Three days after we came back to Anazumu from Earth, a letter plus a map with notes from the king arrived at our place. The letter held information about the planned date for the training with Karua and the others, and the handover of the dungeons. It looked like the map showed the location of said dungeons.
“What do we do? Should we check them out right away?” I suggested, while showing it to everyone.
“Right… Rir needs ’em, so let’s go there quickly.”
It looked like the others shared Shuu’s opinion. Thus, we immediately went to visit the dungeons.

Thanks to Kanata’s convenient teleportation, travel took barely any time and we managed to check all locations in just about an hour.
Let’s see… there are two “Joy” dungeons, and one each of the types “Delight1“, “Wrath”, and “Grief”.
This was the first time I saw dungeons of the “Delight” and “Grief” type. Shuu had told us what kind of dungeon “Grief” was, but “Delight” was a first for everyone in our group.
With that being said, we stood in front of said dungeon and were about to explore it. This dungeon’s characteristic feature seemed to be giant tree roots.
“Who’ll go in? All six of us?”
“No, just one should be enough. Me, obviously.”
Shuu mumbled a “figures” in response.
In the end, I was the one for stuff like this.
“I’ll be off, then!” I announced before jumping down into the dungeon, where I could see a wooden floor.
The message I had seen oh so many times was displayed in my mind.
My feet hit the floor. There was the creaking sound of wooden planks.
…I mean, we’re close to a harbor town, so why in the world does it look like this? I don’t really get it. Oh well, not like it matters.
From my position, there was only one path leading onward.
…Maybe it’s the same as the “Joy” dungeons with magic beasts posted on a single path? No… if it was, then I should already see the first foe from here.
For now, I advanced. After walking at the speed of a normal person for 40 seconds, I discovered two things. And they weren’t magic beasts.
First, I finally saw something resembling a room, and second, there was one of those places. Indeed, a hidden room.
In the place that I had reached by walking for 40 seconds at the normal speed of a girl in seventh grade, there was a wall with a different color, made of a different kind of lumber than the others.
Suspicious, awfully suspicious. Guess I have no choice but to break the wall. Let’s smash it.
I kicked it. The wall with a darker color compared to the others was turned into splinters.
Oops, I was still wearing those 20-times multiplier bracelets… Well, I’m sure it’s fine.
Beyond the wall, a path came into view, so I followed it without hesitation. After what felt like a rather short time, I reached a room-slash-dead-end. However, said room was awfully wide. Moreover, it was rectangularly shaped and there was something like a table with a knife stabbed into it…
Another message appeared in my mind.
[You have entered the secret stage of Palchini Forest’s dungeon “Delight”. Here, a mission will be given to you. When you complete the mission, a treasure chest will appear. The contents of the treasure chest you receive will change depending on the achievement level.]
So far, the explanation was the same as the one in the other dungeon.
Now, I wonder what kind of mission this is. You probably have to use that knife somehow.
[Throw the knife in front of you. The further you throw it, the further the target you hit and the closer to the center it strikes, and, finally, the faster you throw it, the better the contents of the treasure chest will be. Well then, mission start!]
What, it’s knife throwing?
The conditions were weirdly long, but… in essence, it measures accuracy, power, and speed, right? It’s probably a test of dexterity.
For now, I pulled out the knife from where it was stabbed into the table, and threw it at what was likely the target with all my power. To others, it probably would’ve looked as if it flew at ultra-high speed.
A moment later, there was the sound of the knife stabbing itself into the wall. Several seconds after that, the table, where the knife had been, sank into the floor and one of the treasure chests I had seen so often appeared3.
That was easy enough. With the forest turtle, all you had to do was defeat it, but that was difficult in itself. I wish they’d spend more time balancing this stuff!
Leaving those musings aside, I opened the chest. Inside was an Amrita.
What, an Amrita?
I had tons of them, so I gulped it down on the spot.
TL notes:
This chapter marks the end of volume 15. It goes to show just how much having three regular PoV teams pads out the story, considering how little happened in those 15 chapters.
Footnotes:
- The original is 喜び,which seems very close to 楽しみ (“joy”). From how I understand it, the latter has the added meaning of anticipation, while the former hasn’t.
- The harbor town from chapter 57.
- I guess the author forgot the result message here.
