“God, call me1!”

“Hey, hey. What is it?”
“Can you tell me how’s the state of the world? And was someone summoned?”
“Someone was summoned in the kingdom of Caeruleus. As for its state, I don’t know how much longer it will last.”
“Even you don’t know?”
“It’s like having only one on your phone battery and wondering how many minutes you’ve got left.”
“Only one?”
“Only one percent battery. When it’s like that, you usually don’t know how much more you can use your phone.”

(Oh, I got it.)

“Okay, I get what you are trying to say. So it doesn’t look like it’ll last another 5 years then. If things go south, it might collapse in a year kind of thing.”
“I honestly can’t say for sure, it’s disintegrating faster than expected. All I can say is that I believe it will last at least another six months. When the world reaches its limit, Fi, you’ll be brought over here, so you won’t get caught up in it and die.”
“Understood.”
“Also, the world is harder to see from God’s side because the collapse has started, so only you know what happened around you, Fi.”
“So you mean to say you don’t know what’s happening in Caeruleus right now?”
“Right on the mark.”

It’s not like God had guided me anywhere, so I didn’t see this as an issue. However, I believed it would be right to change the order in which I collected the spirits.

As for the Heroes of Caeruleus, I decided to wait and see what would happen and put it off for later. If they chose to interfere, I’d simply remove them. If they didn’t, I’d let them do as they pleased. I felt sorry for them. They were forcibly summoned here, when the world’s collapse was just around the corner, and it couldn’t be saved.

As for the Spirit of Darkness, with Lullus’ help, I could quickly find its location, so that too could wait. If it still had the energy, then it could at least do some good and work.

“At any rate, I can grant you three wishes. What do you say? Also, if you want to save someone, then I’d like you to tell me before the world collapses.”
“Oh, yeah. Before the collapse occurs, could you take the people from the Neutral Team and place them in the state they were in before the summoning and let them choose from there?”
“Do you mean to let them decide between going back to Earth, going to another world, going to the new world that’s about to be created, or just simply continuing with their lives?”
“That’s right. That should count as one wish, right?”
“Yeah, that’s fine.”

God seemed to be incredibly generous. He truly was a God. If it were me, I would’ve taken that as two wishes. One for the saving, and one for the choice. Still, the collapse of the world, huh…

“Come to think of it, I’m this world’s Demigod, right? What’ll happen to me once this world is gone? Won’t my Demigod status disappear alongside it?”
“Oh, do you want to see the moment the world collapses? What a curious wish. All the elements of this world will indeed vanish as soon as it collapses, so it’s pretty much as you said.”
“Then can we do something about it?”
“Well, you can go from a Demigod to a proper God. Though the kind of God you become is random, and based on your nature.”
“I see. In that case, let’s go with that2.”
“And for your last wish?”
“I’ll hold off on it for now.”

I honestly couldn’t think of anything. There wasn’t even a wish I truly wanted to have granted in the first place.

“Thank you very much.”
“I’m sorry it’s come to this, but just do your best, okay? Well then, see you.”

When the communication with God was interrupted, I noticed Lullus gazing at me.

“Caeruleus did a hero summoning.”
“They are unbelievable…”

Lullus wavered between shock and anger. As a former manager of this world, and as someone who’d been building up grudges for the last couple thousands of years, I was sure she had endless things to say.

“So, what do you want to do from now on?” Lullus asked.
“Before that, I have one question. Is it correct to say that the Spirit of Darkness resides in the Nigel Kingdom?”
“Location-wise, there is no doubt.”
“In that case, we’re headed to Aquilus. The Nigel Kingdom seems to still be kicking, after all. There’s no need to rush it. But still. I may have done a bad favor to the Nigel Kingdom.”
“But the ones who started it are the people of Fraus.”
“I guess you’re right. The war would’ve started with or without me.”

Whatever their intentions, Nigel also didn’t release the spirit, so there was nothing that could be done. And even if they did release it, I doubt that God would help them. But still, they’d surely have a better pitch than the other kingdoms.

As I was thinking this, lightning suddenly struck, even though the sky was clear. Moments later, torrential rain began to pour down. In the distance, I could even see tornadoes forming.

It lasted only a few minutes, and then, just as suddenly, the weather returned to normal.

“It does feel like the end.”
“I am so embarrassed,” Lullus said.
“It’s not like it’s your fault, Lullus.”

In the end, the people lost to their greed. It was the result of ignoring God’s word.

“Let’s move. By the way, can you suppress this world collapse phenomenon with your power, Lullus?”
“I can more or less take care of earthquakes or storms. But I’m afraid that I can’t extend the world’s life by even a second.”
“How much power would you need to suppress the phenomenon?”
“If it’s just suppressing them, then it’s a reasonable amount.”
“Then please do that without pushing yourself. Since the spirit residing in Aquilus is the Spirit of Earth I can imagine that we’ll have to be careful about the earth’s cracking. And there’s also earthquakes to worry about.”
“I see. I got it.”

If Nigel housed the Spirit of Darkness, then Caeruleus—whose royal city was said to be a city on water—must have the Spirit of Water. And the remaining Spirit of Earth would be in Aquilus. Judging by the pattern so far, it seemed likely that the Spirit of Earth was buried underground. We were already stuck between the earth cracking, but still… Luckily, Lullus would likely find where it was after we entered the kingdom, so with that, we set our sights on Aquilus.
