Project GB is an official initiative by Re:Library.

“We need to find a Teleporter Plaza, or a receiver for the teleportation device in front of Castle Seyfert. As soon as possible.”

They were currently in ruins left behind by the old empire, a mausoleum built to house the remains of those people who had lost their lives in the dark ages.
The white stones used in its construction made it stand out as a clear landmark.
A tree spirit still lived there, tending to those old graves, and Crim handed over the remains of that female knight they had found below the cliff. With that done, they discussed where to go next, and Crim had a resolute answer.

In response, everyone nodded gravely as well.

“I agree. We never know when these fairies might pull one of their pranks again and get us killed, so we should be prepared.”
“We wouldn’t be able to recover someone’s body to revive them if they fell down a cliff like earlier after all.”

Frey and Lycoris added that.

*”Umm… Hearing humans talk about us like they’re scared of us makes me really sad…”*
“Hm?”
*”…I’m really sorry.”*

Fia tried to protest just a little against that preconception of her kind, but when Freya turned her head around to stare at her with a full out smile, Fia went pale and retracted everything.
As for the fairies that had caused all of that mayhem…they were currently strung up to hang from nearby trees, unable to leave.
But since there was a lot of slack, they could spin around freely, and actually seemed to enjoy it, making one wonder if that really counted as a punishment.
Ideally the group would have preferred to be harsher, but due to their appearance of innocent boys and girls, it was hard to subject them to more.

*Now I get why the forums were all filled with comments about little gremlins and adorable pests.*

Then again, those fairies would not learn no matter how they were reprimanded, so everyone (Fia included) let out defeated sighs.

…Deciding it was not worth their energy to keep thinking about those mischievous fairies, they decided to talk about more productive things.

*”You want to know where the first emperor came through?”*
“Yes, was there any other place different from the cave we came through?”

Fia thought about Crim’s question for a while.

*”Hmmm… There’s some ruins at the foot of the northern mountain range, we could go there if you want?”*
“Yes, please show us the way.”

With their next destination decided, they departed from the mausoleum.

“That aside… This place feels so peaceful.”
“I know, I feel so relaxed just walking around here.”
“I agree, this has definitely become one of the top five sightseeing areas I’ve found so far.”

Lycoris and Hinagiku hopped and skipped ahead of them, while Ryunosuke also approved of the view.
The only enemies around there were plant or insect monsters, and they were dotted quite sparsely.
Sometimes they would see large monsters grazing on the grasslands, which had a lot of warning signs when analyzed, but they were not aggressive unless provoked.
The actual enemies were also strong, but not a major foe for players who had made it all the way there.
If anything, the biggest threat was the mischief of the fairies, who on paper were supposed to be friendly, but at the same time…

“Hey Crim, maybe they just made this whole area to be really pretty where you can just relax and take it easy?”
“It may be so, all to allow us to enjoy this beautiful scenery at our leisure…”

*…Would those devs actually do that?*

Believing that required trusting the developers way too much, but it was also true that everything had been peaceful thus far.

“Now that I think about it, that knight we found looked like she was mauled by a beast, are those still around anywhere?”
*”Ah, yes, that was probably…”*

…Just as Fia was about to answer Crim’s question…the sky darkened all of a sudden.

“…Say, Frey? Why do I have a really bad feeling about this?”
“…What a coincidence, I was about to say the same.”
“Shall we look up at the count of three then?”
“Yeah, let’s do that. One, two…”
“”Three!!””

Crim and Frey at the front, followed by everyone else, looked up a the same time…and froze in place.
Above them…a multitude of small winged dragons…wyverns, circled overhead, as if trapping them.

*”I’m sorry to interrupt everyone, but it seems there’s wyverns around us. It’s currently their breeding season, so they come down from the mountains to look for food, and they get really aggressive so be careful!!”*
“””It’s a bit too late to warn us!!”””

Fia’s extremely late warning had barely ended when the wyverns began to swoop down on the group.

“Sara, Ryunosuke, stand back and protect Rouge and Fia!”
“Sorry Ditzy Lord, I’ll have my hands full with Haru and Da’at!”
“That’s fine, just worry about them… They’re coming!”

Realizing the situation they were in, they frantically moved the non-combatant members to the back, while quickly setting up a line of defense.
