The last time she had read manga was the day before going on the plane.
There used to be a weekly series she enjoyed, but when she was reincarnated, her life as a noble started and she had to learn boring etiquette, take walks in the garden while engaged in worthless conversations with court ladies, reading holy books, and eventually all of that slowly erased the memories from the weekly series.

And so eighteen years passed like that, being able to read manga again brought a deeply emotive feeling in her.
When she was done reading the volume, Sareenea spoke to Schenna.

“If there’s any manga you like, feel free to take it with you, free of charge.”
“No…I’m going to pay for it.”
“A single volume won’t hurt me at all. Take it as a token of gratitude for making the food.”

Schenna was already with her hand on her breast pocket to take out the money but decided to accept her gratitude this time.
And so, she took the following volume for the manga she had just read.

“I’ll take this one then.”
“I’ll give you a dust jacket too. That manga is complete with twelve volumes, so if you want to read the continuation, you can come here anytime you want.”
“Thank you. It was pretty interesting so far, so I’ll be coming back soon.”

Schenna gave the volume to Sareenea, who took it with her to a counter on the other side of the room, where she took a handmade dust jacket and put it on the volume.
The design on the dust jacket was of cute animals. Sareenea then handed the volume back to Schenna when a voice came from upstairs.

“I’m sorry. I have to go to attend some clients now.”
“Ah, we also have to get going soon. Sorry for taking so much of your time.”
“I don’t really mind. Also, this is a dust jacket for your dark elf mistress, give it to her later.”

She gave Schenna another dust jacket for Kishana, and then quickly ran upstairs.
Schenna turned her head around the room trying to find Kishana, she was standing on the shelf with shoujo manga, happily reading something.

“So you were here. What are you reading?”
“Ah, Schenna. It’s a manga called ‘All the Noble Ladies are in Love with the Prince’. It’s a funny story about noble ladies plotting different things about the prince’s wedding.”
“Hehh…”

Having been a noble lady in the past, Schenna knew how things like that would actually happen. One time when the son of a high ranking noble had confessed to her, she had been showered with jealousy and jeering from other ladies around her. But because the memories of her past life as a man were in the way, she was able to quickly pull out from that situation without any lingering feelings. Then when she enrolled to be a knight, a knight commander confessing to her had been the tipping point for her to flee to Priden.

“For me, it’s way better that I can talk with you without having to worry about other things. In the noble world, you really have to be bold and shameless to get anywhere.”
“Ah…true. You used to be a noble lady too. It feels much heavier and realistic when someone who has experienced it talks about it.”
“Sareenea said you could take any one volume you want with you. Do you want to take this one?”
“…No, I’ll take something else.”

Kishana took another manga that would not bother Schenna, then put the dust jacket on it and they left the room.
