After they unpacked their things, everyone was able to relax a bit.
Ryunosuke and the rest of the adults decided they wanted to take a bath before dinner, so they got ready for that.
Meanwhile Kou and the other children began exploring the annex they would be staying in, checking everything they could.
With that done, they were making their way to the main building when…

“Ah, Reiji?”
“Oh, hello there. We meet again.”

Kou noticed a person standing there.
Amari and her group were just coming down the stairs, joined by a new face. It was the same red haired young man from the previous day… Hasekura Reiji.

“Wait, are you…”
“Ohh, is that you Subaru? You’ve gotten taller too.”
“Hahah, it’s been five years so of course. It’s nice to see you again.”

Subaru also knew him, and just like the time when Kou saw him, Reiji went straight to ruffling his hair, which Subaru did not seem to mind as much as one would expect.
Meanwhile Hinagiku, Miyuki, and Kasumi just looked confused, so Kou explained to them how they used to go to a dojo and Reiji taught them there.

“But why are you with my mother?”
“Oh, I had just finished unpacking when I left my room and ran into him.”
“And my father in law said he’ll arrive shortly, so we decided to go out and receive him together.”

Reiji seemed a bit restless as he said that. It was clear he really missed his wife and daughter.

“Wait, then your family that you mentioned will come too..?”
“Yes, they will. Do you want to come too?”
“You should definitely join us. That girl is a really interesting person.”
“Hmm.. Well, if you say so.”

With Reiji’s invitation, and Amari’s insistence, Kou and the rest joined them, even if she felt like she was overstepping a bit.

In the parking spot outside, a sedan from a new famous overseas manufacturer rolled in, and the driver stepped out.

“…Huh?”
“Isn’t that Principal Aureo?”

Kou and Hijiri tilted their heads in confusion when they saw who had been driving that car.
The next person to step out was another person they knew.

“Ah, Reo! Heyyaa!”
“Ah, hello everyone. Sorry, give me a moment and I’ll join you.”

He quickly turned around when he heard Kasumi’s call, then he went to the rear seat door, carefully opening it and aiding the person inside to come out.

“Please hold your hand out, dear aunt.”
“Aww… Thank you, Leon.”

In response to Reo’s call, a clear and melodious voice, like a well tuned instrument, came from inside the car.
Then, gently holding onto Reo’s hand came…a woman with silver hair, wearing a long skirt and cardigan, with a shawl draped over her shoulders, and a calm appearance.

“Woahh, she’s so pretty…”
“She’s a princess…”

Hijiri and Miyuki gasped loudly.
The woman who stepped out from the car, had an otherworldly beauty to her, her facial features being nearly perfect while still preserving some youthful features, and appeared to be around the same age as Crim and the rest.

“It’s been a while, Iris.”
“It has been, I’m glad to see you’re doing well, Lady Amaryllis.”
“Mhahah, at least that’s something I’m good at.”

Kou and her friends watched with their mouths agape as Amari gave a friendly greeting to the silver haired woman. And then Amari turned around to look at Kou.

“I believe this is the first time you’re seeing each other, she is…”
“I’m Iris Uber. I’m the wife of Reiji there, and the daughter of Aureo Uber. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”

The silver haired woman broke into a smile as she introduced herself.
…There was no comparison more befitting than a blooming flower to describe her gentle and warm smile.
But she did not appear frail by any means, it was more inviting, like one could go up to her and rest in her embrace at any moment…
Just that graceful smile alone had already captured the hearts of everyone around there.
In Kou’s mind, it felt like that smile put her into a charm that drove her to protect that woman no matter what.
But…

“Hey. Did you have a good time with your father?”
“Yes, he took good care of us. He’s really grown into a doting grandfather, right?”

Reiji ran up to her, and after a quick embrace…the woman who he called Iris glanced at Aureo next to her, with a playful smile that really fitted her apparent age.
Aureo just averted his eyes in silence, it was rare to see him embarrassed.

“And so…where is she?”
“Hm? Ah, she’s right here. Come out Lily, can you greet them at least?”

In response to Reiji’s question, Iris looked behind her, to a tiny figure hiding behind her skirt, barely peeking out to look at Kou and the rest.

“I’m really sorry, she’s just so cute I keep wanting to keep her safe, but that’s made her really shy.”
“Iris, you’re spoiling July too much, you should be more careful.”
“Oh? You say that like you’re any different?”
“Umm, please don’t start fighting, father, mother..!”

As the two parents embraced and had a playful argument, a bright voice came from that little figure wearing a warm poncho with a broad hood.
That voice…it was familiar, Crim had heard it before, and inside Destiny Unchain Online nonetheless.

“Ah…was that you?”
“Yes…Scarlet Demon Lord. Nice to meet you on this side too.”

Kou blurted those words out, and the girl replied, unable to contain her excitement.
She pulled back her hood saying that, revealing a face that Kou also recognized. She was…the same young girl she had met not too long ago in the Neutral Interaction City, exactly like she looked in-game.

“Ah, let me introduce myself properly. I’m Julia Uber, nice to met you..!”

She bowed nervously, doing her very best to speak in front of so many new people, which everyone found endearing.

“Nice to meet you too, Julia.”

Answering for everyone, and being extremely fond of children, Hijiri stepped forward, gently holding out her hand for a handshake.
Julia nervously shook it back, and Reiji and Iris were enamored with the scene… But seeing Julia’s parents there, everyone began having a different question.

“By the way… How old are you, Julia?”
“I’m…I’m turning eleven this year!”
“Ohh, you’re a year younger than Hinagiku then…”

Then, Hijiri’s eyes…no, everyone’s eyes moved over to lock in straight on Reiji.

“Sorry for being blunt…but how old was your wife when she conceived?”

Hijiri could not stop herself from asking that question, and everyone who did not know their past nodded along, also curious.
After all, Iris Uber’s appearance made her look like she was in her middle to late teens.
And not just her general appearance, also the softness of her skin, the glossiness of her hair, even her general demeanor and reactions.
Because of that, it was no surprise that everyone wanted to know how old she was when she became pregnant with that younger girl, who just looked like a younger sister and not her daughter.
That reaction made Iris look a bit troubled, but she did not hesitate to answer.

“Heh… You’re really direct, but I don’t mind. I got pregnant when hmm…my physical age was around twenty two years old? Something like that.”
“…I’m really sorry to pry even more, but how old are you now?”
“Don’t worry. I’m in my middle thirties so I’m pretty old already.”

She answered, smiling like a maiden at the height of her youth.

….The silence was deafening.
It took some time, but the air became tense as people finally processed what they heard. People began to look around at each other, checking on them…until they all broke at the same time.

All their voices overlapped as they shouted… Julia’s shoulders twitched and she scurried behind her mother, while Reiji grimaced a little mumbling “It figures they’d think that…”, while Iris just stood there blinking rapidly, her eyes wide in shock.

An encounter with the previous protagonist many decades later, during which time he’s mastered the Instant Friendliness (passive) Skill.
