Project GB is an official initiative by Re:Library.

While it’s quite questionable etiquette-wise, she isn’t really causing any harm, and since I’m observing her as well, I suppose we can call it even.

『Is there something with the girl next to us?』
『She seems to have very good eyes.』
『Is that so? Will that be okay?』
『She should be fine.』
『She doesn’t look like the type to be hostile against us.』

Besides, it’s not really an issue if she exposes us.

If the fact that we’re Fiiyanamia’s daughter is ever revealed, the number of people potentially belittling us will probably decrease. On the other hand, people wishing to exploit our power might appear, and we might get targeted by people who don’t have positive opinions of Central.

Still, neither Ciel or I would allow the former to happen, and even if we’re targeted, we can simply turn the tables on them.

『As such, let’s just continue on with the lesson normally, shall we?』
『That’s true.』

In the background, the lecture continues on. While I am actually paying attention, there was nothing said that I didn’t already know. Rather, the teacher just said something about enrolling in primary-level General Sorcery.

「When writing a magic circle, you need… You there, try to give an answer.」
「A pen designed for drawing magic circles, using ink that conducts magic power.」
『So that’s actually necessary?』
『This is my first time learning about it too. I had sensed that the magic circle used during General Sorcery conducted magic power well, but it turns out that was actually the standard.』

Up until now, we just draw it on any sheet of paper we have, while Ciel sometimes etches it directly on the ground, we had no idea such an ink even exists.

『This wasn’t written in the books back at the mansion, was it?』
『It wasn’t. Maybe it was just so basic that they didn’t bother writing it down?』
『Or perhaps they intentionally left us books with this information omitted. Either way, this is surprising.』
『We’ve been using magic circles even without that ink.』

As Ciel and I continued to talk, I listened to the teacher’s discussion.

「Right, that’s the general rule, but it’s not absolutely necessary. Court sorcerers, for example, can operate magic circles written from a normal pen and paper.」
「Teacher, can you do that too?」
「With simple spells, I can.」
「What’s a court sorcerer in hunter rank?」
「Around B-rank, if I have to say.」

Yeah. The princess didn’t mention this course’s teacher when I asked about outstanding individuals, so I suppose that says it all. Rather, Ciel was already at court sorcerer level at around 10 years old? Well, that’s probably my fault. Considering that it resulted in solid foundations, it’s not a problem to worry about.

The teacher mentioned court sorcerers as an example, but court sorcerers aren’t necessarily equivalent to B-rank hunters. In the first place, there’s a wide variety of court sorcerers. Newcomers and veterans are called by the same title.

But now that I think about it, what exactly is a magic circle? While I’m lost wondering about this, the lecture continued its own course.

「In this course, I will not be teaching how to use magic circles, but how to write them. Upon learning this, you will be able to write safe and secure magic circles. For our first goal, I won’t be demanding a perfectly operable magic circle, I just want you to make one even if it doesn’t work.」

Taking a glance at how my seat neighbor is doing, she was letting out a sigh of relief.

Well, that confirms my suspicions. She’s probably relieved knowing that we won’t be using magic circles for a while.

「Additionally, magic circles are utilized in sorceric tools, and I believe some of you here took this course for that, but the more practical magic circles will be taught in the intermediate and advanced courses, so keep that in mind.」

True. I believe there’s a sorceric tool course that focuses on Magic Circle Studies. But since it requires grades from both primary-level Magic Circle Studies and Sorceric Tool Studies, we weren’t eligible to enroll.

Magic Circle Studies aside, I practically have no experience with Sorceric Tool Studies. It’s only natural, since I’ve only modified a magic pouch at most.

Is our neighbor perhaps an aspiring artificer? Will her eyes help in performing well?

「And so, we’ll properly start our lessons on the next meeting, so be prepared by then.」

Before I realized it, the class was over. I guess all of the courses aren’t going to start their lecture proper in the first meeting. In that case, this week might be boring.

『Now, what shall we do?』
『We have a free period before the next class again, right?』
『With lunch also in between, we really have a lot of free time. Even considering our eating time, that’s still enough time to finish a simple commission.』

We had tea with the princess yesterday, but today, she didn’t approach us from the start. Just as she proclaimed, she appears to be inviting someone else for lunch.

『Anyhow, why don’t we have lunch first?』
『What are we going to eat?』
『Would you like to choose, Ciel?』
『Oh, I don’t mind if you choose, Ain. I’m looking forward to tasting everything. More importantly, I want to know what Ain will choose. After all, you intentionally chose to have the same food as Princess Leshimiiya yesterday, right?』

I didn’t intend to hide it, but it seems like Ciel also noticed that I was matching with Princess Leshimiiya. Also, this probably isn’t her being reserved, I feel like she really wants me to choose.

『Understood. In that case, I’ll choose as I like.』
『Maybe I’ll get to know Ain’s food preference with this.』

Ciel said cheerfully. Since this isn’t my first life, it might be vastly different from before, so I guess it is a chance to learn my preference. Still, I’m also basically fine with anything that’s edible now, so who knows?

『What do you like, Ciel?』
『I like most of the food we ate since leaving Rispelgia, you know? But I might have a preference for sweet stuff.』
『Ciel is a girl too, I see.』
『Oh? What does that mean?』

I headed to the cafeteria while chatting with Ciel, but the girl next to us is secretly following behind. What should I do about this?

And that ends this update! Second day at school, and it seems like we have another new face to remember! Seems like our girls really can’t help but attract the shy types for some reason (height, the reason is height).

Princess Leshy seems to be in the same class as well, so let’s see if it’s truly a coincidence or not, lol. The short conversation with Mia at the beginning was also quite nice, Ciel is really opening up to her.
