“That’s good,” the foreign king suddenly said, his serious expression returning.
What does he mean by “good”? Does he think that, since my lover is a woman, there’s still hope for him?
“What do you mean by that…?”
“Well, it made Us recall some things. It seems We were so overjoyed to meet you and Mika in person, it completely slipped Our mind… First, Our heartfelt apology.”
Hang on, doesn’t this kind of self-reflection usually only happen when you get persuaded by either someone with ample life-experience or some self-styled protagonist?
Why did he realize that on his own? King Rama… is a scary guy.
“I understand it even less now, but…”
“Oh, well… In the ‘Association of Alimika Adorers1‘ there are occasionally people who oppose the relationship of you two, Alim, Mika. In such cases, there are usually discussions about how to pressure those people into changing their mind.”
That sounds scary, like, genuinely terrifying. The atmosphere King Rama gave off earlier was scary, but what these weird fans of us get up to is just as frightening.
They might try to kill Shuu if they see him come out of our mansion too often. Not good, I need to give him something to turn invisible.
“Well… if We stole the march on them, We could no longer fulfill Our duties as ruler! Ha-ha-ha-ha!”
So, these people are crazy enough to even oust a king, I mean, they totally would do that… They might be like fanatic idol fans back on Earth who cause large riots. Well, seeing they focus on us in contrast to the rest of Anazumu, their power is unfathomable. If Anazumu’s people were to oppose us, it might result in extreme destruction.
“Besides, Our opponent is not a man… Even assuming you are having a homosexual relationship, she isn’t a stranger… Mika is someone close to you, so there is no room for Us to complain. We fully support that… Still, do you truly love each other?”
So, in other words, from his perspective its better if the two of us are together compared to being with some stranger? That would be a way to work this out peacefully.
Somehow, this went in a weird direction.
As far as I knew, homosexual relationships weren’t common in this world. Was this the right interpretation or was it something weirder?
“We do. We are in love!” Mika announced, as she brought her lips close to mine.
…That’s bold of her. But we’ve been rather affectionate since the amusement park date and there aren’t that many people here, so it isn’t that embarrassing.
I let it happen and our lips met.
“Oh… oh, oh~~!” The foreign king seemed happy. “Hey, Hanuman! Once We get home, We shall erect a spire in commemoration of this moment! What a marvelous sight to see!” King Rama suddenly declared.
“As you wish, my king!”
“P-Please don’t.”
I wish the taciturn Hanuman hadn’t reacted this excitedly to it, either.
“We were half joking! Well… We feel wonderful, despite just receiving splendid rejection!”
Half joking, he says… Does that mean he’ll build half of a spire?
Not good… our fans are scary…
“K-King Rama… it is getting late…”
“Hrm, you are not wrong, King Mephilad.”
The other king came to our rescue after checking the time. King Rama didn’t object, likely since they had some matter to take care of.
Come to think of it, King Mephilad did mention during the message yesterday about wanting to continue the good relations with said country. He had likely summoned us to improve the visitor’s mood. I should lighten his spirits a bit more.
“Your Majesty Rama!”
I had asked Mika in a whisper to give me some space and then got really close to the foreign king. He smelled of high-class perfume.
“Wh-What is it?”
“…Uhm, I love Mika from the bottom of my heart, so I had to reject your proposal, but it made me very happy! Thank you so much for your kind words!”
When giving those words of thanks in a flirtatious voice while looking up at him, I grasped one of his hands with both of mine.
“Wa… wawa… wa… No, there is no need to thank Us… Our apologies for the trouble We caused you. We are also happy to hear you say that. Farewell, then.”
He said these words with a kind smile, before turning away and walking to King Mephilad’s side… While holding his nose, which was dripping with red blood2.

“Somehow, that got tough,” Tuhl commented after the two kings and their respective guards were gone and we left the dining hall.
“Ah-ha-ha… We need to act with a bit more moderation during our activities,” I laughed. “Or things like that will keep happening.”
“Well, if it’s you and your friends, Alim, you could probably just suppress such issues, so you’d be fine even if you continued like this,” the prince replied with a grin.
His face looked as handsome as always.
I guess royalty needs to have those kinds of looks3.
“…So, once you turn 16, you’ll get married? You can, thanks to that skill, right?”
Tuhl had seen my status screen. In other words, he knew of my Gender Conversion skill4.
I decided to answer honestly.
“Yes, that’s the plan! Right, Mika!”
“Yeah.”
She hugged me happily.
“Well, once that time comes, the whole country will have a large celebration. Oh, that’s right, you’re going to pay Karua visit, won’t you?”
“Yes.”
“She’s eagerly awaiting you in her room.”
Thus, Mika and I parted with Tuhl and then went to Karua’s room to play.
Footnotes:
- It’s back to the old version here, but I decided to use the name King Rama said before.
- The original is 赤い血が滴る花を抑えながら. Thanks to Kemm for pointing out that 花 (flower) is a homophone of 鼻 (nose). This was likely a typo.
- The house of Habsburg disagrees, especially the later rulers when the effects of inbreeding got really obvious.
- So, he knew from the start but probably assumed that Alim started out as a girl.
