The concert was finished. Personally, I found it uneventful. So why does Kana look so angry at me? Well, I did sort of trick her a little, but the crowd loved it.
“Thanks for the great support work.”
“Have some self-awareness of how that could’ve caused an injury back there.”
And now I’m in the middle of being scolded by the main stars. I am aware that it caused a bit of trouble. As expected, doing something without prior practice can lead to unforeseen results.
“While I did request to throw her in the air, I didn’t expect her to gain that much momentum.”
“If I didn’t manage to catch her, Kana could’ve twisted her leg, you know!”
I requested to have Kana make an eye-catching entrance from below the stage. It would make a huge impact, I thought. I did get cold sweat when Kana ended up being thrown higher than her own height.
“Had she gotten injured, it would’ve been our responsibility, you know!”
“It’s the staff’s fault for misjudging the power if you ask me~”
“You’re to blame for suggesting it in the first place!”
It ended up being a success, though. Kana got thrown into the air and the main stars caught her. It was a big hit with the audience, enough to outshine my entrance. Thanks to this, I didn’t stand out. From my view, at least.
“Kotone, you liar.”
“What exactly do you mean?”
“Uwa, that’s so shameless.”
“From how she isn’t making eye contact, she knows exactly what Kana’s angry about.”
Kana’s glare pierces through me. Yeah, I suggested it, after all. The initial goal was for us to stand out more than the main stars, the old men. However, I changed my mind midway.
“Well, I kinda made you a scapegoat.”
“You’re so awful!”
Kana would jump from below, while I would fall from above. That was my suggestion. And yet, I betrayed Kana. Of course she’d be angry. I’d absolutely be angry if I was in her place.
“Why did you just normally enter from the side of the stage!”
“Well, to minimize my presence.”
“Selling out your own junior for your own gain, is that how a senior should behave?”
“Be in my shoes, it had no effect at all.”
Damn it. As expected, if a crazy woman with a box on her head went on stage, that would naturally catch everyone’s attention. I felt the whole stage go silent for a moment when I appeared. That honestly hurt me.
“Sorry, but it was really funny.”
“I really wanted to punch you guys, but since you did follow up for me, I’ll consider it even.”
I really can’t thank them enough. The audience quickly realized that I, the weirdo wearing a box, was Unknown, but thanks to the guys officially introducing me, it made me feel more welcomed by everyone.
‘Boss, your two favourite newbies came to hype things up!’
With that, the crowd understood what was happening, and our place on stage was secured. Kana and I had no idea what to say when in front of a crowd. That kind of one liner is really important for situations like that.
“Still Miss Anne, what’s with your unflinching nerves?”
“We were nearly choked up and nervous during our first live concert, you know.”
“It’s impressive that you could perform normally.”
“My palms were drowning in sweat, though.”
That’s nonsense. Even I get nervous, you know? Not feeling any anxiety when in front of so many people, I’d suspect your heart is made of iron at that point.
“Meanwhile, Kana was stiff as a board.”
“That’s the proper reaction, isn’t it?”
“I guess Miss Anne is really just weird.”
“Okay, if you want a fight, I’m giving you a fight.”
Saying whatever they want… Actually, while we’re talking here, Kana has been left out of the loop. I subtly gestured towards her and thankfully, the others took the hint. They’re really nice people. Even though they like teasing people.
“The audience seem to have enjoyed how Kana gradually softened up.”
“There were even some voices cheering for you.”
“I’m sorry for being so mentally weak.”
“ “ “No no no, we’re not thinking of that at all.” ” ”
“Yay, go dig yourselves deeper.”
Fan the flames while I can. Gotta make sure I don’t regret missing the chance later. If I don’t get many opportunities for payback later, I’d feel bad about it. However, this does come with the demerit of making the target attack harder.
“As your senior, do you want me to teach you how to be a respectable junior?”
“Hoh? Let’s hear it, then.”
“Umm, please don’t fight…”
“It’s just a form of skinship, no worries, no worries.”
“That’s right, just skinship.”
“It seemed to me like you two were arguing.”
It may feel that way to an outsider, but this is a valid form of communication. There are even cases when people become closer friends after a scuffle. Ours is just playful banter.
“Okay, time for the after party!”
“I’m underaged~”
“Um, I’m also under drinking age.”
“Age barrier!?”
“That’s right! We are actually old men!”
“Normally, we would be drinking and making merry!”
It’s obvious, but it’s already somewhat deep into the night. Them walking with minors at this time wouldn’t do good for their public image. Moreover, these minors also sit with them at a pub, how would that look to the public? Though on my end, it’s already too late.
“While I won’t be drinking alcohol, I can join since I have a guardian.”
“For me, I’ll have to consult with my manager first.”
A question mark popped in my head. Come to think of it, where is my manager? I know she’s held down by the fools, but it’s not normal nor sensible to make a minor go to a performance venue alone without making an appearance even at the very end.
“Akira~ we’ll be going to a pub somewhere, do you want to drink?”
“I’m on duty, you know!”
You can probably have someone take your shift, if you ask me. Still, I might really need to consider the manager issue. Whether I decide to continue this path or not, it’s a problem that has to be resolved. Yui’s hands are already full dealing with the fools alone.
“That reminds me, what happened to the tickets we gave you?”
“I’ve put them to good use. And it seems like things went well on that end.”
Seeing a message on my phone, I smiled. It seems like Ame had a lot of fun herself. I haven’t received anything from Nagatsuki, but I guess he just doesn’t have the leeway to send one. His battle is not over yet. In fact, this is the critical moment. If things just end here, it would all be for nothing.
“My manager gave me permission to join on the condition that she’ll come with me.”
“That’s understandable. It’d be a disaster if something happened in the presence of alcohol.”
“Miss Anne, no funny business, you hear me?”
“Even I know things that I’m not supposed to do, you know.”
“I just can’t help but think you’d do it, you see?”
Zero trust, huh. I might do other stuff, but I’m not going to make minors drink alcohol… No worries, I won’t go as far as Ani would. His antics tend to devolve into fights on a regular basis. Can’t pull those against people outside of the rogue’s den fools.
“I’ll be focused on eating, so I’m going to behave until I’m full.”
“You’re going to pull something after you’re full, aren’t you?”
Who knows? I don’t know what will happen in the future either. Typically, we just improvise our way through most things. I don’t know why, but I feel like Ane would get mad about that.
