After agreeing on watching TV together later, the two left the living room and went across to the two blocks on the right side of the second floor.
Most of the water and plumbing were gathered there, so the toilet, laundry room, and bathroom were there.
“This is a pretty large area too…”
“It’s set up to be ready at any moment, so feel free to use it whenever you want to, Mira.”
The toilet and laundry room occupied half a block. The remaining block and a half were all for the bathroom. There was ample space to wash oneself, and a large bathtub. And it was not fully enclosed, giving a view to the lush garden outside.
(Taking a drink here would be the best.)
Just seeing that view made Mira look forward to taking a bath there.
Next, they went to the lower middle block, which faced the garden. That was the room where Iris performed her duties as oracle.
Iris was in charge of periodically spying on August, one of the higher-ups of Ira Muerte.
Thanks to that, they had been able to discover all the underground trading routes he used, ruining their business and costing them at least a couple hundred billion Rils. On top of that, August could no longer be involved in anything related to the organization, so he could not make up for their lost revenue either.
Ira Muerte had lost an awful amount of money, all thanks to Iris, and as long as she continued supervising August, he would never be able to do anything about it without it being found out.
That was why it was so important to keep Iris safe.
That night at nine o’clock, it would be Iris’ next turn to use her powers on August, to make sure he was not plotting anything.
With the second floor done, they went up to the third floor.
To the left was the same kitchen and dining area where they had had their sushi party earlier.
“You can make all sorts of food here!”
Iris showed her the kitchen, which Mira had not really looked at earlier.
There were all sorts of kitchen appliances there, as well as an oven, so Iris was right to say one could prepare anything there.
As it turned out, Iris was not just good at eating food, but also at making it, and was already planning to go all out making dinner that night.
After that, they passed through the middle block to cross over to the right side. That middle block was a balcony, once again providing a beautiful view of the garden.
The right side was the bedroom, painted in soft colors and adorned very cutely. There was also a huge pile of plush toys on the bed in the middle of the room, which would keep Iris at least some company at night.
“Mira, you can sleep here.”
There was a second bed in the room. It had a simpler shape, but it was no less impressive than Iris’.
“Oh…alright.”
Being her bodyguard also meant sleeping in the same room as her.
For a moment, Mira worried what Mariana would think if she found out that Mira was sleeping in the same room as another girl, but then shook those thoughts away as it was required for her job.
That concluded their tour of the third floor, and they went up to the fourth one.
“Now this is a sight to behold as well.”
Mira was once again shocked as she looked around the fourth floor.
As it turned out, the entire floor was filled with bookshelves.
There were so many it could be confused with a library, with books everywhere one turned. At first glance, it was clear there were easily at least ten thousand books there.
The walls were painted in plain white, and the wooden floor was polished nicely. The lights also had a warm tone, creating a pleasant and relaxing environment, distinct from the luxury that filled the previous floors.
Then again, sitting down to read in such a library would also be quite an experience.
“Alma had this built for me too, so I’m never bored. There’s all sorts of fun books here, so don’t feel afraid to check them out if you want!”
Saying that, Iris happily ran up to one of the bookshelves, adding, “Lately I’ve been getting into these books, they’re called comics. You should check them out!”
As it turned out, there were even comic books in that library.
Curious about them, Mira went to look at the bookshelf and noticed there were various titles she had not seen yet.
“There sure are a lot of them here.”
Mira was surprised to see an even larger variety than in most bookstores, and as she looked through them, she understood why.
There were various books that did not come from major publishers. Basically, they were what she once knew as doujin titles.
Solomon had once mentioned that during one of their chats, regarding how former players had brought various aspects of their culture, which permeated into this world for more than two decades.
Given that time, it made sense for people who were not former players to also become such artists. And as a result, there were plenty of minor independent releases.
All of that made Mira wonder how long it would take before that major convention also opened here…or maybe it already existed… And as she thought of all that, she noticed that one of the doujin series there was about the Nine Wisemen, which made her grimace a little.
(Shalwina would lose her mind if she saw this.)
There were also plenty of books other than comics in there, so it was like paradise for a bookworm like Shalwina.
As Mira thought of all that, Iris went up to other shelves, mentioning the books she had read and what she thought about them.
“Noin recommended this one to me. It’s a story about the search for five hidden treasures in the world, it was really exciting!”
Her explanations tended to be lackluster, but maybe she was just trying to avoid giving away too much about the stories.
At the same time, she was clearly excited to have a conversation partner, and it was evident she was having a great time as her face lit up constantly. Somehow, just watching her like that was enough for Mira to have fun as well, and they continued going around the various bookshelves.
Once they were done looking around the library, the tour came to an end and the two went to the living room to watch TV together.
There were all sorts of events being conducted every day in the tournament grounds, and now, a little past five in the afternoon, they were having a sort of music showdown.
