「Incidentally, have you not asked Miss Rulinia about my Job?」

Recalling something before I exited the door, I asked the princess this question, and, in response, she tilted her head before saying, 「I don’t necessarily require her every single observation, you know?」

That’s true; if she needed to report about every single person, it would be hard on both of them, so Rulinia probably only reports about unusual people like us.

Well, I don’t exactly know how they work together, so I shouldn’t think too deeply about it.

「Well then, I shall take my leave now.」
「Right. Thank you for coming over to chat today.」

Since we’ll likely have more opportunities to talk again, I ended our meeting there and left the princess’ room… to go to the rooftop, as usual.

I don’t know if they feel my presence from the roof or if they come here every day, but there were many spirits gathered. From young ones to large ones, spirits of various shapes and sizes practically sprang at me as soon as I appeared. Still, since we can’t touch each other, they just cheerfully went through me.

「For now, why don’t I sing something?」
『Right. After all, the spirits gather when they hear Ain singing.』
「Don’t they also dance together whenever Ciel starts dancing?」
『I’ll dance afterwards. The spirits want to meet Ain, after all.』

That may be true, but I think they like Ciel as well. Anyway, after checking that there isn’t anyone who can hear us nearby, I began to sing.

The first one was a calm song, an insert song of a movie, a carefree one that I was addicted to for a period of time. Even singing it again, it never stops being fun. Unlike before, there are a lot of people… beings? listening, which might be part of why I’m enjoying it.

The spirits flew around freely and disorderly, but I can tell that they’re listening to my song. Some of them drew near me and were listening with satisfied expressions. Looking like dogs or rabbits, they’re adorable, and I really wish I could touch them.

The intermediate and high spirits are watching from a short distance away. They’re probably letting the smaller ones go in front. Lisyl, in particular, who is usually near our side, is watching from afar with a gentle smile.

As the first song was over, Ciel didn’t really say anything, so I began thinking about what the second song should be. And then, an idea popped into my mind, so I decided to sing a very loud and rowdy song.

As I started singing, the spirits got up in surprise and glared at me for a bit. I might have gone a bit overboard with my prank, but after a while, they’ve begun enjoying the song, so it’s all good.

Being used to my singing, Ciel was laughing inside my head. In the past, I would sing songs randomly as I remembered them, and there were many times where the contrast between the songs’ energy was extreme, so this likely isn’t surprising to Ciel.

Since I switched to a more energetic song, the spirits took some distance and danced. I call it dance, but it’s mostly them flying around. The way they’re trying their best to express themselves in their own way is really adorable.

By the time I finished singing, they seemed to have either forgotten about my prank or didn’t care anymore, as they’re cheerfully playing around.

『It looks like they forgot about your prank.』
「As long as they’re having fun, I don’t really mind.」
『It wasn’t much of a prank for me, but I do want to experience being pranked by Ain. Don’t you want to try?』
「Umm, let’s consider that for another time. Our current priority is to play with the spirits, after all.」
『Fair point.』
「With that said, I’ll be switching now.」

While playing with spirits with my hand, I spoke to Ciel for a bit before switching. Immediately, the spirits stopped fawning to my hand and are assessing the situation. Playing with them is fine and all, but I want them to properly recognize Ciel as well. I haven’t had the opportunity to dance with Ciel as of late either, so I want Ciel to take the opportunity to dance as much as she wants.

「As expected, they move away.」
『I think they’re just surprised. They had the same reaction when I began singing earlier, you see.』
「I know, but it still feels lonely, you know?」
『Then shall we start dancing to make friends with the spirits? We are trying *that* today, aren’t we?』
「Right, that’s right! No need to worry about me, so I want you to give it your all, Ain!」

While it was painfully obvious that I was changing the topic, Ciel is in high spirits now, so it’s good enough. Part of the reason we came here today is because of a certain thing we previously discussed and wanted to try. Though it’s not really something that would make us stronger, it actually might hold us back, to be honest, but that’s a minor issue.

『In that case, I’ll be doing it now.』

After giving Ciel a heads-up, 「A—h, a—h,」 I started vocalizing. For now, there are no issues. And so, I proceeded to use Ciel’s mouth to sing. Hearing my song, Ciel began dancing.

Some time before, when we were still imprisoned by Rispelgia, I was able to move Ciel’s arm while she was conscious. So we already knew this before, but doing something like this, where I sing with Ciel’s mouth while she maintains control of everything else and dances, is actually possible.

In theory, to be exact.

The reason why we don’t do it is because, first of all, there’s no merit in doing so. It’s partially because Ciel is the only one who can hear my song that we are able to obtain S-rank level strength while managing to keep it a secret.

Additionally, using the Song Princess’ powers while in this state is extremely difficult. If I try to use Song Princess in this state, its power will be exercised through Ciel’s body as a whole, which would then be obstructed by her Dance Princess powers. Perhaps it’s because the body is originally hers, but we’re practically in a state where only Dance Princess is operable and Song Princess is dormant.

And this is the biggest obstacle for us, but while I’m singing, breathing is under my control. It’s most noticeable when doing sports, but breathing is extremely important for moving your body. However, in this state, Ciel can’t breathe freely. Regardless of how impressive Ciel is, she can’t properly dance in this state, so we refrained from doing this.
