“You two, come, have some tea.” A middle-aged man with a harmless demeanor carried a tea tray and personally placed two steaming cups of tea in front of Su Xiaoyu and Nancy.

“Thank you.” Nancy remained silent, while Su Xiaoyu, in an attempt to liven up the atmosphere, offered a polite response.

“I just spoke with Sherry on the phone. She’s on her way back. Please, have some tea.” Jason noticed that Nancy and Su Xiaoyu hadn’t picked up their teacups. His expression stiffened momentarily, then he quickly regained his smile and added.

“Mr. Jason, is it true that Sherry isn’t home?” Nancy raised her head and squinted at the man sitting before them with an imposing appearance.

“Well… Nancy, what kind of question is that? Why should I deceive you?” Jason felt uncomfortable under Nancy’s scrutinizing gaze and forced a smile.

“… ” Nancy remained silent. Just then, Brian suddenly descended from the second floor. He didn’t say anything, just glanced towards the living room and then headed towards the door.

“Bang!” Nancy and Su Xiaoyu both tensed up as they heard the sound of the door closing.

Raising their heads, Nancy and Su Xiaoyu saw that the smile on Jason’s face was somewhat eerie.

…………………………

Putting down the tea set, along with a neatly arranged fruit platter, Jason leisurely made his way upstairs, where Brian, who had come up earlier, was waiting for him.

“Dad, how did it go? Did you handle it?” Brian held an improvised pistol in his hand, watching as Jason’s smile gradually disappeared, he inquired.

“The tea has been delivered, whether they drink it or not is up to them.” Jason’s expression darkened.

“Dad, that guy named Su Xiaoyu seems to be an ability user.” Brian reminded Jason.

“Ability user? Even if it’s a deity, they’ll have to bow down before me today.” Jason snorted disdainfully. “Do you know how much effort I put into getting this bottle of drug?”

Jason himself was also a somewhat mediocre ability user, but his ability was a rather useless physical enhancement, and of a low level at that. So, he was only slightly better in physical quality compared to an ordinary person. As for his son, Brian had inherited his supernatural gene, which was why they dared to indulge so recklessly in drug use, relying on their good health to feel invincible.

To the average person, a physical enhancement ability should be developed and exercised to maximize its potential. But this father and son duo chose to counteract the side effects of drug use with it.

“Clang!”

Suddenly, there was the sound of a cup falling downstairs. Brian quickly looked at Jason, who at this moment, had a hint of a smile on his face. “Let’s go, take a look.”1

The father and son went downstairs and, as expected, found a boy and a girl dressed in Roland High School uniforms, both unconscious on the sofa. The tea, which they hadn’t finished drinking, was spilled all over the floor.

“Dad, this is amazing! Your drug works really fast!” Brian momentarily forgot about the main task at hand when he saw the effects of the drug and turned to his father, giving him a thumbs-up.

“Forget about that, quickly move them both upstairs!” Jason, seeing the two unconscious individuals, also felt relieved enough to holster his pistol, then noticed his silly son completely focused on his drug and quickly reprimanded him. After scolding him, he himself walked towards the unconscious Su Xiaoyu.

“Hehe, Dad, next time let’s give this drug to that s̲l̲u̲t̲ at the street corner…” Brian chuckled with lewdness as he walked towards the unconscious Nancy.

The unconscious girl, due to her posture, had her already ill-fitting school uniform perfectly highlighting her beautiful figure. Brian glanced at her casually and felt somewhat dry in the mouth. He tightened his belt, but it didn’t seem to help much. Finally, unable to resist, Brian reached out towards the girl’s prominent chest: since he couldn’t devour it on the spot, a touch should be okay, right?

Just at that moment, he suddenly felt an inexplicable chill all around him. Instinctively raising his head, Brian saw that the girl, who should have been unconscious, was now opening her eyes. Her cold, beautiful eyes were staring indifferently at him!2

Brian was shocked, about to get up to grab the pistol he carelessly left on the coffee table, but it was too late. His movements seemed somewhat sluggish in Nancy’s eyes. The girl with snow-white hair directly threw a punch at Brian’s nose!

Brian could not imagine that Nancy, who appeared gentle and fragile, would possess such great strength. Along with the piercing pain in his nose, he also felt darkness engulfing his vision. Tears involuntarily welled up in his eyes, and his hand, which had reached for the gun, instinctively recoiled to cover his injured nose.

The girl did not continue the attack. When Brian finally recovered and opened his eyes, he saw the girl sitting back on the sofa, casually playing with a gun that still emitted the smell of gun oil.

Brian couldn’t help but take two steps back. However, as the girl slightly raised the gun barrel, he obediently stopped moving. But Brian still turned his head to look, only to find that a black muzzle was already pointed at his father’s forehead.

“Nancy, I never expected you to have such… a deadly weapon,” Su Xiaoyu looked at the brand new gun in her hand, his mouth twitching slightly. It was ironic that he had set up so many talismans to protect Nancy’s safety, only for her to pull out two big guns from behind.

“Both of you… let’s talk things out… Money, anything you want, but spare our lives…”

At this point, Jason spoke. Being someone with lives in his hands, he was able to remain somewhat composed even with the gun pointed at his forehead. As for Brian in front of Nancy, he was far from composed. Even though Nancy wasn’t pointing a gun at him, Brian’s legs were already trembling.

“Talk things out? Mr. Jason, if we had drunk your tea, would you still be willing to talk things out?” Nancy looked mischievously at the visibly nervous Jason. Upon hearing Nancy’s words, Jason realized he had messed up. It turned out Nancy had seen through all his little tricks.

“The tea… was our mistake,” Jason’s temples were already sweating. “But both of you came prepared, I assume you have a plan. Why don’t we sit down and discuss?”

“You’re right,” Nancy signaled for Su Xiaoyu to lower his gun while she looked coldly at Jason. “We indeed have a plan.”

“Where is Sherry?”

Upon hearing Nancy directly inquire about his adopted daughter, Jason was momentarily stunned. After sizing up Nancy in her Roland High School uniform again, he chose to remain silent.

Sherry’s situation involved too many things. It was impossible to disclose it now. Moreover, he didn’t believe two seemingly inexperienced students would really dare to shoot.

“…”

Seeing Jason remain silent, Nancy raised an eyebrow. However, she decided to first reveal what she knew: “Sherry has already been handed over to the so-called Young Master Shang’s hands by you, hasn’t she?”

“How…!” Jason exclaimed, but then realized he had slipped up. Hastily, he lowered his head and fell silent.

Even Su Xiaoyu, who was on the side, looked at Nancy curiously. But at this moment, she had no intention of explaining. She looked at Brian, whose legs were trembling and face pale, then turned to Jason:

“Mr. Jason, all I need from you now is to tell us where you sent Sherry. We need precise details, down to the specific house and street.”

“I really don’t know what you’re talking about. If you’re here for money, I do have some savings…” Jason gritted his teeth and refused to speak. He couldn’t believe that money wouldn’t sway the two people in front of him. Did they really want his life?

“Hehe, Mr. Jason, are you really not going to talk?” Nancy’s eyes narrowed as she laughed.

“I have no idea what you’re talking about. My daughter just went out shopping, that’s all.”

“Hehe…” Su Xiaoyu, who had been paying attention to Nancy, suddenly saw that the beautiful snow-haired girl’s eyes were now filled with coldness. At this moment, Nancy leaned forward, and then!

The action was so fast that it was imperceptible to the naked eye! Nancy took out the seemingly cheap fruit knife from the fruit platter on the table. Finally, she forcefully grabbed one of Brian’s hands and pinned it to the wooden coffee table with the fruit knife!

“Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah!” Accompanied by Brian’s screams resembling that of a slaughtered pig and Jason’s wide, bloodshot eyes, the hot blood stained a corner of the pristine school uniform.

Footnotes:

  1. Silva: Hm, they left the two of them alone and didn’t install CCTV to watch whether they really drank it or not, they’re quite careless. This is definitely a trap (by Nancy that is.)
  2. Silva: Ah, so the gig is up. But yea, I definitely wouldn’t continue the pretend if someone were to assault me.
