed but still gave me a reply.

“Shuu… seduced me…”
“That’s great, isn’t it?”

The goal was for him to accept her advances, but to think he’d be the one to initiate… you couldn’t call this anything but a huge success.

Maybe he realized by himself that it couldn’t go on like this. Or maybe Ayumu gave him some helpful advice. Either way, it sounded like a good thing.

“Did you go all the way?”
“Woof!”

In reply to my whisper, she nodded energetically.

After checking her surroundings, she plopped down in my table’s seat and rested her arms and head on the desk. Then, she pouted slightly.

“I’m not sure about the details, but he’ll have to go to university, so marriage would be at 25 or older. So, even if you want kids, that would still be nine years off.”

She gave a smile. If she showed Shuu such radiant smiles often enough, there was no way he’d never put his hands on another girl. Plus, she was way too cute.

“Woof! Besides, once we’re going to university, we can travel during the summer holiday as the two of us, which should give us lots of opportunities to do… uhm… stuff like what we did yesterday. I guess that’s not too bad.”
“That’s true. I want to get married and have children quickly, but spending time together with your partner first is more important.”

Whether Ayumu went the designer path due to the wedding’s influence or chose a more difficult profession, thanks to all the studying we did, I was planning to keep supporting him from the sidelines.

That man always used work a lot. Shuu must’ve been lonely at times… well, thinking about it, he didn’t seem to be. On the contrary, he had great respect for his father. The man had been helping people for a long time, a genuine paragon of justice.

“It seems so. I’ve only been on dates with Shuu.”
“I see.”
“Don’t you go on outings with your Family, Mika?”
“Of course I do!”

I wasn’t sure when the last time was. Back then, Sakura’s eyes hadn’t been healed yet. Yeah, there had been hardships, but also fun.

“Still, we haven’t gone anywhere for some time.”
“I see… Oh right, speaking of outings, we’ll be out as the six of us this Saturday, won’t we?”
“Yeah!”

Maybe my family would do something on Sunday together. Mom and Dad probably thought along the same lines as Kanata, and wanted to show sights to Sakura, after she’d been almost blind for so long.

Being able to see the circus alone was huge. Sakura was loved by quite a few people, which obviously included me.

“Oh, Rir, homeroom is about to start.”
“Woof, you’re right! Talk to you later!”

She returned to her seat next to Shuu.

1. I guess the author forgot about the usual two weeks in Anazumu for every week on Earth.
