Carol looked like she wanted a more substantial answer, but Ciel was just as usual.
Actually, Carol didn’t know of this?
Considering the reason why monsters stop respawning, maybe this effect doesn’t apply until you reach a certain depth.
It shouldn’t be difficult to defeat all the monsters in the shallow strata, after all, so I’m sure that has already happened several times in the past.

If it really does only apply to the lower depths, only a few people can go that deep anyway, so it is certainly possible this hasn’t been discovered yet.

「Even just learning that one can have leeway in time is plenty, I suppose… Alright then. For now, let’s return.」

Saying so, Carol began walking.

◇◇◇

「Do you have anything that can serve as proof of subjugation?」
「This.」

Returning to the hunter guild, Ciel called for Rhavelt to present her report in a private room. Carol caught Celia and began her own thing. Just as she said earlier, she’s likely making preparations for the assembly of a rescue team.
Thinking about it, Carol must have made a lot of contributions to the Hunter Guild.
While it might be because she’s acquainted with Celia, her rising to A-rank—her actual combat power having increased also played a part, of course—must have been the cumulative result of consistent contributions like this.

Perhaps Friere still being in B-rank is due to the difference in contribution… But I suppose that’s her problem to ponder about.

I digress.

Ciel retrieves the golden spider’s fang from our magic bag and shows it to Rhavelt. She had a really reluctant look as she took it out; she’s likely wishing for Rhavelt to requisition it.
I share her sentiment. While it’s only a small part of one, carrying a spider along with us does not feel comfortable.

「All other parts burned to ash.」
「This will do well enough. Would it be possible to borrow it for a short while?」
「Take it. We don’t need that.」
「Are you sure?」

Rhavelt slightly raised an eyebrow.
I guess he’s really surprised to hear that.
With it being the fang of an artificial divine messenger, it would probably make for good material, so I suppose that’s only normal.
If we consider the golden spider to be equal to the golden wolf, then it should be roughly stronger than a wyvern and could result in the creation of excellent armor or weapons.

The main issue is going to be whether this monster’s patchwork body is actually tough or not. It’s possible that the divine realm energy simply compensated for its strength, but in reality, its body is actually physically weak.
I’ve already forgotten how it was in the golden wolf’s case.

「We don’t need spiders.」
「If that’s the case, then I shall oblige.」
「Can you tell from just this?」

Ciel asked Rhavelt as she handed him the spider fang.
While it’s quite large, a large fang can be easily fabricated, in my opinion.
Though, being the ones who burned it in the first place, I guess we have no business worrying about that.

「Among appraisers, there are those who can extract information from objects such as these.」
「Come to think of it, there was also a person who could discern Jobs.」

Thinking about it, the Appraiser Job line is quite blessed.
While it may depend on what one can appraise, in most cases, people with this Job will likely have no trouble finding work.
And while Job Appraisers could be complicated to handle, they would be greatly convenient if you had to discern a criminal’s Job quickly. At Estoque, regardless of how it ended, it apparently actually did provide great aid to the hunters.

I’m sure that appraisers must be in high demand in most organizations.
Vastly different from some so-called highest-ranking Jobs in particular.

「We’re truly sorry for that debacle.」
「It’s fine. Is this enough for the report?」

An explanation of the course of events and the relaying of information on the survivors and the casualties. It’s pretty much the same as what we told Carol, but I can’t think of anything else we should report.
After some short contemplation, Rhavelt asked us if there was anything unusual we encountered.

「There wasn’t.」

And with that short reply, Ciel left the room as though to say that her business here was done.
She must have decided that there’s no need to talk about Tur.
Even if she does inform them about Tur, there likely aren’t any hunters that can reach the stratum Tur lives in, and talking about purified monsters isn’t really going to change anything.

Exiting the Hunter Guild, Ciel headed straight back to Mother’s manor.

◇◇◇

「So you met that child. Was that child doing well?」
「Khyturi—Tur looked bored, I think?」
「For that child, the den is practically his home, after all. Perhaps there was no longer any nook left for him to explore.」

On the balcony overlooking the garden, we were having tea with Mother.
Made with tea leaves nurtured by spirits and prepared by a top-class servant, it was, as expected, many times more delicious than any other tea we’ve tasted.
Since we can basically drink this whenever we want to, it’s honestly quite a luxury.

And when the topic of Tur came up, Mother replied with a look of nostalgia.

「Can Tur not come out to the surface?」
「Right, let’s see. Perhaps that child is no longer capable of leaving? The supreme god might have taken measures to make it that way.」
「Is that so.」

Ciel’s quiet mutter was tinged with pity.

「Yes, yes. And even if that child could leave for the surface, I think he would remain bored still.」
「Why is that?」
「He simply lived so long of a life. I suspect that child was already bored of the surface by the time I took him to the den, even.」

The demerit of long life, huh?
We might have to be concerned about this matter as well.
After all, I don’t know how long we’ll continue to exist either.

「Fii, are you also bored?」
「Right, that’s right. I was bored.」
「So it’s different now? Why is that?」
「Fufufu, that’s a secret.」

While Ciel tilted her head in confusion, Mother looked at the two of us with a gentle gaze.

And that ends the chapter! Adorable and heartwarming! Fii really does enjoy her new role as a parent.

It was cute how Ciel felt bad for Tur not being able to leave the den. She might have found it relatable, since they also had the exprience of being confined in the past.

And rolling back a bit, it’s always mildly funny to me how Ciel withholds information sometimes, and probably not even intentionally. She probably just can’t be bothered to explain, lol.

Now then, I hope you enjoyed this chapter. Please feel free to comment. Stay healthy, stay safe, and have a nice day~!
