In Anazumu.
“…Hey, Mika.”
“Mh? What is it?”
She was holding me in an embrace as usual. From that position she looked at me with upturned eyes, which was irresistibly adorable.
No, there are more important matters now.
“Don’t we have way too much free time lately?” I asked.
“Hm, I guess. Free time to spend together?”
“That’s not how I meant it.”
While Mika acted like that, things honestly had gotten boring.
The first week of Rir attending our school had ended. It was easier to spend our time leisurely in Anazumu, so Kanata had proposed spending two weeks here for every week we went to school.
It wasn’t as if we tried to keep the dates of both sides synchronized, so everyone was fine with it. Currently, we were in the trial period, spending the first two such weeks in Anazumu. Today was the fourth day of that. And I was so bored, I didn’t know what to do with myself.
There was nothing to do. Sure, we had our work as idols and there were times when Rose came to visit. But on days when that wasn’t the case… well.
Take the second day for example. As an experiment, I recreated the schoolbooks and course materials we used at our school with Dark Matter, and Mika, Shuu, Rir, and I studied with those.
It might have been our dexterity, or it was related to magic power, or maybe it was caused by our quickness stat. We managed to work through three years’ worth of high school materials in a single day1 (of course, that was using a magic room that sped up time).
From what my younger brother said, due to us keeping any memories of what we did in Anazumu, anything we learned there, we could use on Earth. He and Sakura shut themselves away in a magic room for two days from the day before yesterday until yesterday and ended up going through all the middle and high school materials I provided them with.
When I recreated a past high school exam question collection from the test center this morning and Kanata (a middle schooler) tried to solve it, his results put mine (a genuine high schooler) to shame. To make matters short, he achieved a perfect score in every single subject. While Sakura didn’t try to solve the test, she was probably on a similar level. At least Mika, her older sister, said so, so it was likely true.
What should we do next?
I thought about studying with the aim for a qualification, but in the end, just studying would be boring. Then I thought of drawing pictures or making music, but… that was all covered by skills.
As for what the other two couples did… Shuu did strength training and exercise… and Rir apparently joined him in that. Kanata and Sakura were still studying. I wanted to ask them what the hell they still had to study, but that’s what they did.
Even though those four had found something to do, Mika and I did nothing but hug and kiss in our room. Playing my beloved video games was an option, but if I did that, Mika would be left on the wayside.
“Hm~, but doesn’t that mean that we have all the time in the world to make out?” she asked. “Doing that isn’t so bad, right?”
“True, you’re not wrong there.”
I can count on Mika guessing what I’m thinking in two tries or less. Heh-heh-heh.
“So, should we spend more time that way? For example, we could… you know? I’m sure I don’t need to spell it out,” Mika mumbled bashfully.
That certainly wouldn’t be a bad choice…
“We finished studying the day before yesterday, so we can take our time.”
“You’re right. But I’d be fine with it, no matter when or how often we did it, you know? If that’s what you want, we could keep doing that all day long,” she declared seriously.
But as for me…
“I’m afraid we’ll get stuck in a rut.”
“S-Stuck in a rut…!? Us…?”
Mika seemed shocked, her eyes starting to tear up. This also looked rather cute.
“Well, I think it’ll get tough. That’s what scares me. That doing these things with you would no longer feel special, Mika.”
“I-I see. Then what do we do…? Or rather, should we go straight to having kids-”
“We can’t,” I cut her off.
“True.”
Hm~, isn’t there some productive way to use all that time?
We could play board games like Kanata and Sakura do. But while that would stave off the boredom for maybe two or three days, we would get sick of it at some point.
What to do…
“Are you still thinking about it? F-For me, Ayumu, I’m happy simply if can be with you. Hugging and kissing satisfies me more than enough,” she explained.
…I get it. I shouldn’t ponder this needlessly. I love her from the bottom of my heart, so that alone is enough… Hm~, for some reason, that completely slipped my mind. That’s not good, not good at all. There’s no way doing anything together with her will ever get boring.
“Ha-ha… you’re right. Sorry, I see now that there’s no reason to wrack my brain.”
“Heh-heh-heh, I’m happy that you understand! I love you!”
She hugged me even more strongly.
“I love you too.”
“Eh-heh-heh~.”
I guess we’ll spend today and tomorrow like this.
The moment I came to that conclusion, a message popped up in my head.
TL notes:
Sounds like Alim and Mika need some proper hobbies, preferably something they can do together or at least something for Mika, so she won’t be twiddling her thumbs when Alim plays video games. Not that I have much hope of the author coming up with anything other than them flirting 24/7, but who knows?
This marks the end of volume 17 and is also the point where I stopped reading ahead (at least at the time of writing this) so except for the chapter titles, I don’t really know what the next volume holds.
