“…Rir.”
“Woof~.”

I was currently in a situation where I couldn’t move. Or rather… Rir had me in her embrace.

Her tail was moving restlessly, as she nuzzled her head against my chest. It was the complete opposite of how it had been yesterday.

“Shuu… I’m so happy.”
“Yup, me too.”

She apparently wanted to do this ever since she learned that we could go back and forth between this world and Earth. She had clung a lot to my arm today, but it was probably better to indulge her.

I placed my hand between her ears and stroked her blueish-white hair.

“Still, Shuu… uhm, if you…”
“What’s wrong?”

She looked at me with an awfully anxious expression, her eyes slightly wet.

“You accepted my confession on the condition that we would only be dating until you went back home… didn’t you? Considering that… you shouldn’t concern yourself with me and do what you want.”

I was sure that lots of things happened to her in the past. Just, she had the bad habit of thinking of these things as negatives.

I hugged her strongly.

“It ain’t like that. I wanna be with you, Rir, so I’ve even been thinkin’ of goin’ so far as stayin’ here.”
“Woof~… woof… But I can’t compare to your childhood friends… Alim and Mika, so-”

I almost burst out laughing at the mental image of Ayumu as a love interest, but I managed to hold it in and patted Rir’s head as she was trying to continue.

“These two are friends. I don’t see ’em like that, y’know. Rir, you love me, don’t you?”
“Woof.”

She raised her head a tiny bit and looked up at me. She might have been a wolf, but right now, she looked as cute as a small animal.

“I love you. I will do so for the rest of my life. I love you the most in this world…! I’d do anything for you. If it was for you, I’d even…!”
“Woah, stop it, don’t go deifyin’ me or somethin’, alright? But… I also care ’bout you… l-love you.”

I-I ended up fumblin’ my words… S-Still, I managed to say what I wanted to.

“Awoo~… Shuu! Shuu!!”

She embraced me even more strongly as she wept. After some time, she calmed down. Still, it didn’t seem like she was about to stop hugging me.

“Woof. Where will we go from here? Oh, if you stay here, we could take our time before we have children. But… Shuu… if you still love me a few years from now… could… could we m-marry… if possible?”

Fidgeting, Rir acted adorably bashful as she spoke the word “marry”. I decided on my reply while rubbing her back.

“That’s fine.”
“A-Awoo~! In that case… right! I will do my best to raise my Reincarnation counter, so please let me come with you to that world! I-I want to meet your parents, Shuu!”

My parents… Pops, a big shot at the police, and Mom, a firefighter who quit her job after marrying and having a child (me). Hm~, how would they react if I introduced Rir to ’em? I’m sure those two would welcome her with open arms.

Both Pops and Mom worked in jobs that required high physical strength, so… you’d likely expect them to be strict parents like you see in stories. They weren’t like that at all.

“I see. I’m sure they’ll be thrilled to meet you.”
“Woof, woof!” Rir happily nuzzled her body against mine.

When I checked the clock, I realized that it had become rather late.
…We should sleep.

As Rir had suggested yesterday, we could sleep in each other’s embrace.

“Rir, let’s sleep already. We’ll go on a date tomorrow. Neither of us knows this city, so… I’m sure there’ll be lots of interestin’ things.”
“Woof. That’s true! But could you wait for a moment?”

She ended her embrace and took just a bit of distance. The next moment, she put her hands on the buttons of her pajamas and started undoing them.

“What are you doin’?”
“W-Woof.”

She finished undoing all the buttons on the top of her pajamas in a flash and vigorously took it off. Right after, she also threw away the shirt she wore below. As a result, she gazed at me, wearing nothing except the bra on her chest¹.

She got rid of that too, bringing her breasts into plain view, but I was so perplexed by her suddenly undressing, I couldn’t look at her. Although I did manage to sneak a peek… they were as big as before. That was probably something I shouldn’t say out loud.

If I had given in, this wouldn’t have ended well. I feel like I know instinctually what she would’ve said after that “so…”³.

“Woof, that’s fine! Besides, if you’re looking forward so much to our date, then it can’t be helped. Let’s continue this tomorrow, then.”
“R-Right.”

After she put the clothes back on, she hugged me again. We lay down, still in an embrace, and closed our eyes.

1. Hang on, isn’t that supposed to be sleepwear? Just how many layers is she wearing?
2. Not sure about that, the original is もしそうなら、この身体もショーは好きに良いんだからね. From context, I interpreted the 好き here in the “can do as you like” meaning, but the grammar doesn’t seem to line up. Maybe she means that her body is likeably good (good enough for him to like it)?
3. Alim pretty much gave them the go-ahead have sex in the guest rooms, plus Shuu promised to do it again with her on the day of Surtr’s revival, so if anything, she is rather patient here.
