It was Saturday. With the intra scholastic tournament drawing near, our club activities had increased. Well, Sunday was still off.

In a rare occasion for her, Mom who usually acted as the housewife, would be gone from Sunday to Monday. That happened a few times per month. Well, she was a self-defense instructor for women.

Pops would be at work as usual, so once we came back from our date on Sunday, it would just be the two of us. When that time came… it was my turn to seduce Rir. On second thought, I had never been the one to directly initiate.

Usually, Rir either wore something suggestive, invited me to take a bath with her, or straight up asked if I wanted to have sex. And I’d usually decline. Since I didn’t feel like it.

Even on Earth, I had already declined her advances once. No matter how you looked at it, she must have been unsatisfied. But she never made a mention of it, even though I’d told her she could come with anything to me.

She’s probably still puttin’ up with it. And even knowin’ she’s the type to hold it in, idiot that I am never realized.

Calling me a wuss was probably obvious at this point. Though only Ayumu had done that.

…I hope I won’t be too nervous.
I had to bring it up in a cool, or rather, nonchalant way.

Ayumu also told me that my date idea sucked. He straight up asked me, “Why are you taking her to a game arcade? Aren’t you planning to seduce her on the same day? In that case, the amusement park or the zoo would be better!”

He was completely right. No matter how much fun Rir had at the arcade, it was a poor choice for a date. I had discussed it with Ayumu during our boys’ meeting. She might even leave me if I kept being such a useless boyfriend. No more planless dates.

She seemed to have fun no matter what we did… so if I picked something that was fun for normal girls, she’d probably be overjoyed. You could say that one of the goals was to appear like a proper boyfriend to others¹.

Also, on Saturday next week, we’d go to the circus as a group of six. I needed to inform our club instructor that we’d take that day off.

“Yaaaaaah!”

My body was lightly lifted up a tiny bit. It happened together with Rir’s adorable shout.
Right, looks like I’m ’bout to be thrown. Come to think of it, we’re in the middle of sparrin’ right now.

“Too bad for you.”

I immediately reacted by sweeping her legs, strongly but in way that wouldn’t hurt. That alone was enough to break her balance, regain my own stance, and then lightly throw her instead.

“I thought I finally scored a point against you, Shuu…”
“Nah, that was great. You actually managed to lift me.”
“…I-I guess.”

I really thought so. While her arms did have a healthy amount of meat now, they were still slender. And despite that, she was strong enough to throw a man like me.

“That was incredible, Fún.”
“Oh, thank you for saying that, Gorilla Sensei!”

Our instructor ended up praising her. He had likely watched the whole thing from beginning to the end.

“Shuu, on the other hand, are your thoughts somewhere else?”
“Gah… was it that obvious?”

Well, he often noticed such things.

After almost scoring a point, failing, and then learning that it only happened since I wasn’t paying attention, Rir seemed even more frustrated. It looked adorable, so I lightly patted her head, which made her perk up again with a smile.

I wanna hug her right now, but I gotta put that off ’til we’re in a place without so many jealous eyes.

“Will you really be fine for the tournament? Well, I’d like to ask that, but I’m not really worried about you, Shuu. As for you, Fún, I’m thinking of having you participate next year.”
“Are you serious, Teacher?” Gouda, the vice club head asked in apparent shock.

He was in the class next to ours, so he knew how much time I spent flirting with Rir and probably thought I didn’t do any training on my own.

“Do you want to give it a try, then?”
“N-No, I’m good.”
“Hrm, besides, I said that before, but there’s a world of difference in the sharpness of your moves, Shuu. To put it bluntly… it’s like you’re no longer human… as if you were planning to take on a tank.”

A tank, huh…?

I fought my fair share of stronger enemies than that. Maybe Gorilla Sensei could see the actual fighting experience I had accumulated. It was probably that.

“I guess… I never was a match for Hino from the start, and now he got even better. It’s as you say, Gorilla Sensei, we’ll probably be fine at the intra scholastic tournament.”

Yep, I’m not plannin’ to cut any corners there. I’m goin’ to give it my all. I’ll use all that fightin’ experience I brought from over there… though, lots of that was with magic against monsters.

“Rather than that, I’m super jealous of you.”
“Huh? You are?”
“Yes, I am. It’s like you got everything. Your judo skills have become even better and then you have a girlfriend who’s both cute and smart…”
“Th-Thanks…”
“And that isn’t all. I also keep hearing how you became one of the top students of our academic year, and improved abnormally in arts, music, and sports other than judo.”

It probably looked like that from an outside perspective. It sounded awesome, but I couldn’t exactly tell him the reason.

“W-Well… I’m not sure either how it happened.”
“Hmph… whatever. Let’s go back to training.

We started sparring again.
