“I’m back,” I shouted, as I returned to our apartment – needlessly expansive for just two people to inhabit – in the Anazumu version of a high-class condominium.

Since we both had things, we wanted to buy, we temporarily split up at around 5 pm. I went to purchase lots of vegetables and stuff, but… it looked like Rir wasn’t back yet.
What do I do now…?

When I thought about using the time to make some more SS-Rank skills like Kanata, I heard the door open with a clack.

“…I’m back, Master.”
“Hey, Rir. Welcome home.”

Huh, we ended up coming home at almost the same time.

“…Master, could I make dinner today?”
“Hm? Sure thing, I’ll leave it to you. I bought some ingredients earlier, so you can use any of those you want.”

Immediately after coming home, Rir took off her red hood and went to the kitchen.

Rir replied rather curtly. She laid down some distance from me without even trying to cover herself with the futon, keeping her back turned to me.

And then… her ears are flopped down and her tail’s swayin’ slowly from side to side… Just what is goin’ on?

“Rir… is somethin’ wrong?”

She didn’t react much to my question. Only her ears perked up a bit.

“Are you asleep?”

At that, she turned her head slightly and looked at me from the side. She immediately looked away again, but from that single glance, I’d seen that her cheeks were bright red.
…She’s awake, but… somethin’ happened, right?

“Are you alright? What’s goin’ on…?” I asked and got closer to her.

Rir face took on a dejected expression. She probably knew what I was trying to tell her.

…Just what would be the best thing to do here? Should I just throw caution in the wind? Ain’t like I’m as fixated on stuff like chastity as Ayumu.

But right now, I’m just feelin’ stubborn… Not sure how to put it… guess the reason I’m so on guard is ’cause I’m worried ’bout what’ll happen to Rir once I’m gone.

“Rir, to cut it short… I won’t put my hands on you for your own sake.”
“Woof?”
“What’ll you do once I’m gone? You’ll probably start datin’ someone other than me and then marry him… and for that you gotta hold on to your virginity⁵…”

“Huh? I’m not planning to do that,” she replied instantly.
“Why’s that?”
“Even if you ask me that… After you return home, Master… I don’t think I’ll start a relationship with anyone else, you know? I will simply live out the rest of my days as a high-rank adventurer.”

“Wha-? What about kids… don’t you want to have any?”
“I’m not sure, but… if it was with you, Master, I’d be willing to have kids right now. It’s not an absolute rule, but wolfkin women tend to ‘mate with the best male possible and produce children’. And make no mistake, there won’t be anyone like that after you’re gone, Master. Woof!”

She smiled as she said that, but I could sense her firm determination.

I mean… a girl telling me that she wants to have kids with me… I thought that stuff only happened in mangas and light novels, don’t it?

I gulped.
Maybe I’m just nervous… or maybe…

“R-Rir, I get how you feel. I do.”

Rir looked so happy, as her tears were flowing, and she started pushing her body against mine.

“Woof! Oh, I have something for birth-control, just in case… Though I’d really like to have kids with you before you return home, Shuu, so we don’t need it. I got it in case you wanted to use it…”

Hang on… I still have questions; I need some time to think. This is risky… wait, what was risky again…? What was I thinking… uhm…

“Master… No, Shuu… I love you!!”

With those words, Rir drew me into an embrace.

And that’s Shuu popping his cherry. I don’t think they’ve even kissed on screen and now it’s straight into sex? They sure aren’t cutting any corners.

On a more serious note, beastfolk seem to be more physically focused and (at least the predator types) likely want to leave behind strong children, so it’s not that surprising to see Rir acting like this. Her not knowing how long she has until Shuu has to go home likely sped up her actions, too.

4. In the original, she uses 夜伽, which can mean either “attending someone through the night (guarding/nursing)” or “sleeping with a man”. I’m mainly mentioning this to emphasize that, unlike the expressions like 一緒に寝る or 添い寝 we often see, this one has a clear meaning of “have sex”.
5. Looking at medieval societies, he does have a point. Only, Anazumu is weird in a lot of ways and this also assumes that a woman can’t really provide for herself without a man, which definitely isn’t the case for Rir with her current stats.
