“Crackle… Um, Lin Feng?”

“Ruo Lian? What was that about earlier? Why did Anna suddenly show up? And why did she just hang up mid-conversation?” Lin Feng’s annoyance about Anna abruptly ending the call melted away as he heard Ruo Lian’s calming voice from the other end.

“She left in a hurry, probably to find you. Don’t be too upset with her. Anna has been trying to contact you after she visited the museum alone. She’s likely worried about you.”

“I understand. But that girl really needs to be more responsible. It’s dangerous to be out there alone. Anyway, what’s Anna’s frequency? I need to talk to her.”

Thanks to his exceptional reflexes and ample food supply, Lin Feng had sped his souped-up scooter to the museum at breakneck speed.

He quickly tidied his windswept hair and jotted down the frequency number Ruo Lian had given him.

“Let’s see… Channel 473, crackle.”

“Hey, Anna, can you hear me?”

“Loud and clear, Lily. I’m heading your way.”

“Why are you coming here?” Lin Feng started to scold Anna but then realized she could help by luring zombies away while he used a trailer to move the airplane.

“When will you get here?” Lin Feng asked, settling on this plan to transport the airplane.

“Lin Feng! Watch out!”

“What the—” Lin Feng reacted instantly as a car barreled toward him. He leaped aside, narrowly missing the car’s spiked roof, which grazed his pants, tearing them.

The hedgehog-like car eventually crashed into the same pillar Lin Feng had previously hit, causing it to collapse from the accumulated damage.

Furious, Lin Feng strode over, yanked open the car door, and grabbed Anna by the ear.

“Have you lost your mind? Do you call that driving? Were you trying to kill me before the missile does?”

“Let go! You’re stretching my ear!”

As Anna continued to look indignant and angry, Lin Feng’s own anger boiled over. He had nearly met an early end, and she didn’t seem to have any remorse.

He pushed Anna against the pile of rubble, pulled down her pants in a fit of anger, and gave her a sharp spank.

The crisp smack echoed, drawing the attention of nearby zombies and quickening their approach.

Lin Feng abruptly realized what he had done—yanking down a girl’s pants and spanking her—and embarrassment flooded him. His hand froze in mid-air as he stared at the fresh handprint on her backside.

“I’ll get you for this, Lily! Waaah!”

“Cough, cough,” Lin Feng awkwardly muttered, helping Anna to put her pants back on and lifting her up.

“Why the tears? You didn’t even cry when that zombie almost bit you,” he said, awkwardly avoiding looking at Anna’s oddly designed car.

“Hmph, who’s crying? And are you hurt?” Anna briskly wiped her tears and checked Lin Feng for injuries, relieved to find no serious harm beyond his torn pants.

“I’m fine. And… about earlier, I’m sorry. I lost my temper,” Lin Feng said, his face reddening as he shielded the view of his torn pants.

“I am too, sorry,” Anna replied softly.

Lin Feng paused, struck by her response. It was rare for Anna to apologize in his memory.
