「Mia, can we buy this outfit?」
「I’ll have it arranged so that you can keep wearing it.」
「Alright, I’ll leave it to you.」
As I randomly mused about how the clothing in this world doesn’t have price tags on them, I listened to the conversation.
『That reminds me, how about your mobility?』
「Hmm, I can’t really say. It’s not particularly difficult to move in.」
『Then it should be alright.』
「Compared to this, dresses are harder to move in.」
Now that she mentioned it, that is true, but unfamiliar clothing should be a bit difficult to move in. But apparently, that isn’t the case for Ciel.
As I finished that line of thought, there was a light knock at the door.
At first I thought, *Mia’s quite quick*, but then, 「How is it, Miss Ail?」 I heard Miss Leshy’s voice.
『I’ll undo the barrier now.』
『Understood. But what do I do?』
『You could let her inside. She likely wants to see you wearing the clothes.』
「Please feel free to enter.」
Employing my advice, Ciel turned to the door and replied. The door slowly opened, and Miss Leshy, with her attendant, was now visible.
Her clothes are different from before, now looking similar to what Ciel is currently wearing. The main difference is that she has a wine-red ribbon and a pink cardigan. I suppose being able to easily coordinate matching outfits is one of the advantages of pre-made goods.
I can understand why she wanted matching clothes, but I’m a bit envious. I want to go on an outing while wearing matching clothes with Ciel, too. I want to be led around by the hand, guided by Ciel’s whims and curiosity. Walking around while holding hands would be embarrassing, though.
「So you changed too, Miss Leshy? It looks similar to this outfit…」
「Umm… is it no good?」
Miss Leshy anxiously cast down her eyes. In contrast to the anxious princess, Ciel wasn’t bothered at all, replying, 「It’s alright.」 Seemingly relieved, Miss Leshy raised her head with delight.
「It suits you as well, Miss Ail.」
「Wearing black really makes me feel happy.」
Ciel was a bit excited and couldn’t keep a proper conversation, but Miss Leshy didn’t appear offended by it. If they’re fine with this arrangement, then alright, I guess.
Perhaps happy that Ciel is wearing the outfit she chose, Miss Leshy’s eyes were glued to Ciel, but then her gaze suddenly turned to Ciel’s head. Ciel took off the hat while changing; is she curious about Ciel’s white hair?
「Miss Ail, you always wear that hair accessory, don’t you?」
「That’s true.」
It looks like she’s curious about the hairpin-turned-spirit’s resting spot. That reminds me, I completely forgot that we always have it on. We haven’t been with spirits as much lately, but is that alright? Well, it’s probably fine. Lisyl hasn’t really acted differently, after all.
「Is it a precious belonging of yours?」
「I suppose it is important, but―」
『How should I respond? It’s best to keep the spirit stuff a secret, right?』
『That’s right. As long as you don’t mention that, feel free to describe it in any way you like. No, if you do think it’s fine to tell her about it, you can do that, too. But in that case, I’ll have to use a barrier so it’s only audible to Princess Leshy and Mia.』
『I’ll keep quiet about the spirits.』
『Understood.』
It’s not like they can do much with the spirit-related information, and even if this is stolen from us, it merely absorbs magic power―while it can also conveniently change its shape, but it isn’t really something worth the effort of stealing.
Still, I won’t allow it to be stolen in the first place, and if it does get stolen from us, the spirits might get angry.
「This is an accessory that absorbs magic power.」
「Is it a type of sorceric tool?」
「No, it doesn’t appear to be one. I’m wearing it as part of my disguise, but I really can’t recommend it to other people.」
「Ah…―So it was that sort of thing.」
It seems like Ciel decided to make it so the hairpin has magic power suppressing capabilities, and Miss Leshy accepted that explanation.
Certainly, it shouldn’t attract too much interest this way. It would also explain why Ailneige’s magic power is only around a noble’s average, and if we say that it was given by Mother Fii, whatever we say about it should sound somewhat legit.
Mia returned soon after, and we decided to leave the establishment.
◇◇◇
After that, we had lunch at a somewhat expensive-looking restaurant and went to the park where Ausente’s largest sorceric tool, the clock tower, stood.
I don’t really know if it’s only officially the largest sorceric tool in Ausente, or if it’s physically the largest one, but with it looking as impressive as the clock towers in my memories, it’s undoubtedly amazing.
It appears to be a popular tourist attraction, as the place was bustling with people, and there were also other sorceric tools and contraptions in the nearby area. Like the water fountain, the contraption that makes flowers bloom as desired, and the clock tower’s elevator. The fountain, for example, occasionally has its water forming the shape of birds or flowers, making it even more impressive than the fountains in my old world.
There were also food stalls at the park, and we even ate as we walked around, but Miss Leshy seemed quite experienced with this, so maybe she actually does this regularly.
Being a food lover, Ciel enjoyed it greatly, but as expected, they couldn’t try all the stalls, and their stall tour ended shortly.
And as the sun began to set, we leisurely had tea at a fancy cafe.
We ate a lot on the way, so the two only had black tea with no snacks.
「Thank you for keeping me company for the whole day.」
「It was fun seeing various new places.」
「I’m glad to hear you enjoyed it. However, this is all for today. There still were other things I hoped to show you, but…」
And that ends this update! The date with Princess Leshy continues with our girls having matching outfits and Ain low-key (high-key) jealous, lol.
This continues to be a “Princess Leshy is adorable” arc, with our princess wanting matching outfits and stuff. Really nice to have more world building about how Ausente uses sorceric tools, too. They’re using it for a lot of public utilities, which really adds to how much impact the magic core deficiency would have had. It would affect civilian public satisfaction long before it starts to affect them when winter comes.
Now then, I hope you enjoyed this chapter. Please feel free to comment. Stay healthy, stay safe, and have a nice week~!
