Eru’s birthday concluded without a hitch, the Chitanda’s house have once again became a world only for the two sisters.

Ako have departed for the capital city to supervise the production of the Touhou series game. Yukihiko in turn have lived in Tokyo, it is said that he was trying to crack open the market in the east.

At the same time, another news began circulating around the internet– the Torea publishing house have announced that they will publish Slipped Egg-Eater’s new work, “Da Vinci Code”.

Slipped Egg-Eater unexpectedly make a new book!

After writing the adventure of a small tiger band for ten years, the whole Japan tacitly agreed that Slipped Egg-Eater couldn’t have write anything other than “Adventure Tiger”, some even went further and even say that Slipped Egg-Eater-sensei must solely rely on “Adventure Tiger to feed themselves for the remainder of their lives.1. So, before this news, no one entertain the idea of Slipped Egg-Eater-sensei releasing a new book seriously.

Nevertheless, these things aren’t important. The important news is this: Slipped Egg-Eater-sensei is actually a high school student! And according to the publishing house’s tone, it is likely that it is actually a pretty high schooler.

Considering the fact that Adventure Tiger have accompanied a whole generation in their growth, how should one wrap this idea around their head? Imagine that one day, you discover that the compiler of the textbook you are reading right now is actually your dormitory roommate who slept below you.

“Wow, Hyouka‘s price on the internet has surpassed 1,000 yen.” Inside the clubroom, Fukube Satoshi exclaimed in admiration while skimming through the internet.

At the same time, the news of the new book also elevated Hyouka‘s popularity. After all, the opening of Da Vinci Code has been published there. Many of Slipped Egg-Eater2 die-hard fan has been looking to buy Hyouka online. During the cultural festival, the Classic Literature Club has only sold a little over 500 copies, and if you exclude the damaged ones, then there are only around 300 of them in circulation. There are much more demand rather than supply, so the price have rose sharply.

“Can’t we start selling the remaining copies of the period yet?” Mayaka finally couldn’t bear to keep it to herself and ask. Right now, the club is sitting on a little over 1,400 copies. On the basis of the price being 1,000 yen per copy, that would still net 1,400,000 yen! This could have funded at least several dozens of the club’s activity.

“Don’t be in a hurry,” Kana said, “Right now, the price hasn’t reached its peak yet, and moreover, the remaining copies can’t be sold off all at once, else it would net little value.”

The weather is hot, and the electric fan of the club is not usable. Kana is lying on the table from the heat as if she is about to melt. Eru sit beside her, caringly fanning her in place of a circular fan.

Oriki Houtarou looked at Kana curiously. Her way of thinking is different from normal students. It appeared as if she never limit her vision during the cultural festival, nor did she limit the potential customer of the periodic to within the confine of the school, so she can print 2,000 copies at once.

Kana thought that Houtarou is looking at Eru, so she glared with anger back at him, and the catch her little sister’s hand and said, “Eru, let’s go home.”

“Isn’t it still early?” Eru said, looking at her phone.

“The final semester exam is around the corner, I want to go home to review,” Kana solemnly vowed.

“Is that so,” Eru was happy. She was thinking whether she should make some nice food for that night to encourage her sister that want to rest to study.

“Nn? Does the top student of the grade need to review?” Fukube said astonished.

“Nonsense, I still need to study more or less,” Kana rolled her eyes. Even though she still carried the foundation from her previous life to the point where elementary and middle school exams wouldn’t be a problem, the difficulty of high school’s rose gradually, she couldn’t handle them with ease like previously.

“That’s because you gave your peers the impression that you are a prodigy that could get the first place even without studying,” Mayaka said while laughing, “it’s like, yes… like the genius Momokawa.”

Momokawa Wakana has been revered by the senpai of Kamiyama High as a goddess of studying. To commemorate her time at the school, before any exam, there will always been someone worshiping on the floor, [[and then offered a giving up smoking candies. Looking at this view, Kana wondered if the heavy smoker would be furious with the sight.

“Momokawa’s exam results are in a complete shambles though,” Kana told Mayaka.

“In complete shambles?” she repeated in disbelief.

“Only her math is good, she basically failed her liberal arts subjects,” Kana said, “She is also tone deaf.”

“Kana-san actually know Momokawa-senpai?” Oriki asked.

“Wakana-Oneechan and Onee-chan are good friends3,” Eru extended a finger, answering in Kana’s place.

Kana curled her lip. Is knowing that girl really something to be proud of?

“Nevertheless, when you reach a certain high level of proficiency in one thing, the other things you are lacking of is insignificant,” Fukube Satoshi smilingly said, “if our math is as good as Momokawa’s, then we can also give up studying foreign language too.”

“However, you aren’t that good at math, so you still need to review them,” Mayaka mocked him, and then thinking a little before saying, “Speaking of, I also almost need to go home to review. There are a lot of materials that I don’t really understand lately.”

Eru nodded and said, “Mmm, since everyone need to leave to review, then let’s wrap up today’s activity early.”

The two boys also expressed agreement. The final semester exam in sight, no one has to appetite to spend too much energy on club activity.

Fukube, Mayaka, Oriki. They commute on their bicycle, so they parted from the Chitanda sisters at the school building. Originally, Eru also wanted to commute by bicycle, but met with Kana’s strong opposition. Having no choice, she accompanied her sister on the bus.

“Ne ne, Eru. Let’s go buy some ice cream,” Kana pointed to the ice cream shop in front of the bus stop.

Eru shook her head, “You can get stomachache from eating the ice cream.”

Kana clenched her hand, “To give up ice cream just because I will get stomachache is too cowardly!”

“Onee-chan, there’s no need to challenge them in the first place,” Eru laughed, “If you really wish to eat ice cream, then you also need to exercise regularly…”

Eru stopped talking spontaneously. Her body lunged forward, lightly falling forward, Kana moved to catch her sister, when all of the sudden, a hard object is pushed against her waist.

“If you don’t want to die, listen carefully,” a heavy voice spoke to Kana’s ear.

Footnotes:

  1. Richie: A bunch of assholes.
  2. Richie: I gradually regretted to have translated Chitanda to a silly name when I realize that it will be mentioned over and over in the future. In hindsight and 6 more years of life experience, I probably should have translated it to Qitenduck or something.
  3. Richie: In gray area activities too.
