Mo Li didn’t know what kind of game the other party was playing; things had progressed much smoother than he had imagined. However, it was precisely due to the seamless flow of events that Mo Li felt quite uneasy. He couldn’t shake the feeling that a noble shouldn’t be so eager to help him solely because of a favor.

Frankly, Mo Li isn’t one to engage in lengthy conversations with strangers. His objective has been met, and the notion of a smooth negotiation has been accomplished. As such, he should be making his exit. Yet, why is this Mr. Count keeping me here with his non-stop nagging?

Moreover, Norma never provided an opportunity for Mo Li to bid farewell, and all the topics he introduced were rather interesting.

“Sir Mo Li, how old are you this year?”

“Fifteen.”

“Fifteen, huh? Do you have any girls with whom you share an affectionate relationship? Even if it’s just your one-sided affection, it still counts, okay.”

“…” This question might as well be asking, ‘Do you have a girlfriend or someone you like?’ There’s essentially no difference between the two questions.

What’s this, do you want to introduce me to a girl or something? Also, does whether I have a girlfriend or not have anything to do with you? Are we supposed to be familiar?

Mo Li’s eyebrows twitched, but he did not comment.

“If you have someone in mind, hurry and confess. When I was your age, I was already engaged… Oh, forgot to tell you, I actually had a wife, but she passed away without leaving me a son or daughter.”

“Ahem.” Norma’s train of speech was really going too fast; even his guard Rocco, who was standing nearby, couldn’t bear it anymore and let out a couple of coughs.

At this point, even Rocco couldn’t understand what in the world was Norma thinking.

Wasn’t the plan to force out some answers and even use force when necessary? How did they suddenly become two reminiscing relatives??

Rocco was confused, he didn’t understand why his new master’s attitude changed so quickly; could it be that he wants to play the long game?

Mo Li was also confused, these questions had put him in a complete daze, to the point where he had no idea how to respond.

He really wanted to complain and ask, “Do the two of us have that good of a relationship, don’t you think these questions are a little inappropriate, would I tell you an outsider the answers to these questions? Are you really that stupid??”

“If you don’t have anyone yet, you should hasten and find someone. Marriage and progeny are of great significance. In a noble household, fifteen is no longer deemed youthful, and it’s the age to start pondering the matter of continuing the family line…”

“Sir Norma, your questions seem to be a bit sensitive.” Without waiting for Norma to finish, Rocco couldn’t bear it any longer and interrupted his speech.

“Oh?” Norma pondered for a moment, noticing the peculiar expression on Mo Li’s face. Only now did he realize he might have gone a little overboard, and he coughed awkwardly twice.

“Apologies, my questions were a bit impolite. Ha ha, I accidentally asked too much. I hope you don’t mind, Sir Mo Li?”

“Nn, no worries.” Mo Li nodded, unaware of the shift in how Norma referred to him. “Then I’ll have to trouble Mr. Norma to take care of things.”

“It’s just a small matter, no need to call it troubling.”

On the side, Rocco’s expression also started turning strange.

“Since I still have classes tomorrow, I’m going to head back first.” As the scene fell silent for a moment, seizing the opportunity, Mo Li got up and expressed his intention to leave.

“Ah, you’re leaving right now. What’s the rush? Look at what time it is already. Why not have dinner and then leave?” Norma asked, smiling. “Now that we’re talking about it, it’s all my fault for taking up so much time, also…”

Norma observed Mo Li’s clothing, revealing a teasing smile. “At this time, even if you go out, you won’t be able to find a place to eat, right?”

The meaning of Norma’s words was, “Your situation isn’t too good; being able to save a meal is saving a meal, right? Are you sure you don’t want a free meal?”

“…” Mo Li didn’t say anything. It’s just that he was starting to get more and more confused about Norma’s thoughts.

Regardless, if Norma wanted to harm him, adding poison to the food was impossible.

With Norma’s identity and status, plus the expert at his disposal, would he need to go through the trouble of poisoning to kill a simple commoner?

No, he’d just kill them and be done with it, after all, nobody would care about an extra body appearing in the slums.

So just what exactly does this Noble lord want?

First, it was satisfying favors, and now an invitation to a feast; this kind of reception felt as if Norma was being more diligent than one’s own father. Mo Li didn’t believe these actions didn’t have a purpose.

“Mr Count.”

“Ah, yes.”

“… Do we know each other?”

“Nope, this is our first time meeting.” Norma replied with an honest-looking expression.

Then why are you showing so much goodwill toward a powerless commoner like me? Do you get something out of this?? A person showing kindness out of the norm must have an ulterior motive.

Mo Li became alert.

He suddenly recalled how he died during his previous life, falling victim to a noble’s deceit and causing him to lose his cool over an infatuation that led to his gruesome demise.

Should Norma also want to use him, then he can keep waiting…

As for the food, Mo Li decided to check the situation first.

Hmph, since it’s a noble’s food, even if I starve to death outside, or have to jump off a cliff right now, I won’t take a bite.

“Wow, delish.” At the long table which could seat more than 30 people, Mo Li crazily wolfed down food, directly writing four words ‘zero dining table etiquette’ onto his face.

Born a commoner and lacking any noble education, Mo Li had no concept of the words “etiquette” or “reserve.” Witnessing the table adorned with colorful and fragrant delicacies he had never encountered before, the knife and fork in Mo Li’s hands transformed into two lightning bolts.

Having not eaten for several hours, Mo Li was starving.

Norma sported a sweet, blossoming smile as he silently held his glass of red wine, observing Mo Li wolf down food. Recognizing that the plates of food on the table were nearly empty, he discreetly signaled the maids in waiting to inform the chef to prepare more.

“…” Rocco, responsible for Norma’s safety, silently sat there, observing the plates stacking higher and higher. Simultaneously, his expression when gazing at Mo Li also grew more peculiar.

Unlike ignorant commoners, Rocco, an elite guard of the Pope, has battled certain non-human creatures before. Consequently, he comprehends the reality of the existence of mythical creatures.

And this wasn’t the consumption of a human; if this teenager’s stomach were that of a human, it would have probably burst by now.

Rocco had some suspicions in mind, but rather than vocalizing them, he turned to observe his master. The latter appeared oblivious to anything unusual, still happily smiling.

“So, have you had your fill?” After Mo Li’s hard-fought battle came to an end, Norma chuckled gently, observing Mo Li as he lounged on his bench with a blissful expression.

“Mn, about eighty percent full, eight percent full.” Mo Li responded, waving his hands. After realizing the error in his demeanor he quickly corrected it. The homely feeling had caused him to get a little carried away, and only now did he remember that he was still in the lair of a noble.

“Well, it’s getting pretty late, so I think I should get going.”

“Oh, you’re right. I won’t keep you any longer. Oh right, in the future, if you’re ever hungry, feel free to drop by for a meal. Just be cautious not to attract any schemers.”

“… Got it.” Norma’s demeanor and expressions only added to the confusion in Mo Li’s mind, but he chose not to voice it.
