Nina sensed someone approaching and immediately opened her eyes.

Even though she knew that the only people who could enter this room were Nancy and Jenna, her eyes couldn’t help but flash with panic and disgust upon seeing Nancy.

Nancy, of course, noticed the emotions that involuntarily flickered through the girl’s eyes upon waking and seeing her, leading her to frown slightly.

What exactly had the original host done? What sort of grievances existed between these sisters to cause such disdain from the younger sister towards her elder sister?

Despite the myriad thoughts running through Nancy’s mind, none showed on her face. She looked at the awakened Nina, offered a slight smile, and then gently began to speak:

“What’s wrong? Disappointed to see it’s not your sister Jenna who has come?”

“……” How could Nina admit to such a thing, even though that was indeed what she was thinking.

“Why have you come back?” Nina asked coldly, her question diverting from the topic at hand.

“Ha, as I said, this is my home, and I’ll return whenever I please,” Nancy’s tone also cooled, showing her displeasure towards those who refuse a toast only to be forced to drink a forfeit.

My tone was okay just now, wasn’t it? Nina’s tone, however, seemed a bit prickly in response.

“It’s your house, so does that mean it’s not mine anymore? You bought this house with my money!” Upon hearing Nancy’s words, Nina seemed to hear something amusing and quickly retorted with cold sarcasm.

“Is that so?” Nancy was slightly taken aback, as there was no such memory in her mind. She clearly remembered… Hiss, never mind, the original owner’s memories are a mess.

【Indeed, the money was hers, but it was also rightfully mine.】 Candy, as usual, spoke in riddles.

In that case, Nancy could only play the fool: “Doesn’t matter, I don’t remember it.”

“Haha!” Nina thought Nancy was mocking her and immediately scoffed to show her disdain.

“So what are you trying to say with these words? Are you accusing me of locking you up here without giving you the right to live in this house?” Nancy raised an eyebrow, speaking indifferently.

Saying this, she sat in a corner of the sofa far from Nina—since the younger girl seemed to detest her elder sister, there was no need for her to make unwelcome advances.

“……Haha, as long as you know,” Nina’s attitude remained hostile.

Faced with Nina’s demeanor, Nancy had no desire to talk. Originating from a special forces background, she naturally had a fiery temper, and the fact that she hadn’t lost her temper at Nina’s attitude was already a good sign of her self-control.

Perhaps seeing that Nancy was on the verge of losing control of her expression, Nina decided not to provoke her further, and her tone of voice became much calmer in subsequent remarks.

“Nancy, you’ve had me locked up for three days now.”

“Three days? How do I not remember it being that long? Also, what am I to you? What should you call me?” Nancy raised an eyebrow, her tone exceedingly cold.

Anyway, there’s no mission concerning this rebellious sister right now, so she couldn’t be bothered to deal with this rebellious girl.

Moreover, Nancy thought, Candy probably wouldn’t issue a mission for her corruption, right?

【Heh, what’s there for her to corrupt into?】 Candy also responded to Nancy’s question with a mocking tone.

At this moment, upon hearing Nancy’s words, Nina clearly bristled, “Have me call you sister? Haha, you might as well starve me!”

Nina’s words were undeniably harsh, making Nancy reconsider her original plans for Nina. It seemed the discord between the sisters was beyond her expectations.

For a moment, the atmosphere in the living room became tense.

After a while, Nancy finally spoke up slowly, “Anyway, I’m not your real sister, so call me what you will.”

“However… I indeed have had you locked up for three days, so do you know what you did wrong?”

During the tense atmosphere just now, Nancy took the opportunity to understand from Candy the reason she had locked Nina up, which turned out to be a trivial matter.

The original host had planned to sell Nina to the human trafficker Lubbock, and in such a case, she naturally had to prepare Nina well to fetch a good price—however, while she was treating Nina well in terms of food and clothing, Nina mocked her.

The discord between the two sisters was already significant, so this instance of sarcasm from the younger sister towards the older sister naturally escalated into an argument, and in a fit of anger, Nancy locked Nina in the house with a chain.

This had happened more than once before; over the past five years, any slight displeasure from Nancy would result in Nina being locked up, but this time, being locked up for three days was indeed a bit long.

“Haha… I’m wrong? Where did I go wrong?” Nina remained cold.1

This actually puzzled Nancy; she remembered from the original game storyline that Nina was a gentle and somewhat meek girl. Why had she turned into a rose with thorns around her?

Well, when the opportunity arises, I’ll just send you to the protagonist; Nancy couldn’t be bothered to cater to her.

Candy also supported Nancy’s plan; after all, love was a tormenting matter, and that Su Xiaoyu was a philanderer—making it even more torturous! It was better to let her sister be tormented a bit.

“After all, I went through a lot of trouble to earn some money for your food and to buy you new clothes. Yet, you chose to mock me then; isn’t this a case of good intentions being repaid with ingratitude?” Nancy commented lightly, as that was indeed the situation at the time.

“Is that so? Should I also thank you, my sister, for your sudden discovery of conscience?” Nina continued with her sarcastic laughter.

Nancy: Can we even continue this conversation?! (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻2

“Nina, I warn you, you were the one who approached me to talk about this tonight. If you don’t adjust your attitude, then we’re not discussing this any further, I’m telling you.”

Nancy’s emotions were indeed somewhat out of control, steam was practically coming out of her head.

Seeing the situation getting out of hand, Nina finally stopped trying to counter Nancy. She sat up straight and took a slight breath: “I just wanted to tell you that I’ve been locked up for three days now. The school must be worried, right? I need to go to school!”

Although she knew that if Nancy wanted to keep her locked up, she would have already asked for leave on her behalf, but at this moment, she just wanted to leave this house, and that was just an excuse.

Nancy frowned upon hearing this; Nina was still attending school, something she had forgotten about… Oh, right, the original owner of this body was also in school, a senior high school student.

Nina, though a year younger than Nancy, was still a senior high school student. Don’t ask why; it’s just the plot’s arrangement.

Should I let her go or not? Nancy pondered, touching her smooth chin. She actually wanted to let her go; after all, keeping Nina locked up like this wasn’t right, but letting her go… didn’t quite fit the character she was supposed to play.

In the end, Nancy made up her mind after looking at Nina, who appeared calm but with a loathing for her in her eyes.

“I’ll take you to school tomorrow, don’t think about playing any tricks.”

Having said that, Nancy rummaged for the key to the chain and tossed it to the girl on the sofa, then headed to the bedroom without looking back.

At that moment, Nina was stunned. She had been prepared for a long battle with Nancy, but she hadn’t expected her first attempt to probe to be successful?

Was this still the same tyrannical, dictatorial sister she knew?

The reason Nancy decided to let Nina go was simple… if Nina didn’t go to school, she might not be able to meet the protagonist.

How else could she get rid of this little sibling if she didn’t meet the protagonist? After all, Nancy couldn’t stand having a sister at home who loathed her and might stab her in the back at any moment… especially one without any blood relation.
