Yup, Palra doesn’t understand the value of being able to see magic power. Honestly, it probably isn’t known to the common people. I suspect this is because people who can see magic power are limited. Thanks to that, the value of magic power concealment is also barely known, which is helpful for us.

「Just to confirm, Belltina, you can see magic power even with objects obstructing your view, correct?」
「Ah, umm, how do you know that much?」
「When you previously found Tweisel, he was still a considerable distance away when you reacted.」
「Ughh… Bell only managed to do it after working hard to notice when father was coming to Bell’s room.」

So that’s the reason? It’s because Belltina was hiding from her father that he was unable to recognize her true value. I can’t say whether it’s for better or for worse, but I personally think it’s for the better. Belltina’s family is apparently of the anti-Central faction, after all. Even if it’s not her intention, her parents may command her to be our opposition.

Hearing Ciel’s explanation, Belltina let out a faint cheer. She sounds somewhat amazed, but maybe she’s just overwhelmed by the unexpected information. Monsters hold magic power since they are part of the miasma purification process, and the magic cores obtained from defeating them also hold magic power. Still, her reaction is understandable since not many can see magic power.
Actually, the people who can immediately respond to surprise attacks from behind may be sensing magic power instinctively.

Particularly with Palra’s case, since we’ve been using her to keep people away, I won’t be able to rest well if she suddenly dropped dead, so I want to train her up to a certain level. I don’t intend to go hardcore with the training, so they shouldn’t stand out in class.
And so, Ciel’s explanation was finished, and now Palra and Belltina began talking to each other.

The two seem to be resonating with each other. Belltina prefers to seclude herself and avoid human interaction, meanwhile Palra finds satisfaction in remaining in the small world of her village.
They’re similar yet different, but they can probably find a lot in common between themselves. On this occasion, for example, instead of being concerned about how their Job may determine their life in the future, they’re saying that they’d rather return to the peace they had before. Palra would have rather remained in her village despite the inconveniences instead of being sent out to find a better life with her Job; Belltina, meanwhile, doesn’t really care about her Job and just wants to be a shut-in. Still, most people would probably be livid if they overheard their conversation.

Ciel shouldn’t be the type to particularly detest lying, so the fact that she is showing some reluctance probably means that she sees the two a bit differently from other people. While I don’t know if she’ll eventually reach the point of considering them friends, this isn’t a bad thing at all. Anyhow, once she feels like she can divulge the name Cielmer without any political reason, I guess they’ll be considered friends?
We’ve lied about many things in the past, but we’ve also been particularly picky with whom to divulge our Job to. Perhaps that’s why she is hesitant in lying about her Job. Though in the meantime, we can’t really tell them the truth yet.

「So that’s how Ailneige is able to act solo as an E-rank hunter.」
「You don’t necessarily need to go to dangerous places for simple herb collection, you see. The most I’d encounter are wolves or orcs, I think.」

There’s no harm in having a weapon, but since we generally avoid combat, herb collection avoids weapon damage and should be easy to do even for them. Especially since Belltina has Magic Eyes and Palra should be able to lay traps and secure the surrounding area after locating a collection point.
As for the barrier thing, Ciel explained Ailneige’s limits as rehearsed, so I need to make sure to remember that as well.

「Also, I can sword dance.」
「I saw you use a sword in our other class, but that explains it.」
「It is in line with the nature of my Job. I can’t say how useful it will be, but I can probably handle E-rank monsters.」

Regarding the sword dance, she’s technically not lying. After all, we genuinely don’t know how useful Ciel’s sword attacks are when powered solely by Dance Princess. Ciel is skilled with sorcery on her own, so we can’t use that as a reference, but when swinging a sword, she is dependent on the full capabilities of Dance Princess. Additionally, we typically empower it with Song Princess as well. So when it’s just sword dancing, we don’t know how effective it would be.
Ciel probably can’t trade blows with Juerd, at least.

With this, it should be about time for us to return, but there was a child-sized creature slowly lumbering towards our direction.
