Those two were quick to catch on, and I could already tell they’d be fun to watch. The other two weren’t unreliable, just… a bit too naive. Honestly, they had that classic “main character” vibe. One of them even tried to read my thoughts, and surprisingly, he got most of them right.
I suppose bullied minds think alike.
He kept saying things like what I did wasn’t normal, and while his words were harsh, I couldn’t exactly say he was wrong.
“The heroes here didn’t say they wanted to help anyone, did they?”
“They’ve been holed up in that room, so I suppose they weren’t able to find someone important to them. Besides, it seems that they’ve used Allure to gather all of their allies, so I doubt they had any intention of dealing with the people from this world from the start.”
“I guess you’re right.”
“Everyone’s different. Back when I was still Toriyama, you cared about me precisely because I was different from the rest… isn’t that right, Lullus?”
“You’ve got a point. I’ll keep that in mind for the future.”
I wondered what Lullus meant by that, but then remembered that she was going to go to the next world. Truth be told, I didn’t feel like going to the new world.
“Well, it seems like they’re putting their plan into action tomorrow. How about we just kill time until then? Once we see how it all plays out, we can head to the Nigel Kingdom afterward.”
“That sounds like a plan. Let’s do that.”
While I did suggest that, I also wanted to get a glimpse of what was going on in the Nigel Kingdom. After all, I didn’t want to miss something there because I was focused on things here.

The next morning came. The sun had not risen yet, and in the dim light, the people of the royal capital were gathering one by one in the square where a single sword stood. The sword was stained a reddish-black, and it was clear that something terrible had happened. I didn’t know how many people had gathered, and I didn’t feel like counting, but when the sun finally rose, the crowd had grown larger than the square could hold.
They assembled in front of the sword, which was backlit and cast in shadow, each person holding a weapon in hand. Having said that, only a third of them carried actual weapons like swords and spears.
Many held knives, farming tools, large logs, and other objects not meant for battle, which got me wondering if they really were planning to use those logs as weapons. Still, there were a lot of weapons. All the people were just regular townspeople. People who would normally have lived quiet, ordinary lives in the city.
I tried to describe the scene below in my internal monologue while using Stealth from atop a building, but it was indeed quite the spectacle. A mature man climbed up to the raised area of the plaza, where the sword was embedded. Although dressed much like the common people, he gave off a refined presence when I used Appraisal on him.
He seemed like a high-ranking noble. In other words, Alks’ father.
Speaking of Alks, she was the maid who took care of my personal needs during my time as Toriyama. She was then killed by Takuma, and her death was blamed on me, which led to Ichinari killing me. At the same time, she was a part of the anti-royalist faction, working as a maid while leaking information to her family.
It was because of this that the royal family lured Takuma into killing her. Fraus must have felt like they’d killed two birds with one stone, given that her death led to my murder.
As the father of Alks, the man standing there likely genuinely wanted to take revenge on the royal family and even lead the charge himself.
‘They’ve found quite the talented individual.’
They had set the stage, timed everything carefully, and then let the rest unfold.
All they needed to do was stay safe and watch what happened. If anything, they couldn’t carry out the revenge on their own, but considering they were originally just high school students, it wasn’t surprising that they’d want to avoid killing anyone.
I mean, they hadn’t gone through the training that the others had, and I was sure they hadn’t been killed like I had, so they probably didn’t have that intense kind of hatred.
“Gentlemen! The day has finally arrived!”
Alks’ father began to speak, and I decided to shut up and listen to his speech. Still, I wondered, how did a noble manage to sound so dignified just by speaking? I thought that because, as a Demigod, I, too, wanted to be able to make my presence felt just through my voice. That way, it might put an end to the annoying kind of questions, asking if I was God’s gofer.
“The royal family of our Fraus Kingdom has indeed governed well, many of us recognize that. We’ve remained loyal, believing them to be just and noble rulers. However! That image is nothing but a carefully crafted illusion meant to deceive us! They have been hiding the truth from us… and defying the will of God! We have proof of this! Our crops are gradually losing their vitality, and alongside that, our livestock is deteriorating in quality. It may seem like a minor issue for now, but if left unchecked, it will eventually spiral into a crisis we can no longer ignore.”
Alks’ father raised his voice, and those around him responded in unison. They were probably planted supporters. Likely Alks’ father’s doing. Still, some of the crowd were nodding, and some even applauded.
Even if it had been orchestrated, people were easily swayed by the mood around them, and it didn’t take much time for them to follow suit.
“And of course, we must never forget that day, the day when the very land beneath our noble royal capital split apart! That disaster was a punishment, a direct result of the royal family’s defiance against God! And what did the royals do in response? Look at this sword. Stained with the blood of innocents, this is the proof! Proof of their sins! The war raging today was not born from justice or necessity, it was sparked by the selfish desires of the royal family! We cannot, and should not, forgive rulers who plunge their people into war and dare to claim the lives of their own subjects. And…”
Alks’ father, who had been speaking with fierce intensity, suddenly lowered his voice.
“My daughter, Alks, was also taken from me, killed by the royal family! We cannot allow them to continue getting away with their selfish acts! Gentlemen, now is the time to rise! Take up your arms, and stand with me! Let this day mark the beginning of a new era for the Fraus Kingdom, one free from the tyranny of the royals!”
Alks’ father raised the sword at his waist high into the air. In response, the plaza erupted with the voices of the people.
