It was the day after the kids had allocated points on their status screens for the first time.

“Did you sleep well, Kanata, Sakura?”
“Yes!”
“*Yawn*… Mhyes.”

They replied to Loukis question; Sakura in a lively manner and Kanata while rubbing his sleepy eyes.

“Is that so…? You seem tired, Kanata… Well, whatever. From today on, you want to go to castle town and train on your own, correct?”
“Yes, that’s right.”
“We prepared some things in advance for that, yesterday. You can take them with you.”

While he said that, Loukis snapped his fingers. At the same moment, servants carrying a large amount of luggage entered the throne room.

“Thank you very much.”
“What, you’ll be doing subjugation requests for our country. Wouldn’t it only be natural for us to give you the utmost support?”

The things Loukis had prepared consisted mostly of the weapons and armor the kids had gotten used to, magic bags, dismantling knives, foodstuff for several days, money… and numerous other things.

“Should anything happen, feel free to return to the castle.
“We will.”
“Then, you can leave. I shall be expecting good results.”

“Well, here we are at the inn Mr. Loukis prepared for us, but… There’s only one bed again.”
“Right. I feel like… at this point we should worry much about that… much.”
“No, if I can’t sleep, we’ll have a problem… Maybe there’s another bed, or I can sleep in another room…”
“Don’t be so selfish, Kanata.”
“…Huh? Ah, right. I guess…?”

For the time being, the two kids used the fairly extravagant apartment to sort through the things Loukis had given them. There was more than they had expected, so it took some time, and when they finished organizing everything, the sun had reached the highest point.

“It’s noon.”
“Mr. Loukis gave us several days’ worth of cooking ingredients, so… should I cook something, Kanata?”
“Can you do that without being able to see?”
“Gah… What should we do?”
“It’s no problem. I’ll make the food. Japanese cooking should be fine, right?”
“Yeah.”

Kanata got up and disappeared into the kitchen. Sakura started mumbling to herself.

“(…I can’t cook for Kanata, but that back and forth we had… it kinda felt like a married couple’s. A married couple…? Eh-heh-heh. That’s fine… I’ll be Kanata’s wife. That’s what I want… but I’m no use at all…)”

She muttered things like that for a while, and before she knew it, Kanata returned to her, carrying the meal. The Japanese food sitting on the plates… was mainly fried fish and lightly pickled vegetables. There was no rice.

“Sakura, what were you mumbling?”
“Eh…!? Ah, I was monologuing, just talking to myself!”
“…Huh. Well, that’s fine. Let’s eat.”
“Yeah. Thanks for the meal.”

The two kids ate lunch while talking about their plans for later.

“Alright, Sakura. You should experience the effects on my skill,” Kanata told her, after they had finished eating and tidying up the dishes. “It’s absolutely incredible, you know! I practiced with it for a bit.”
“You practiced…? Huh, when did you have the time to practice on your own?”
“W-Well, I did so for a bit last night.”
“Hmph… So, how did it turn out?”
“Right, for the time being, try using Detection on me, Sakura.”
“Alright.”

Sakura started looking for Kanata, who had moved to the front door, via Detection.

“Now, I’m at the door, but…”

As soon as he said that, Kanata disappeared from Sakura’s Detection for an instant, before reappearing behind her. Then, he tapped Sakura, who still hadn’t processed what happened, gently on her shoulder.

“Wha-!? H-Huh… Kanata… How did you…? Weren’t you at the door? When did you move behind me… was that high-speed movement?”
“No, I teleported.”
“You… teleported?”
“Yup, that’s it.”

She suddenly heard Kanata’s voice from some distance. When she noticed, she was sitting on top of the bed. Kanata had teleported her onto it.

“Eh!? Huh…?
“Right now, I moved you on top of the bed, you see.”
“In… incredible! You can do the same for other things?”
“Yes. Please hold out your hand.”

Sakura opened her hand, just as he had asked her to. Immediately afterwards, she could feel something metallic on the palm of her hand. However, from what Detection told her, Kanata hadn’t moved a single step from where he was standing.

“Huh…? Uhm, that’s a spoon, right?”
“It is. I moved it directly from the cupboard into your hand.”
“Really… t-that’s amazing. Truly… So, you can use it from a distance?”
“Yep. The further the distance, the more MP it uses, but it’s possible. The castle is about one kilometer from here, so that’d take… around 10 MP. It looks like stuff within 100 meters only takes 1 MP.”
“Wow… that’s really incredibly, very fantasy-like!”
“Well, this place is pretty much a fantasy world. By the way, I allocated all the SKP, I left in reserve yesterday, to MP.”

Afterwards, they played around with teleportation for some time and also tried out Sakura’s skill. They spent about one hour doing that.

TL notes:
So, it’s finally time to find out just how OP Kanata’s teleportation is, and it seems even stronger than expected. The mana cost sounds rather miniscule, and the fact he can teleport anything he wants, even if he isn’t touching it, honestly seems stronger than the ability to teleport himself. Unless enemies can resist this, he could simply use fall damage to kill everything without flying capabilities.
