“Then… how might I best go about this?” Myuri wondered.
The following needed to be considered:
During the prior exploration, sufficient skill points should have accumulated, and healing magic was currently not essential. In exchange, support magic proved rather important.
“For the time being… at what point is your Enhancement Magic?”
“Indeed. I have Improved Enhancement Magic level 3. Just today, my level rose enough to obtain sufficient skill points to evolve it to the True stage, although…”
“Please do that, then.”
Ruin gave Myuri the D-Rank magic cores. She immediately used them to turn her skill into True Enhancement Magic1.
“I obtained enough points earlier to bring it to level 2 right away.”
“Do that too, if you don’t mind,” I told her.
“Understood… done. Incidentally, what would be the best way to spend my STP?”
“Use half each on your MP and spellpower. And please keep any points you obtain from now on in reserve.”
“I will!”
She immediately and obediently performed everything I told her. Whether you had support magic or not could make a huge difference, especially for this party2.
After giving us a short “I shall see you later”, Myuri also went to take a nap.
“Then… what should we do?” Ruin inquired.
What best to do with the two princes and the son of the knight commander…
…For the time being.
“At the current point, please raise your sword skills! We’ll get more magic cores during our rounds, so let’s use them to get those skills to Great Swordsmanship!”
You needed three C-Rank magic cores to acquire that skill. Thought it would be some time until we had enough.
“STP wise, attack and quickness stick out, so please allocate points to those stats equally. Mr. Orgo should also put some into defense.”
“Alright.”
The three men closed their eyes and started allocating stat and skill points.
“What about me?” Karua tapped my shoulder.
“Right, what level are you now?”
“Currently… I am at level 18.”
Oh… that’s quite high…
Though that’s about what’s to be expected from the enemies that were defeated.
“I’m sorry, but could you hold on to your points until you get to around level 40?”
“Understood, I shall do so,” she replied, just as obediently as Myuri.
We sat down on the sofa and started to relax. As we did that, Mika also tapped my shoulder.
“What’s wrong?”
“I have an Ayumium deficit.”
“…Eh?”
What… what is she saying?
“…Today, you haven’t spent any time with me. It’s not just you, Ayumu, pretty much no one is paying me any attention. Indulge me.”
“Indulge me’, you say…? Geez, guess I have no choice.” I took my adorable girlfriend’s hand. “I’m sorry, Karua, we will also retire for a bit.”
“Just the two of you…? Oh my”
Gah… Karua is grinning at us. She, who has witnessed us kissing, is giving us that knowing grin of hers!
“S-See you later, then…!”
Mika and I hurriedly fled the living room, stole away past the corridor into a newly made secret room, where… things happened.

“This will be the third round, then.”
One hour later, we dove in again. At our current pace, we’d likely only manage three more rounds today until evening.
“What is our plan this time?” Myuri asked.
“This round, we’ll go up to the place where we defeated the Iron Golem last time. Though if it goes well, I’d like to advance further…”
If they managed to make progress without pushing themselves too much, we should be able to move on. But it needed to happen as safely and consistently as possible…
“Say, Alim. Could I update my STP and SKP allocations?” Lilo wondered. “I was planning to put all my STP into MP and my SKP into True Fire Magic.”
Right, she did gain three levels earlier. If she put all her STP from three level-ups above level 30 into MP, that’d raise it by 1203. Combined with the normal gains from those levels, it would total up to an increase of 1804. That should give her another three to four casts.
Additionally, she should have gained 60 SKP5. She could probably improve her True Fire Magic by two levels with this.
“I see, in that case… we can probably reach the next group. I predict it will either be made up of several C-Ranks enemies, or one B-Rank!”
Alright, with this, there is hope. They’ll probably gain several levels at once.
“Good, let’s move!”
We started our third round of dungeon exploration. Ruin, Orgo, and Tuhl worked hard to defeat the D-Rank magic beasts on the way with just their swords and Myuri’s support magic. Her buffs were hugely effective.
Next came the group with a C-Rank foe. This time, it consisted of a Toon Dragon6… the evolved version of a Child Dragon, plus its D-Rank cronies, which by Lilo’s magic (buffed by Myuri) crushed handily.
We can move on to the next group…!
The uncharted territory, which the eight of us happily walked, split into two paths ahead. One of those would lead to treasure.
Footnotes:
- It’s Improved Enhancement Magic in the original. An error, I assume.
- Says the one who (until the Surtr fight) never used a single buff since coming to Anazumu.
- The original is 90. The author apparently forgot that those stat increases go 10 -> 20 -> 30 and so on, and is calculating with increases of 15 per level.
- The original is 120 but should be 180 (20*3*2 + 20*3)
- The original is 45 but should be 60 (20*3).
- The original is トゥーンドラゴン (tuundoragon). This could theoretically also mean “tundra dragon”, but that sounds more like an S-Rank enemy than some measly C-Rank.
