The event will be held during this weekend.
The placement matches will be carried out during Saturday.
They’ll be battle royales split into 8 different blocks.
Whoever remains alive for longest in each block will advance onto the main fight.
The main fight will be carried out during Sunday.
It’ll be a battle royale between the 8 teams who won the placement matches.
The final placements will be determined with a point system. Points can be obtained from killing other players, or being the last one alive in the end.

Maybe in the short term yeah. But then it’d be harder to expand and a bunch of other guilds would constantly fight against them to take away their land. It would also limit their resources.
But settling down far away means it’ll take longer for enemies to arrive, giving them more time to fortify their bases, and they’ll also be closer to rare resources.
I’ve already heard that Nord Glacier is mining some rare ores over there, and they’re getting really far forging them onto weapons.
There was that interview with the developers where they said that long term they’re expecting 3~4 guilds becoming the biggest, and having smaller guilds annexed to them. They keep bringing that up over in the GvG threads.0187: Nameless Adventurer
