At this point, Rir had only gone to school for one week.

During that time, I had club activities twice. It usually ended around half past six in the evening. And as predicted, Rir waited for me until I was done

When club was over… she was waiting outside the room, even though I had told her to go home ahead of me. She just said, “I wanted to go home with you, after all, so I waited. Come on, let’s go!” while nonchalantly holding out her hand… I mean, how should I put it… it made me happy. Yep.

And the next time I had club activities, she waited for me again. When I asked her what she did during that time, she replied that she was reading books in the library until club was about to end¹.

What I was trying to say, is that her joining another club might be a way to use that time.

“Look, you’ll keep waitin’ until my club is over, right? Why not join a club yourself to pass that time or somethin’. You can probably join any of ’em.”
“Woof, it’s true… Club activities are vital during one’s adolescence,” she replied while nodding.
“Then what ’bout the track and field club? You’re a wolf, so you’re probably best at runnin’.”
“That won’t work, that club meets on more days than the Judo club, doesn’t it?”
“What else would be good, then? Tennis? Basketball? Or maybe softball? The cultural club might work, too… and since you’re interested in Japan, you could also join the tea ceremony or calligraphy clubs.”

Even after I had recommended several clubs at our school, she was still shaking her head. The main reason for her refusal was apparently that their times didn’t align with my club… Maybe I should be happy about that.

“In that case… would you rather join the judo club? You could also take a managerial position.”
“Heh-heh, I was waiting for that. I thought about that, too, but… the judo club isn’t looking for a manager, right?”

Oh, now she’s in high spirits. Guess that was what she wanted, after all.

“That’ll be easy. I’m the head of the club, so if I talk it over with our teacher, it won’t be an issue.”

Though you could probably call that abusin’ my rank… She’ll probably be immediately hired as a manager. The scary part will be whether the other guys are goin’ to be jealous ’bout me having such a cute girlfriend. Heh-heh-heh.

“I see… What about joining as a regular member of the team?”
“Hm~, it’s not impossible for girls to join our club, but there currently aren’t any in the team. So, you’d have to train with those guys.”
“Is that a problem?”
“That might be selfish to say, but while I’d like to say that I trust them… I don’t want ’em to wrestle with my girlfriend…”

Even if I told them she was my (cute?) junior and pretty skilled, there were quite a few idiot lechers among them who’d probably try to grab her chest, if they could…

“Thank you for worrying about me, Shuu! Couldn’t we talk to the teacher so I’d only spar with you in that case?”
“Well~… that’s probably possible, but it might cause several issues durin’ trainin’.”
“Woof… that’s probably true. The inter-scholastic competition will be soon, so you don’t have the time to get distracted by me².”
“Nah, there’s still time.”
“I see.” She smiled in apparent delight.

So cute… I automatically went to pat her head. When I did that, she looked even happier.

“With that being said, I’ll either join a club that meets at the same time as the judo club, or the latter in a managerial position! I wonder, what does a manager do?”
“…No clue.”
“Woof!? S-Seriously?”

I honestly have no clue. It might be washing towels and handing out drinks. And doin’ paperwork.

…Do we even have paperwork that needs to be done? Besides, everyone buys their own drinks at vending machines… and we each take our towels home to wash them ourselves. Yep.

Is there seriously nothin’? But she could act as a mascot or a poster girl… nah, on second thought, the latter ain’t very effective if the girl has a boyfriend. Which would be me. Heh-heh-heh.

“W-Well, in any case, I’ll try to find something! I want to rejoice in my youth!”
“Gotcha.”

Clubs certainly were one way to enjoy one’s youth.
If she joins the judo club as a manager, will she also come with us to summer camp? That does it… she gotta become manager.

Oh, right. At the topic of enjoying one’s youth, there’s one more option.

“Rir, you talkin’ bout rejoicin’ in your youth reminded me, when should we have out date on Earth?”
“Date… the date!” Her eyes started to shine.

Is she that happy ’bout goin’ on a date.
I never went on a date with a girl on Earth, either, so I was secretly hyped up, too. We did have several dates in Anazumu, but Earth felt different.

“Right, that’s right… A Sunday would be the usual choice! As for where, I’m fine with anything as long as I’m with you, Shuu! Even just taking a walk close to your home would be fun!” she exclaimed, as her tail whooshed back and forth, and her ears were standing up straight.

Adorable… Hm, I feel like today I’m reactin’ to her like Ayumu does to Mika… Nah, probably not.

“Well, I’ll think of somethin’.”
“Awoo! I’m so happy!”

She hugged me again.

1. I don’t see the issue, that sounds like a productive way to spend her time.
2. If anything, having two people on the team who inherited martial arts skills from a fantasy world probably would make it much easier for them to win the competition.
